  1. April of 2006 for me, like others my posts are not very frequent, but I am on the site everyday
  2. Does anybody know why the bridge was taken down, seems like a practical place to have a bridge. I like all the services that were provided at the door. The place that took your jackets, and also the place that took all your stuff that you had already bought so you didn't have to carry it around.
  3. While we were cleaning out my Grandmother's house we came across some old Kings Island Drink Coasters (or thats what they appear to be?) On the backs they all say made in Japan. There is no year on any of them. Interestingly enough it appears that International Street was built into 4 sections, each section dedicated to a different culture (Italian, Swiss German and French) . I laid them out in the picture so that the Eiffel Tower would be at the top of the page, and the parking lot at the bottom with the fountains in the middle. I apologize for the lack of quality, I had to use a scanner, and am not tech savy
  4. Wow good find, looks like they did a pretty good job with Drop Tower and Flight Deck signs (I actually like the FD logo better), also looks like they had a beautiful day weather wise for opening day.
  5. Looks like a pretty good lineup this year, although there is no Thousand Foot Krutch, or Superchick Are there any other concerts scheduled yet for the Timberwolf this year?
  6. It seems as though the Crypt has a pretty easy matchup seeing as Basket Case doesn't exist anymore! Fun Ball (Mini Goblet) and Wacky Wave Runners currently occupy that building. Other games in Rivertown include Long Range, Top Glow, Hoopers, Bowler Roller ect.
  7. Part of the covered walkway still exists right after Chick-Fil-A on the left if you are heading into NU. Heres a Picture, whats left is in the bottom middle of the page. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...m=94&pos=12
  8. Coney Island does in fact have one http://www.coneyislandcentral.com/round_up.php the one at COSI I seem to remember is different because you start spinning and then the floor drops from under you.

    Rumor

Well according to http://www.themeit.com/attendance_report2007.pdf taken from the thread http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12374 Kings Island may not be ahead of Wonderland or Cedar Point but they are certainly right there with them with over 3 million guests.
  10. I am assuming that the ride will go a little faster when the wheels ware in and there is weight in the cars, but the ride seemed to be going very slow. Seeing the layout for the first time in my opinion I really don't think the ride is so great, its pretty much just a big out and back. I will say though that the ride looks extremely smooth which is great to see. I also liked the sound it made as it ran.
  11. Quite surprised and interested that Kings Island is hosting a run. I guess it will be a long run through the park? Interested to see if the run will be during park operations and how they will make that work. They could have it at 8am.
  12. Action Zone/ Octoberfest Action Blast Slingshot Rope Ladder Skyflyer Coney Mall 3pt Challenge Happy Days Diner Scrambler Shake Rattle and Roll Rivertown The Lake The Arcade Dippin Dot Depot Wings Diner Nickledeon Universe I-Street Avatar Waterpark Trail First Aid Guest Relations
  13. I have to agree here, the outside of the building is looking pretty old and nasty, at least a new roof since so it is so visible to guests. The pavement in the parking lot needs some real work, at least in the employee parking lot As far as the employee walkway near the tower I don't think a tarp will solve the problems but rather just some repavement an some new paint on the back side of the Haunted Mansion.
  14. No arguing here, those are all very valid points. I would really like to see the food department improve but when they pay minimum wage you can only expect so much
  15. There are reasons for every move that Cedar Fair makes. Ultimately they will probably do what is best for the park and the chain for the long term. They are a business and if things are not working (TR:TR, Winterfest, SOB) they can and will remove them or change them for the better of the park. Also keep in mind all of the good things that Cedar Fair has brought to the park in a year in a half Firehawk A cleaner park More shows No more paramount posters
  16. My dad's little league team was able to get a 2 or 4 person ticket package to auction off.
  17. Are there any other large amusement parks in Kentucky that this would affect? This new law really puts an unfair hurting on Kentucky Kingdom because I would guess half of their rides department was made up of minors (those under 18). So they face very bad staffing or a much higher everyday operations cost.
  18. Assuming that high density urethane is the orange hard stuff on the lap bar, doesn't the Fairly Odd Coaster still have the original padding?
  19. Guess they are not counting the 2005 winter fest shows with the large stage in the middle?
  20. That doesn't have to stop you from working at Kings Island though, you could work this year in rides, games, food, merch... and then next year if you were to go for that position it would make you a more favorable candidate.
  21. Turns out that you can still work in games while you are 15 but all the spots are filled up right now.
  22. I am shocked, guess you can't be 15 and work in games anymore? Training will probably take another week depending on how many people entertainment hires at that time of season and how spaced out the classes are. Last year I knew someone in games who worked only the last two weekends so it is possible. Although I am not sure how much work in entertainment there is available outside of Halloween Haunt in October. Even though you could only work for that month you will find that the following year you can get returner perks, and will know where in the entertainment department you want to return to.
  23. Not really sure, I doubt it, but when you fill out your application you will be given 3 preferences on job selection just select whatever position you want and they will stop you if your not old enough. The problem with 15 year olds is there are many many many stupid Ohio Labor Laws that have to be followed so many positions cannot be offered to 15 year olds.
  24. ^If things are the same as they were 3 years ago you must be 15 to be interviewed for a position, however I do believe that you can fill out an online application wait until you are 15 and then get interviewed. Make sure you know that the only two departments you can work in as a 15 year old are food and games. When I was 15 I was dead set on working one of the huge roller coasters but could not so I joined the Games Department with the intent on working the following year in rides. I ended up loving the games department so much that I will now be returning for my 4th season.
  25. Opening day should not be crowded at all with there being no new attraction announced and it being a Sunday, so don't let that be a factor
