  1. Again you are welcome. Thanks Coaster_Junky, Funny you mentioned that today as one of my teammates just sent a picture of me from that ride. We rode all the way around Lake Tahoe in early June on a Century Ride (100 miles) for a charity event. This is Mile 89 as e just climbed up 8 miles on Spooner and I must say I was dead inside but knowing I just toped the last but biggest climb I was excited that I knew I was going to make it without needing to walk up mountain portions of the ride. I think you can see the slope behind me. At times it was steeper and other times less of a slope, but it was all up hill for 8 miles. The fun part is going down obviously, just wished it took longer to go down. My avatar picture is what motivated me to work so hard through the winter and spring so I would be able to climb the mountains as i wanted to earn that picture. We are at Emerald Bay at that moment in fact facing it with the mountain behind us. I must tell you as not being from the mountains before like that I felt so small in the universe. Here is a video of the ride I put together and at 2:46 you can see where we stopped to take that picture. I tell you agian I felt on top of the world and so small at the same time. One is never to old to discover new hobbies or to chase after a dream. Thanks again for noticing but your comment and getting the above picture really brought back some memories. Have a great evening.
  2. Oh how I long for heavy theme at Kings Island, I will be honest I love to ride coasters and the big thrill ones but I really love to ride ones with a theme throughout like Manta. I know they go up high but so much more can be done with themes along the way to immerse one in the coaster experience. To me Beast was themed well back in its early days. Running so close to the tree lines through tunnels and oh my goodness the station was a thing of beauty. Count me in to honestly say my visits would be more frequent if the theme aspects improve.
  3. No as steroids use is not a bad thing when used in proprer form. Usually used medically to help cancer patients. In the way Don refers to it is a proper way to describe to the audience in what to expect. Steroids are not bad, but the people who use them inappropriate are.
  4. Sounds like a fun Adventure, honestly being a father i enjoyed hearing about you spending so much time with your dad.
  5. Yes it did, if we see another one word post or provocative post that will not be the only thing deleted. Big days ahead everyone be nice as we have no time for nonsense.
  6. Wonderful report so good to hear you had one of your best experiences at the park even after so many visit at Kings Island for all those years. Welcome to KICentral we are glad you are here and we look forward to hearing more from you.
  7. I still have yet experienced this issue and hope I don't until it is worked out.
  8. The board we have here should far exceeding any volume of posts that we could only wish to achieve. Not saying there is or not an issue but I have had no problems with thread loads.
  9. Thanks for your suggestion JC From time to time a similar suggestion comes in and it makes a lot of sense. There are other issues that factor in on having a few more moderators. I have thought myself to have certain moderators cover certain areas or departments of the park, which would help stop over moderation or stepping on toes. Thanks again JC
  10. Nicely done trip report. I know reports with this many photos and reviews takes a lot of time. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
  11. I/we are watching more closely, sorry for all the frustrations some of you have been experiencing. Feel free to report or PM if there is something in detail I need to be more aware of. Please understand time is a premium with me right now so keep that in mind if you feel you need to vent/report/suggest or anything else that does not fall into those categories. I feel I owe you better attention in these forms. Lastly let me say when I moderate/admin I really try not to take a side or care to do so. I really want to resolve a situation, sometimes I/we get it right sometimes we do not. In those cases feel free to respectfully send a PM to let me know what I/we missedas we want to get it right. Here is the thing no matter what I/we get blasted from one side or the other. I assure you I am used to that and try to let those personal attacks roll off as I do understand emotions can run high here. This community and the members here are worth the time and effort and I appreciate you sticking around to share your expertise or experiences.
  12. Those were the days, my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days Oh, yes, those were the days Through the door there came familiar laughter I saw your face and heard you call my name Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser For in our hearts the dreams are still the same... Those were the days, my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days Oh, yes, those were the days
  13. Mostly correct but there really is a tipping point in where it gets so bad that members stop checking in and then we all lose including the park as a way to get a message out or feedback from true enthusiast. Back in the day I feel we had more problems but since the popularity of FB people are more custom to social manners.
  14. OK, yes we are getting these reports and a few from the same people and reports from several about one or two members. Here is the deal and hopefully a fresh look. Some of these threads have actually spurred some interesting conversations that would have not taken place if the questions and options are not shared. Many members have been here for a long time and we have seen spammers come and go and we can get irritated with repeat threads or the out of turn ediquit KICentral thread conversations. I do enjoy the enthusiasm of new members but while the older members try to adjust in accepting a new member we hope the new members will try to assimilate in respecting a long running friendly community. To sum it up "Keep it Classy" We have banned some members just because everyone disliked their post and attempts to disrupt. That is not a easy decision to make as sometimes it's just the early part of a new persons way to feel part of the conversation. But the greater good of the community is equally important and will be respected. Some here may want to read between the lines. Ride On!! P.S. the signature quotes of others is getting really old can we refrain from them before signatures get removed. Signatures are suppose to be about you not a tool to define others. Thanks.
  15. Good Trip, report and pictures Brad. I echo Terpy in noticing how big your children are getting.
  16. Thanks for sharing your opening day adventure with us. I enjoyed meeting you Saturday and look forward seeing you at future KIC gatherings.
  17. Great pictures and and report. It is always good to see you at the park and smiling the way you were on Saturday.
  18. Nice trip report and always happy to see KIC members sharing their other park experiences.
  19. It was nice to see/meet you at the noon meet-up, nice trip report and hopefully we see more in the future.
  20. Fantastic trip report Brad, It is always good to see you and for us it has been way too long. Love seeing and meeting so many KIC members friends and to but a face to those screen names. I hope your interview went well but it always has in the past so I figure it was better than ever this year. Sorry we did not hook up later as the phone finally died. We ended up leaving at 7:30 as the park was way to busy to plus I had a full day of physical activities planned for the next day. As always it is god to see you but we still have more catching up to do.
  21. We would like to give a shutout and a big welcome to Jennifer Lopez for joining the KICentral Ta Ta Team to help find a cure.
  22. Cool I am on the team now!!! I can not think of a better way to start the season off, being part of a cause to save the TaTa's, see the park with fellow KICer's before the public gets to while having a memorable time. Have each other to take pictures as we get colored in pink. Then enjoy a great day at Kings Island with each other. This is going to be another memorable opening day for sure!!! I was worried that since I signed up to take advantage of the discount that it would be hard for me to get switched to the team but it was easy. Just let Ryan know you want to be part of the team. as many of you know I run and now bike with a team for a cause and I can tell you we as individuals can achieve great things on our own but when done as a team the results are astounding. Not to mention the great resources we can draw from before, during and after. Come join the team and be part of a great feel good cause. I promise you will be glad you did.
  23. All sined up and ready for some colorful fun amongst friends. I enjoy new experences at my home park creating wonderful memories.
  24. I have been on the fence on going to KI on opening day or to do the Louisville half with some running friends. I see them all the time and besides I have another half marathon schduled for the next weekend that I don't want to miss. I think this would be a great event to do on openong day especially if there are others who would like to do it together. These type of runs are for fun and the more that do it together the funner it is. So who all is in.
