  1. No, I can't confirm the start of the Tower Johnny item. I'm not certain what the name of the fatality was. I'm certain that a search could be done as there was quite a bit of press on that incident.

The Tower Accident was completly a result of the students actions. Had he not attempted to climb the structure, this would never have happened.

I can't remember the name of the elevator operator, but understandably, I remember she was quite traumatized.

The thing about The Beast being haunted has been going on for ever.

  2. Nope, I was off that evening. Worked the next day. When I came in the tower was all roped off. As we did with all accidents, we were called into a meeting that afternoon. They filled us all in. Were told the normal about not answering questins to the press and who to refer any questions to.

If you're a supervisor you know how all that type of thing was handled. I remember that bad one when I guy took a dive off the bandstand into the fountain.

We were trying to establish if the man had been drinking at Beergardens or if he had got his beverages from Tower Drinks or Munchen Tower. Ugly.

  3. I know this as I was a supervisor in food service at the time. I did not work that Grad Night and did not come in until the next day. Whenever there were accidents we would be called in for briefings on the status and how we were to handle any situation in which questions may be asked.

  4. Well, maybe Paramount is starting to get it's act together with bringing back Winterfest. I'm sure that they're kicking themselves for selling and giving away all the old Winterfest Props. Anyone that works there, if you have the opportunity to work set up prior to dry run do it! It's actually a blast doing the decorating and moving things around.

  5. This location used to be called Columbia Palace. And (Gasp) it used to have live entertainment as well. (The Bar Belles)

It used to be a huge money maker for food service. Usually the top totals for the day would be Festhaus, Columbia Palace, Beer Gardens and Burger Bistro. Sometimes Pot Works would come in there as well.

  6. The Live Shows were always special at Kings Island. I remember one year managing Mushrooms and Rings as one of my karts. Everyone working the registers knew the songs to every show.

    It was all very cool.

  7. Sorry, but the Festhaus was not built for an Ice Show. The first show to be housed in the the Festhaus was a live show. (Singing and Dancing) Kings Island used to pride itself on live shows. That is something Paramount seems to have not use for. The Festhaus was actually a take off of the ones utilized by the Bush Parks. The theory behind it was to have a central location that would provide a location for food. Then many of the park food operations could be opened and closed depending upon attendance.
