  1. Last year I drove about 40 minutes each way and had to fill up my car once a week. I worked a lot of hours that summer, which I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else, so I found that it was way worth it even after filling up as often as I did.
  2. They haven't. I've been a supervisor since the beginning of this season. I turned 18 this past August (so I started as a sup at 17). I agree that at times they have promoted poor supervisors, but it's not necessarily related to age. I'm now the head supervisor of my location and my counterparts are minors and are doing fine, and when they aren't I'm helping make sure it gets done correctly.
  3. If this helps, I work at KI and our stand's final clean-up days are scheduled currently for Nov 3 and 4, and I haven't yet heard otherwise...
  4. I work in food service at KI and the building you're talking about is now used as an office and a place to make pretzels. It was closed because of FC's removal. Since there is no serious ride in that area, it is now awful placement for a concession stand. There is a ghost story about the queue lines for FC. The electricity to that whole queue line area has been cut off, but some people claim that the fans will turn still turn on on their own. I was in the park after a late close at 1:00AM and walked through the queue lines, but the fans didn't do anything.
  5. Yea, after my 700+ hours I made it in once ;\
  6. Man I guess the park does need a little help with its associates. I work in a food stand there and I am trying to greet & thank guests where my associates aren't.
  7. I was working in a cart near the Son of Beast today and so I heard a lot of speculation. First I heard The Beast was the one, and a train car completely jumped the track and was off of it. Then I heard it was the SOB, and a car had come off near the ground. I never got the true story until I got home.
  8. I just went to the Festhaus recently and noted that the screens were missing and a round stage was in the center, with a piano on it. I don't know if this will be just for WinterFest or not.
  9. Drop zone drop would be crazy, they'd have to time it right and it's a lot faster than the one minute NYC ball. Would be neat if they could pull it off.
  10. Yea, I think it's just a storage right now. Anyone ever played lazer tag there? I don't know how big the actual playing area was, unless it was the entire dome part.
  11. I think that an additional system would be positive. The Queue TVs aren't all over the park, only ride lines. I've never been in the park at a time when they had to move people to a safe place, so I don't know exactly how the system works. From the current signals/codes/shelters we have and what people have posted in this thread, I think we are adequately prepared--but I am a fan of extra precautions.
