  1. They're probably just doing it to carry on a conversation a random rider next to them on Drop Tower started... lol
  2. Hmmm. A rather interesting (and probably not correct) interpretation of Don's tweet. Why must everything he says be construed as being about Project 2014? I was talking about KIC's reply to Don's tweet. Either way, those tweets may, or may not be about project 2014. I personally, believe they were.
  3. Hmm...If KIC's tweet was accurate. That would mean literally, only one person has guessed correctly so far. That leads me to believe that it won't be an invert like a lot of people think it will be. Ruling out all the obvious joke suggestions, there are a couple ride types that only a few people have suggested like a Floorless B&M, an Intamin Blitz coaster, or even a B&M Stand-up (which I don't think it will be a stand up). Could we maybe be seeing one of these types in 2014?
  4. I'm not specifically defending YoungStud. I am saying, people, in general, have a right to come on here and express their opinion. Even if it's different than the majority. I haven't seen too many "troll" posts by YoungStud. I just see him stating his opinion a lot. But that's what forums are for right? Discussing things, and adding in your own opinions on subjects? And, I am also not saying everyone has to like every single member that posts here either. That goes along with the whole "Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion" thing. What I am saying, is that it's ridiculous for people to say he needs to get banned. For what...exactly?
  5. Nope, I'm definitely in the right thread. All of these threads are basically tied together anyway. Here's an exact quote from this very topic. Anyway, I am just sick of people saying "oh my god, theez n00bz r so annoying!!!? I cant beelieve that a new ride @ Kings Island would bring so many annoying people here!11!1!" When half of them were "n00bz" when Diamondback was being built. Some people act like they own this site, and don't like new people with differing opinions. They were new on this site too, once upon a time
  6. I just searched on Google for "Banshee Owl" and it brought up this result http://rivelata.pbworks.com/w/page/6152215/Banshee%20Owl I couldn't find many other results finding a specific "Banshee Owl" but it's interesting nonetheless!. On another note, many people believe the wailing of the Banshee in folktales to actually be a Barn Owl's screech.
  7. I don't really see how him stating his opinion about Intamin is a way to just "get a reaction". He is merely stating that he believes Cedar Point would be nothing without it's collection of Intamin rides. Whether you agree or disagree, he is allowed to have an opinion. Anyway...people seem to just look the other way when B&Ms have their share of downtime. Last time I was at Cedar Point Raptor was down for an extended period. ( I think this was two years ago) While on the other side of the park Millennium Force and Maverick were running just fine. Sure, for the most part B&Ms are pretty reliable, but they aren't the flawless, never down gems that people make them out to be. Every ride has it's share of problems now and then. i would take an Intamin Giga or Intamin maverick style ride over a B&M any day.
  8. I have my doubts that tonight's announcement will be about the new ride for 2014. Why would KIC announce it and not the park? That doesn't make any sense.
  9. Son of Beast with it's loop-2000 Firehawk -2007......
  10. They are probably talking about guest's reactions to ed Alonzo
  11. I have a question for people assuming it's an invert. Don't all B&Ms have a lot of parallel footers anyway? Look at Diamondback for example Maybe I'm missing something?
  12. Glad you had fun on your trip to Kings Island! If you go during the middle of the week again, expect the lines to be a little bit shorter. The park tends to get pretty busy when Spirit Fest (or whatever the Christian concert is called) is going on. Also, like Interpreter said make sure you ride The Beast at night, make it your last ride of the night! It's definitely an experience you won't forget!
  13. I think a lot of you guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill. sure there are a few "trolls" but I would hardly say it's "unbearable" to post now. The more topics and posts about "Just stop talking to the trollz" there are, the more the site gets cluttered. Sure some of these posters are annoying, but I wouldn't say they are breaking any rules by posting here. Don't they have a right to post here, even if they are annoying and have disagreeing opinions (on virtually everything lol). For all of us that have been here for several years, we should be used to the amount of new people that join when a new attraction is being added. A lot of the "trolls" that were around for Diamondback's construction, stuck around and became normal functioning users.
  14. I'm really excited to see what they do with Action Zone. With Diamondback, Rivertown got a complete overhaul, and Vortex got painted. With WindSeeker, Coney Mall got all the pathways redone with paver stones, and fresh paint and landscaping. Since Action Zone isn't really themed to a behind the scenes stunt area anymore, I have a feeling the changes will be more drastic!
  15. They added seatbelts to the Diamondback bins recently. they weren't there at the beginning of the season. They did this to keep people from opening the wrong bin and putting their stuff in the wrong one.
  16. This topic has got me thinking. I remember a few weeks ago someone from B&M said that if their client would like a launching coaster, they would be willing to do it, since the technology worked well on The Hulk. What if we got a ride similar to maverick, only from B&M. A low to the ground terrain coaster with multiple, fast paced inversions, with a launched lift hill. While, I'm not really sure Kings Island needs another launching coaster since we already have Flight of Fear and Backlot, it could still be a neat concept.
  17. If Project 2014 was similar to Leviathan or Diamondback, wouldn't we have begun seeing a second set of footers grouped together. Like with Diamondback, you have to transfer track area as one large grouping of footings then a 180 degree turn, then the other area of grouped footings for the station. With this, at least to me, it looks like we only have one set of footings like that, and that's probably for the station?
  18. If you are going on a Saturday, just go ahead and get Fast Lane passes. It will make your day much more enjoyable. Lines can get pretty long on saturdays! Have fun at the park!
  19. It was great the first season it started, but I think it's time for it to go. I think if we get this "Royal Fountains" show that is rumored to be in the works, then that will be the end of Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular.
  20. I had this exact idea when I was 8, right after Drop Zone got installed! (I played roller coaster tycoon all the time, and had it in my head I was going to be a ride designer, and always came up with ideas lol) This looks awesome though!
  21. Inside the park is the only way I eat Larosas anymore. When I get it from any of their restaurants it tastes disgusting. I think the sauce is different. I would rather get Papa Johns or even Little Caesars than get Larosas from one of their restaurant locations. Most people I know agree that it's better inside the park.
  22. I hate to say I told you so! (Okay, I really don't hate it). When the "Diving in on a meeting for something planned later this summer" I said http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27275-starting-to-decode-2014/page-35#entry515453
  23. I can't imagine it being THAT difficult to modify the station platform to allow a different track type to run through the station. It would definitely be less expensive than building an entirely new station. However, with the way the footings are now, it doesn't look like it is going to be used for the 2014 attraction. I wish it was...
  24. I think it will make Action Zone look kind of tacky to have two buildings sitting there empty the whole year except for during Haunt. Club Blood is okay, since it's mostly hidden from view during the normal operating season, but the Son of Beast station just looks really crappy. So does a huge metal box in Rivertown....
  25. Diamondback finished construction in January 2009. It's not like they put the last piece of track in the night before Opening Day. I'm sure they are fine on their construction schedule.
