  1. My trips are usually unplanned as well. I will be there opening day, but usually am there every Friday night from 6-10 for the 1st two months. After that its usually Sundays as long as its not too hot..lol ONce it gets too hot, its usually Boomerang Bay, then we start coming back to KI when it cools off. The 1st two months on Fridays is the best as almost everything is a walk on. :)

  2. We went on Memorial Day expecting the water to be freezing. As soon as we got there, we jumped in the pool to get used to it and then went to the slides. We weren't cold the rest of the day. It really wasn't too bad.

  3. We got there around 430. Waited about an hour for The Beast, then everything cleared out VERY nicely. Between about 730 and closing we rode SOB, Flight Deck, SOB again, Viking Fury, AE, Red Racer (the ride op let us ride twice) Dodgems, Vortex, BLSC and then enjoyed our first nightime Beast ride of the year!!! My kids and I had a nice evening at the park.

We arrived around 6:30 and walked on almost everything. BLSC was the only thing closed. Was on Drop Tower for the fireworks! That was nice!! :)

  4. You might want to wait until things are solidified for whatever they're doing for Independence Day before purchasing tickets. Last year they did it on July 3rd and some people went to the park on the 4th thinking that they'd do it that day. In the past, they had done several "Nights of Fire" which usually lasted up from Independence Day through the weekend, or the weekend through Independence Day, whichever was shorter. I have no details right now as to how Kings Island will be celebrating this year, if at all. Details to come, I'm sure....

My friend called and was told that admission after 5pm is half price. Anyone know if this is true? I can call, just figured I would check here first.

  5. I will not ride Drop Zone...I don't like how small the seats are..it gives me th willies

I will not ride SOB..and yes I have ridden it since they took the loop out...but when your going though the helix's ( or whatever they're called)..It feels like my spine is being pushed out of my backside. I am always really sore after riding it.

I won't ride the Monster until they figure out a way to load all of the passengers at once...you spend more time waiting for the passengers to be loaded than the actual cycle of the ride.

on drop zone u will get a better view of those deers!!

Haha thats funny. I won't let my son ride Monster either...it takes too long to get everyone on for such a short ride!

  6. A friend of mine ran into a problem on opening day. We stopped at a stand in Nickelodeon Central to get some snacks and instead of being charged $16 and some change, her debit card was charged for $50 even. Nobody knew how to fix it and we had to sit there for an hour before Loss Prevention finally called and said they would refund the entire amount. Other than that, the only problems we had were the height requirements being different than last year. The kids were able to ride AE last year but were 2 inches too short this year! I understand its for their own safety but they were so dissapointed.

  7. My son is begging me to take him tomorrow night. He is 7 and I told him how scary it is supposed to be. Is it really that bad even if we were just walking around and didn't go into the attractions? We have a pass so it doesn't really matter if we left soon after getting there. Just looking for some insight.

  8. Yes, the handheld scanners still show your picture. I don't think hardly any of them actually check the picture though.

LOL, We went in the BB gate on Friday and I wanted to see for sure and purposely handed my pass to my son and they did notice by the picture that it wasn't him. We just switched back though. I just wanted to see how much they pay attention.

Yesterday we went through the main gate and I watched as we were going through the line. They really don't look up to see if you are the correct person. Just bugs me that anyone could possibly get by using a pass they didn't pay for...

  9. If I remember correctly, Drop Zone has been closed for over a MONTH now, and news reports said over a week ago that the ride would open within days. I know that drop zone has been waiting for a new part, but and as far as I know the ride has been completely dead for a long time. My question is has anyone seen testing or work being done to the ride lately? Or does anyone know if the new part has arrived yet? It just seems odd to me that we keep hearing that the ride is going to open soon, but it hasn't showed any signs of life in weeks. I don't want to start any rumors though...

I was there Friday and Sunday and saw no movement at all over there. The cables are still missing too. Doesn't look like it's going to be anytime soon.... :(

  10. Thats funny. I posted about that a month or so ago. After all these years, thats the first time I'd noticed it. When I was at the park about 3 weeks ago, the gate was actually open...(loud, suspenseful music insert here...lol)...

That is so weird! I was there last night and said Wow, I have never seen that, wonder what is up there!

  11. I have done the walk before and it a decent walk.

Yeah it is. I have made the walk through the park, through the parking lot, and parked by the entrance. I suggest parking by the Boomerang Bay Entrance and then moving your car when you're done because it eliminates a several minute walk and you're already walking around the entire day anyway.

I am only going from 5 to close tonight. Not a big deal to walk there afterwards.

One more thing...the scanners they use at the BB entrance are just handheld and don't show the pics do they? How do they know if its the passholder? Come to think of it, even when we go through the main gate, they rarely even look at the pic..
