  1. I wouldn't say they all are. -King Maple, who remembers reading about Armia Krajowa.
  2. Couldn't agree with you more on that one chef, perhaps you need get out to the Experience in Vegas for your next article!
  3. Karen, that is something I have always looked forward to at Kings Island. For the most part I have had good experiences when visiting with a handicapped friend, whom is paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheel chair. The best experience I ever had was at The Beast around June 2005. Myself, my friend, and our daughters had climbed all the way up the exit platform of The Beast, not even to the top yet, we were already greeted by an employee and yet another employee who met us by the back gate ready to get us some seats. Generally I have continued to have great experiences with the handicapped policy at the park although Karen, I will warn you, a little birdy told me that the there may be a new policy passed down from those behind desks in Sandusky...........one that does not improve access or experience...
  4. But Chef, wouldn't that statement be more relevant in the "Scientists try to breed whales with cows" thread? -King Maple, trying to figure out what Gene Rodenberry ever approved the freelance script for Star Trek IV.
  5. Thanks Chef, this will come in handy if I ever attempt time travel again.
  6. Hell Interp, are you trying to make this into some big?
  7. I second that KIfan! I hadn't seen this video before and after seeing it today it really donned on me how awesome these photographs are. Seems like there has been so little news out of the park this off season.
  8. Cedar Point obviously has a much larger work force. I believe the reason you see so much diversity there is due to the large amounts of international employees in all departments and the fact that Cedar Point offers dorms and housing for their workers. To date, Kings Island does not offer a similar housing program for employees and under Paramount there were no more International employees in the Rides department at Kings Island after 2004. This has yet to change since the Cedar Fair acquisition.
  9. If they'd show it a little TLC and get ride of the trim brake on Racer, it wouldn't lack umph at all. Other than that, I agree with 2,500,000,000% No, then it would just be a maintenance nightmare and be rough as hell. The trim brake is there to prevent having to constantly give the ride TLC, same reasons they exist on Beast.
  10. True, that does sound better, especially since they'd remove all the rides and make it just a waterpark like they do at all their other parks that pose a threat to their more successful ones.
  11. Actually, there are times when rides are stopped on purpose and evacuated. This can be due to many reasons from an unruly guest to a mechanical problem noticed by the rides crew. The evacuations are carefully done and follow park approved procedures. Just because their is an evacuation does NOT mean there is an accident.
  12. Cedar Fair could purchase it and call it Kentucky Kingdom's Wildwater Kingdom.
  13. No arguing here, those are all very valid points. I would really like to see the food department improve but when they pay minimum wage you can only expect so much The Rides department starts their workers out at minimum wage, and while there will always be a few bad apples, my experiences with that department have always been good. From when my youngest daughter worked there, to when I visit as a guest.
  14. I wish there would have been aerial pictures from this off season. Maybe WLWT will fly over in their "whirly bird."
  15. Which was a quote attributed to the parks media director, the one in charge of such announcements. I highly doubt that they would have made up a quote like that then stuck his name on it.
  16. Wow, just, wow. It was a representative of Kings Dominion who confirmed it, not screamscape. They quoted John Hagel, the marketing director at Kings Dominion, who said Kings Island and Carowinds rides would fall in line. Screamscape's credibility is not at question here. Take a closer look next time.
  17. Unfortunately, and in accordance with KICentral policy, this seems to be CONFIRMED: http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_island.htm
  18. The park did bring it back for a little while at the beginning of the 2004 season.
  19. Finally something to tear DonnieJB away from Lt. Dan's Bar!
  20. Also, according to: http://www.wlwt.com/news/15245776/detail.html Kings Island officials said that more new name changes were to come. So, Chef, even though the website doesn't say it, it could and may still be a name change in the works.
