  1. Hi KI Fans, Well its been quite a long time since I last posted here and that's because I have not visited KI in that time. The boy and I last visited during the Halloween season of 2009. But yesterday we closed out the summer season with an out of the ordinary Monday trip. I figured that visitors would be less than on a summer weekend... and this seemed to be the case, but not by much. The boy, now 10, is tall enough to meet the most stringent heighth requirements, so he can now ride anything in the park... and ride we did! Here is the list of NEW to us (meaning first-ever ride) but OLD (meaning at least dating from the 2010 season) rides we enjoyed together: Firehawk Flight of Fear Invertigo-started to "grey" out Diamondback While I could have experienced these rides at any time, it was important to me to wait for the boy to get old enough so that we could ride them together... some Dads choose say a ballgame for this bonding, but I went with amusement park rides instead. We also enjoyed the NEW/NEW Windseaker which provided much more thrill than I had given it credit prior to riding it, must have been the soaring height. We did not get to ride these favorites before a storm deluge moved in over the park at about 8:30: Delirum Drop Tower Flight Deck and while NOT a favorite I usually try to ride SOB for completness, but I didn't see it run all day anyway. BTW I bought the boy a T shirt, the one that lists all the coasters with a check-box on the back. Strangely it does not list SOB. Is this ride still in opereation? Vking Fury and a number of others. We caught a show, Snoopy Rocks or whatever at theater, and it was entertaining. Then we enjoyed pizza & macaroni at the Festhaus. At 46 the inner ear is beginning to betray me. I really like steel coasters and the the twists, turns, inversions etc that they offer. But many left me sweaty weak and a bit green. (The boy was fine.) However, Diamondback delivers all the thrill with none of the side effect except shear delight. I can't stress how utterly satisfying the ride was for both the boy and me. Absolute speed, a smooth ride, soaring height, and great seats... what more can one ask for? complete list in order: 1. Boo Blasters on Boo Hill 2. The Beast 3. The Vortex 4. Windseaker 5. Firehawk 6. Flight of Fear 7. Adventure Express 8. Congo Falls 9. Invertigo 10. Diamondback 11. White Water Canyon 12. Back Lot Stunt Coaster 13. The Racer Looking forward to the next visit...
  2. I have no status

  3. I agree. HW offered way more than I expected... double shock power!
  4. Woo Whoooo I was part of the 3%! P Plunge is a refreshing ride. Perhaps its best aspect is the lift. Raven, Legend & esp Voyage... all great coasters!
  5. could be the screamin demon, we rode that back to back one night forever but probably The Racer followed closely by The Beast
  6. hey everybody! TGIF The boy turns 9 in 4 days and we had planned on celebrating with a Saturday trip to KI/HH. This would be our first trip to KI all season. I had hoped for good weather and Saturday looks promising (better than today anyway). We plan to spend the day on the thrill rides then, once the fog rolls out, check out some haunts. If the haunts prove to intense for him... well we can just leave (having already enjoyed the day on rides). He seems brave at present. We shall see... bwaaahahahaaaa

    Why not?

Under "Polls" we see a lot of "favorites, firsts and how longs" etc. as these are kinda staples for this topic. But what about the "Thrill Rides" (double black diamonds) one is qualified to ride (by height) but have not yet done so. Tell what you have not yet ridden and why not. (wow) Here is my longer than expceted list. My excuse (among others) is that while I have been tempted to ride alone, I have decided to wait for the boy to get tall enough so that we can experience the first ride together first-hand. Kinda sappy I know but opportunity knocks once. I should also point out that several of these rides were constructed during a long hiatus from KI visitation during the 90's. Delerium- @ 52" we should be good to go this season, just hope its not a "blow chunks" ride for me Diamondback- brand new Crypt-seems like it is broken down 9/10 anyway Firehawk-novel Flight of Fear-most anticipated Invertigo-again highly anticipated-i like foot danglers We look forward to all... eventually
  8. Six Flags in TX... I think the coaster was named "White Lightning". It was similar to the Screamin Demon with a drop weight for propulsion. Strangely enough, my son's first was a similar ride at Ky Kingdom... the green one. Thrills all.
  9. other KIC should lobby KI management for reduced admission. Viewed from another perspective, KI gets a great amount of free, enthusiastic marketing from this site. To my knowledge KIC recieves no compensation from KI... or do they? Hmmm....
