  1. I got my pass processed today and saw Vortex and Fairly Odd Coaster testing. It seems like the logos and such have been taken off FOC's trains, though they still have the same colors.
  2. I hope the flood clears up soon. I'm on break this week, and I wanted to go down to Coney to re-apply for my job this summer, and possibly take some pics or something.
  3. Yes, Python's rough, but what do you expect? Coney is a smaller park, and they can't afford to have the best rides ever...Don't complain unless you think you can do better.
  4. I still say that Coney's best option at a new coaster would either be a boomerang or a wild mouse. Both are models with many variations, crowd pleasures, and not as expensive as a custom ride (normally). Aside from that, I think Coney is heading in the right direction. Yes, it would be cool to get a new school flat like a topspin or frisbee, but Coney is a Traditional park.
  5. Great to hear. Personally, I'm a bit sad to see Freeway gone, since it was the first ride I ever operated. Aside from that though, all is well. I've always wanted to run a swinging ship, and it'll be cool to try out that Euro-bungee when I'm off work. (Plus the frog hopper survives and is finally moved to a better location. Yay Frog Hopper!)
  6. Interesting find. Its good to see another mini-park show up, and it's pretty close to the Mills too. I might have to check it out some time, I love that kind of place!
  7. It's kind of depressing to see Coney during the off season...Still great shots. Can't wait to see more! On a related topic, that National City Pavillion looks like it will be kind of ugly. The main building is way too tall already..
  8. My suggestion on planning for trips is to try and make alot of the parks in the same chain. For example, this May I'm taking a trip to KI, CP, KD, Dorney, Hershey Park, Busch Gardens Europe, and Kennywood. As you can see, the first 4 parks I listed all are owned by Cedar Fair, so getting a Maxpass will save a good deal of money.
  9. You got me depressed now, Rob. No one coming for the rides? I understand that more people go to the waterpark, but I'm still usually pretty busy on 50% of the rides when I work them. Anyways, I'd love to see something cool at Coney, but lets be realistic here. 2008: Relocation of slide, construction of Riverbend, new shows. 2009: Swinging ship-type ride by Lake Como (it can fit with some clever path rerouting) 2010: Small-medium coaster in the back half of the park.
  10. Once more I'll bring up my Accellorator/Maverick style theory. Those empty buildings near wings can be used for a station/queu etc. The trees inbetween that and the lake would be launch/brakes, and the actual ride would go around the lake.
  11. They can use some of that to extend X-base, but I wouldn't bet on them developing ALL of that land.
  12. Are they SERIOUSLY putting the loop back in? Anyways, FREE VAULT!!!!!!!!!1111!!!2 Vault+Firehawk=pwnage, but your TR needed more Vortex action to complete the trinity. I might pop by tomarrow to see if SoB is up.
  13. No, I think the TPR trip was MID-August. I might be able to make this one, so I look forward to seeing you all there.
  14. YAY, Rockoplane! The ride of many unofficial names among Coney employees, though I prefer Retarded Omlettes. But yeah, I've been to Coney. Infact, I work there. You may have guessed that by looking at my sig, or reading this post. Getting back on subject, looks interesting but I'd almost rather stick with Wonderpark. They have a coaster there... ...and Dodgems at Coney own ALL
  15. Once again, great job Rob (lol I rhymed.) You put alot of work into this new extention, and its completely worth it. Coney Island is a highly overlooked park IMO, and I'm not just saying that because I work there. It's had an infamous legacy with multiple floods that drastically reshaped the park a few times. If not for Coney, Kings Island wouldnt even exist today....
  16. There are some of those barrels all around the park (atleast a few more by Beast). But yes, western theme=go. I'm still rooting for Intamin, but B&M could work. I just don't see them building a western ride...
  17. King Cobra. I would say Phantom Theater, but I like the Scooby shooter.
  18. Once more, the 2011 was a wishful joke. I know how much of a hassle it would be to move that thing. Also as I have said before, I dont hate Delerium. Its a fun ride. I just hate it's location with every inch of my body, since King Cobra was my favortie ride at Kings Island until they took it down.
  19. I will never let you dream of that. Alright, let me rephrase that: 2011: Remove SoB after many failed attempts at improving it, to make room for a future attraction. MOVE Delerium into the X-Base area, and rebuild a refurbished King Cobra in it's former home.
  20. Lol, no. Top Gun is a popular coaster. The only reason why the the line seems so short is that the with the length of the walk, chances are a few full trains will have gone by by the time you get there. As for Adventure Express, its a nice family coaster and KI's mine train. They arent ditching it, simple as that..(Plus it was my first rollercoaster, and I cant let anyone take that down) As for Mr. Padfoot, think of how much room Coney Mall takes up. X-Base can easily be built as a large strip in the same manor, though it will have to go through SoB's supports structure (mildly easy to do, though it may be a hassle with SoB's past...)
  21. I might do it in RCT3, but I need a good recreation to put it in (those things take FOREVER to make in RCT3)
  22. I never said WHEN we'd get the coaster, just that it would be feasible in that area. I think this is how it will go in the long run: 2008: Either improvements to the water park (asuming they still include it in park admission) OR some flats and shops to make X-Base more of an official zone. If they go the X-Base route, it would make sence to bring the path around to Top Gun to allow for another access path and to include Top Gun as part of X-Base, possibly under a new generic name. 2009: Diamondback, the accellorator coaster 2010: More general improvements, new flat. 2011: The park finally comes to its sences and removes SoB and Delerium to reinstall King Cobra and start construction on a new B&M coaster (Hey, I can dream cant I?)
  23. ^Yay, support! Maverick style might be nice, but does anyone know how much one of those costs in comparison to a normal rocket coaster? Just trying to realistically figure out if we can have 2 peak years in a row...
  24. I'll try to make it, but I doubt I can. I've already requested the 8th-10th off for a CP/GL trip, and I doubt Coney would mark me off another day....
