  1. Don, Thanks for linking us to that! It looks like the backseat will be the place to sit.Love that "whip" down the first drop! Looking good!
  2. Most lift hill motor buildings seem to be for wooden coasters. Very left of this picture is a lift motor shed: http://rcdb.com/279.htm?p=12893
  3. Just thought I would chime in here.... So I ordered tickets for a friend at work. After I got the ticket email I got a separate email that had this.... Mind you nothing in the context of the email mentioned anything about a new ride. I found it funny that the email said "Spoiler Alert" and then shows an Inverted coaster. Another mind game.....
  4. Just happened to be browsing on eBay today and saw this. I'm tempted to bid just for nostalgia. Does anyone have this coat? Looks like it could be a cool thing to have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121070042091?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  5. I'd swear my son racked up about 100 rides on Beetle Bugs alone this year!
  6. I've made 8 visits to Kings Island, reached level 3 yesterday, by the time I left I was 50% to level 4.
  7. This set of photos is from yesterday 9/29/12 Taken from the Eiffel Tower as well
  8. This picture was taken last week.... The Chain is still on the ride. These were also taken one week ago from the Eiffel Tower: I'll upload some from yesterday as well very soon
  9. Something tells me that Cedar Fair won't allow the use of that logo any time soon.
  10. Couldn't help myself, just ordered the Zantigo one.
  11. I missed that Zantigo one! I miss that food here in Columbus! So much better than Taco Bell! That will be the first one I get!
  12. It said that in many cases the logo's rights had expired. Does not mean that Cedar Fair did, that's probably why they had to get permission.
  13. I would say that you are safe arriving later in the day. I can't recall a year that Kings Island has handed anything out to pass-holders since Cedar Fair took over.
  14. That was my thoughts as well. Great, we are out another 6.5 million. If it was so "mutual" why did CF have to pay? I think the only way Apollo agreed was because of the $6.5 million.
  15. Cedar Fair and Apollo have agreed to terminate the sale of the company. Can't say I'm surprised. http://cedarfair.com/ir/press_releases/index.cfm?current_root=15&mode=story&story_id=235 http://sanduskyregister.com/articles/2010/04/06/breaking_news/doc4bbb36e67ae32708971400.txt
  16. It's sad that Cedar Fair inherited this problem. I guess in the long run they didn't pay for it up front, but it still stings.
  17. I agree 100% that it would be flushing money down the toilet, but it may be something that the park is seriously looking at. I'm sure in the eyes of Cedar Fair there is this massive record breaking roller coaster that has some sort of potential to it. Any route that they take is going to cost them a fairly large amount of money to either re-profile or demolish. For all we know the park could be in talks with many ride manufacturers about what each of them could do to better the ride. They may be weighing out these options as we speak deciding the route to take (if any). Thus giving us the "No Decision Has Been Made" response. I highly doubt that the ride will ever re-open in the current state that it is in for the fact that they have stated that they are unhappy with the ride performance. It's sad to see a roller coaster that is 10 years old and cost millions of dollars to build, going to possibly cost the company millions more. We can speculate 100's if not 1000's of different things that could happen to the ride or the ride site, but until the park makes up it's mind and decides what is in the best interest to their bottom line, we will never truly know. I personally think that the ride has run it's course and has created a very bad image for itself. I hate to see any coaster lost but this is a area of that park that could use a breath of fresh air. The land that SOB sits on has a lot of potential for multiple coaster designers. In the long run I think the park and public would be a lot happier with something else there.
  18. I wouldn't count on it. The park has said multiple times that a decision has not been made about the future of Son of Beast. I would think that if they planned on opening it by opening day a decision would have been made by now. In my opinion I see them considering the option of re-building/re-profiling the ride or replacing it all together like Hercules at Dorney Park. We will all know soon enough whether the ride will be open on opening day as April 17th is right around the corner.
  19. I have to say that I am thrilled that they have let us know that a new website is finally coming. The old Paramount style sites are very out-dated and provide very little information with horrible navigation. Hopefully a new site will also encourage the park to use it for getting information out there faster then we are used to now. I will give them credit that they are getting better by using Facebook & Twitter to give regular updates about the happenings around the park.
  20. Already have my tickets! can't wait!
  21. I like some of those on RCCA's site. I had never saw those. Thanks for pointing them out.
  22. Hello all, Once again I have come to share some more of my photographs. Now this time they are not the most beautiful shots. Heck they are hardly the quality of most cell phone cameras today, but none the less I have run across over 20 pictures of a Son of Beast construction tour from 1999. These pictures were taken by the very first Digital camera I had. I'm not sure that it was even quite 2MP. I have posted some here but to see even more head on over to my site http://www.gravityphotography.net Enjoy!
  23. Thanks for all the great comments! As I mentioned in another thread I had taken more Panoramic photos that weekend as well. So head on over to the site to see 8 more awesome panoramic pics. Here are a couple to get your mouth watering. http://gravityphotography.net/ptr/kipan51/panrwcw.htm
