In 1993 the spike at the top was the very last year I saw the spike on the Eiffel Tower at its original height, Labor Day 1994 I saw the spike half its own size, I could never figure out why they did that. They also added extra spikes that same year that set on the arcs at the top. I asked the park officials about why it was shortened they never replied on the reason why the spikewent shorter.The only reason I could think of was to differentiate the tower at KD from the one at KI, How I differentiate them is how the one at kings dominion does not have a satellite on the south face, and the longer spike. 1999 after the drop zone was built they removed the red beacon at the top and placed an LED Halogen beacon at the top.

I believe it should be brighter than what you see in those photographs CF made a poor decision on lighting choices, why light the front side with these colored lights, when you can use the Eiffel Tower's lights and light all sides of the tower.

Why do you need all of those extra lights when the factory ones are just fine. Cedar Fair is taking away from the night asthetics from the Eiffel Tower. I am sure glad KD is not doing it to their Eiffel Tower the people on the east coast are a little bit wiser.

During most of the summer you can see the tower in its normal greenish color for a majority of the day. Let the tower show off a bit in the night hours. The archects at Intamin did not intend for CP to do destroy the lighting effects on the tower. The tower is not green it is powder blue like the statue of liberty. I disagree with your opinion on the colored lights. You sir, are wrong, the Eiffel Tower is painted "Eiffel Green" which is a very distinct difference from "powder blue". Also the statue of Liberty's color is the effects of a chemical change occuring on the surface of the Copper used resulting in a green copper patina! You are wrong it is powder blue. I know it is a copper patina I learned that in school you dult.

Put six strings of colored lights on the drop zone. On my thirteenth birthday on July 3, 1995 I recall seeing the arch of the eXtreme Skyflyer with those type of lights when the attraction first opened.

It is not the beacon I am worried about right now. I do appreciate your input. They should use both sets of beacons on top simultaneously. Actually those lights are on the blueprints.

What about a combination of both? Maybe some of the lights like you are talking about in the trees on international street and on the tower itself.

The lights that hang from the top and the others that surround the two observation decks, and the twelve that are mounted above the first platform look like pearls in the distance or in photographs. also like the green hue that the lights leave. Those other lights take away from what the tower's archetechs at intamin intended.

I Dislike the colored lights that have been projected on the tower. I still think the tower's own lights should illuminate the tower at night. It takes the mood away from the tower. What is your view on this topic?

What Kind of Rides are Coming To Kings Island for the 2008 Season?

Kings Island is threatened with the Rockies Express Oil Pipeline coming to Warren County. The route of this pipeline is routed through Shelby Co. Rush Co., Franklin Co. IN, Butler Co, Warren Co. I like going to Kings Island to escape from the real world. The rides I ride: Eiffel Tower Viking Ship Racer Top Gun White Water Canyon Kings Mills Log Flume Zephyr Beast Beastie Name Defunct Shake Rattle and Roll Scrambler Vortex Dodgem Monster Flying Eagles Defunct Sponge Bob Square Pants 3d Kings Island and the Miami Valley RR

They need to keep the festhaus that is a popular gathering place in the park when it comes to indoor dining. The festhaus has been there since 1982 why change something that is fine the way it is. I like the glass mirror on the top. and the ribbons on the roof. It looks the way it did in 1992.

I am saying that a lot of people use these bathrooms, they have held up pretty well through the years and could use a little TLC and updating after ten years of use and millions of patrons occupying the urinals and toilets and sinks. I would like to have my own personal urinal at my house.

I hope KI does not become randomly themed like Cedar Point. Cedar Fair has a reputation on keeping their parks randomly themed. I want to see KI restored and updated if Cedar Fair was to invest money to the park. Landscaping is also key to keeping people attending the park as well as cleanliness. Cedar Point is not the cleanest park in the midwest like Kings Island is. They were one of the contenders most likely to dominate Ohios amusement parks. On my list they were the very last people I wanted to own the park.

When I was thirteen going on fourteen I had a dream of that once the Eiffel Tower would not look right with a coaster hooked on to the rear. The Dream I had is where a coaster went right through the top of the tower. When I went back that following summer I appreciated it just the way it looked that day was my first ride to the top. I used have a fear of heights by going to the top of the tower overcame my fear of heights. I went on it once in the morning and just right before I went home at Dusk. This was three years before face/off and Drop Zone changed the skyline. Wrought Iron will not hold the weight of a coaster wrought iron towers can only hold their own weight. Wrought Iron is a brittle metal and requires constant maintainence in High Altitudes.

I found Kings Dominion by accident in a Virginia Travel Magazine that my mother had stashed away in the closet in my kitchen. I was like what is Kings Islands Eiffel Tower doing in virginia. Some years later I found out more being a chain park along with Kings Island under KECO. I saw this park in motion on the Movie Roller Coaster. It is just a southern version of Kings Island. I like the fact that Kings Island has a twin park to share like the disney parks, Except the rides are arranged in a backwards way. And the fountains are on the north side of their Eiffel Tower with lots more trees and no center pieces in their fountains.

I have been visiting this park every summer since 1984. I remember the last time I visited the park before the bathrooms were renovated they had the manual turn on turn off faucet handles and not the automatic faucetts with the electric eyes above on the backsplash the sinks. I remember the tiles used to be hospital white from top to bottom. Now the tiles are kind of a taupe color with a semi-checkerboard pattern. One thing that still hasn't changed was the tericatta tile floor. I have never ever visited a Cedar Fair park before they took over Kings Island. I have been to privately owned and paramount parks. I am estimating about $20000 per operating day on paper towels by the case. The first time I saw the automatic sinks were on Saturday, July 13, 1996. I remember that day the beacons on the Eiffel Tower was blinking in seven different patterns. They had the old rectangular beacons to strobe from top to bottom on each side one at a time.

Maybe the Italian Job could become a rockin coaster, I would not know what to think of an idea for tomb raider the ride. Maybe something adventurous. I would like to see something like top thrill dragster at KI. Maybe placed between The Racer and The Vortex or in the middle of Paramount Action Zone I don't know if that will ever happen.

I like the hand dryer Idea that is what is hurting the park most is the cost of paper towels in the restrooms. I think they need refurbished too, it has been ten years since anything has been done to them.

I dont care about political correctness I read somewhere that is a form of neomarxism. I believe more about the park being refurbished than the political correctness that is a form of controlled group thinking. I noticed the flourescent tubes on the monster have been removed when I visited in july what is up with that. I am Politically incorrect and proud of it.

I think they need to put all the cowboys and indians back out on the train ride along with the lookout tower that had the fort around it. Turn the prairie rose inn back to the Golden Lamb lnn like it used to be. I would like to see the general store restored too. They should of never taken the nativity seens or dummies of the cowboys and indians out in 1996. I was hoping that when Paramount Took over the park that they would not change some of the original attractions. Maybe Cedar Fair will restore it back. I would like to see the train ride look like the river town it used to mimmick.
