  1. You should have seen the snake over at coney maul the first haunt weekend!! Personally, I am upset with the trees being destroyed, but I understand things must change. I just hope they are replaced elsewhere in the park. Oh I am quite sure that they will be replaced......with concrete.
  2. Copyright just one series. Make the entire area AVATAR. I'm only joking, of course. Although a non kiddie coaster themed on the Fire Nation would be totally sweet. Seriously though, for the kids area, Snoopy would be nice to see. Then again so would Hanna Barbera. But I like to think of myself as a free thinker. I would also enjoy a brand new concept be presented to the table.
  3. Great Trip Report Avatar!!!! AWWWWW, The Pop Century...That is where I stayed for my first trip EVER to disneyworld. Those pictures just make me feel all good inside. Thank you so very much for that!
  4. Here goes....I think that the feel of the reptile should be there. Imagine being outside, looking at the image of the snake that was generated earlier. The fangs hang way down below either side of the doorway, and they do have a fog effect. Then you walk into a building. All around you are facts about Diamondbacks, images on the wall of their skeletal system, digestive system and etc. And as you walk around the room, posters, and plaques reveal up to date information about the animals. As well as old forgotten myths. Behind glass, there could be a replica of the inside of a herp house. Featuring hanging prongs, and hooks, for the feel that the animal is present. There could also be a desk with written data on the animals observed behavior, and a massive REAL snake skin displayed on the wall. A real Diamondback skull could also be displayed. Fangs could be displayed in a jar, and and a sign could read.."Caution, Venomous!" There could even be a replica of various tools, and even jars of antivenine. The building, at some point could give the appearance of walking through a forest, with the appearance of great tall pine trees all around you. ( Kind of like E.T. at Universal Studios ) Speakers could create the sound of a Diamondbacks rattle, and it could come and go anywhere throughout the building. ( this effect would be as you are getting closer to the actual ride. ) On either side of the line through this replica forest, could also be bushes, and pine needles, and leaves. ( pine needles, and leaves don't need to be real ) This could be the ideal environment for the snake, and animatronics ( relatively cheap ) could make the leaves move as if something were under them. Another cool effect here could be just visual. On the left and right sides of the line there can be dirt and sand ( not real ) that have been laid down in a small trail, along with some smothered grass and weeds. This gives the appearance that the snake has been moving through the line. And finally there could be some fake snakes ( although appearing real ) lying in pine needles, or on a log. There could even be a real or fake snake skin stretching from a log. ( Log does not need to be real ) This would be my personal ideal line for Diamondback!!!!
  5. See, that is so respectable. I feel like a point has been made to me with your comment. I never did enjoy any of the paramount ( anything ). But it is because I was so deep into a comfort zone with what I grew up with. All that I can say to you is that if I have learned anything from paramount's era it is this...despite all of the new things that make you feel uncomfortable, you will still be able to make good memories. Because it does not matter what you get to do and see, it's that you and your loved ones can enjoy the memories together.
  6. When I drove past the park this morning, they were out repainting the parking entry gates. A small detail, but a welcome one.
  7. All that I have to say about the Cincinnati Zoo, Gordon, is that you did not take enough pictures. Maybe I should not say too much. But, let's just say that much like dear old swan lake, much of what you see is about to change. A lot.
  8. I like drinking Sobe and Life Water. But I prefer a good minute maid Strawberry/Kiwi to all of them. This article reminded me of something. I was driving through Wilmington, Ohio weeks ago, and I did see a Pepsi truck ( a box truck ) with an ad for Kings Island on the back of it. Would this be a good hintaroo?
  9. I would certainly like to go, but by that time, I won't be anywhere near this area. But I will make up for it by going to Disneyland at some point.
  10. Look at it this way. For everyone who is desiring to have a new riding experience in 2008. This is your opportunity. It will be a whole new view of the park to ride that half of The Racer while going forward.
  11. I enjoy going up the lifthill, lying down and backwards.
  12. The animal rights activist is stepping in?? I've read your comments a few times over, and I'm confuzzled. I'm confused about how being a member of the Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is going to gain you access to animals previous existing conditions. This is information that is usually shared between zoo curators, and if necessary, attorneys. Until recently, it is not even a guaranteed factor that you can recieve all information regarding animal treatment and health, if any. You see, at the time that Lion Safari shut down, the business regarding animal caretaking was in the finalization process of a transformation. One leading to very specific animal records consisting of the animals birthplace, owners, parents, pedigree, developing monohybrid/dyhybrid crosses, disease, treatment, daily care, vet checkups, etc. Because only in the last 20-30 years have zoo's actually decided that animals need to be examined, and housed in a very delicate manner. And most of this improvement has only been in place for around a decade. Up until this point, it is admitted that animals did not recieve the best of care. I'm not going to go into details. There are simply too many to name. If you are interested in knowing a vast knowledge of zoo history, please look up "The Introduction of Zoo's and Aquariums" by Samuel Steinbeck. You will find that even Kings Island's Animal Habitat is listed in the book. But it is text for advanced readers. Many children ( whom I encourage heavy reading ) would probably find themselves dashing to their dictionary every other paragraph. I am not trying to belittle you Sora. I am trying to give you a reference to look for, which might give you some of your answers. After all, I'm a big Kingdom Hearts fan.
  13. Goodness, it has been years ago, but I remember going to Kings Island towards the end of the season, and a friend and I rode The Beast. It started to snow just before we got on the ride, and for one reason or another I didn't think about the consequences of riding Beast in the snow. ( I think I was just overwhelmed with the new riding experience ) Bottom line is that The Beast in the snow HURTS! It hurts A LOT! The snow stings your face like getting shot with a pellet gun. I remember having to close my eyes. Hurts just thinking about it.
  14. I always liked the James Bond movie in the FX Theatre. My favorite line was Bond on top of the Train and asking "By the way, how tall are you?" to a tall opponent. Then the mans head hit a tunnel. I remember laughing at it so hard. But that has been so many years ago, I don't know, I'd need to watch it again to see if it's still as funny today as it was then.
  15. Remember Son of Beast? Granted nobody was hurt on this ride as a result of bad weather, but what if they were? The park would run an investigation, the park would be investigated, lawsuits would arise from the situation, and the ride would most likely be shut down for quite some time. Probably a repeat of what really happened on this ride, but for a different reason. And more importantly, people could be hurt. Why not avoid this altogether? I feel that it is in all of our best interests that the park takes action under even the most moderate of weather related circumstances.
