  1. I am pretty sure that is the capacity that SOB had when it first opened, while I am not sure why it is appearing now on visitkingsisland.com
  2. Honestly sounds kindof stupid "New for 2008 Themed Interactive Billboards throughout the park" They are adding Q-TV (sp?) though.
  3. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl Interesting how Google Maps has Columbia Road extending all the way into Kings Island, and How Kings Mills Road does the exact same thing. Does this make these roads some kindof public property?
  4. I honestly really liked this ride when I rode it in the Summer of '05. The ride was smooth fast and fun and seemed to have a very long line later that day. I also liked how almost the whole ride is over the midway.
  5. Selling out the park on opening day doesn't seem like a good idea. There are many new employees on these days who really don't know what they are doing creating long ride lines, food lines and overall confusion. The light crowds on opening day are kind of nice.
  6. I think that it will really depend on how much they price Halloween Haunt. If they had like a 5 dollar charge to season pass holders and 20 for non pass holders I could see that being a success in both attendance and revenue. Another thought to just throw out there, what it they sold bracelets for $10 that got you into all Halloween Haunt attractions. That way a season pass holder could still get into the park and ride the rides if they wanted. This system would also eliminate the odd situation of closing and then reopening the park 1 hour later.
  7. Well I guess it depends on how old your kids are. When I was young (10 years ago) my family would always hit up rides like Congo Falls, Viking Fury, Octopus, Scrambler, Dodgems, Shake Rattle and Roll, Sponge-bob 3-D, The Eagles. All of which are very family friendly rides scattered throughout the park.
  8. I will be back! I love working at Kings Island so much it is about this time of year that I start really missing the park.
  9. I have heard that Disney does not let anyone officially die on their property, but yet they always officially die at the hospital, is this true?
  10. Remember it wasn't Kings Island that lost money, it was Paramount Kings Island. Paramount made the investment/risk and they lost the money.
  11. I think that the decades park sound like a pretty cool concept. You could really get into the theming with the employees the midway and everything. The only problem I see is if they wanted to add a huge ride but it didn't quite fit in the location they had picked out. EDIT: Looking at the site I would say that they could expand and include a little more than the decades and rock and roll.
  12. Train Driver this is all very interesting to read. Approximately how many animals did you have memorize for your spiel? On a busy Saturday how long was the wait for the ride? How many people did it take to run the ride?
  13. Kindof interesting because Nov. 2 they are only open until 8 to finish off the season so I guess Holloweekends will really end on the 1st of november.
  14. I took the old setup becuase while I think that the ride is less thrilling and much duller, the ride itself is now bearable.
  15. I am trying to figure out where the jump was made in the parking lot. From the looks of the tower and the gondolas I think it was in the front of what is now the seasonal employee lot.
  16. Neat Concept but absolutely not practical. I just can't imagine the operations, staying open until 1 this year was difficult enough.
  17. On those two poles on our sign I think it would be really cool to see a piece of metal track. I think it would be attract the eye a little more than any regular sign.
  18. I like how the name GWL doesn't even appear in the title "Kings Island resort hosts winter festival" and yet Kings Island really has nothing to do with the event.
  19. I bet you will see a few Paramounts still around in the 2008 season. It is just so difficult to get rid of every Paramount because the name was literally everywhere. It would be a good scavenger hunt for next year. And anyhow there will still be a lot of guests walking around with Paramount Kings Island shirts on bought in previous years.
  20. WOW 70 trips is incredible there are only like 120 days of operation for Kings Island in a single season. Some workers don't even work that many days in a season.
  21. Yes if the capacity is the same on DOT back then as it is today that line is over an hour! For DOT!
  22. I am going with the 12th of April.
  23. I gave them a B I do think that they could do a better job in terms of treating employees which is something I think Paramount was much better at. The park as a whole though looks fresher. Also ride improvements with Firehawk and don't forget they did make a good effort and possible successful effort in saving SOB
  24. As for TR:TR, off with its head!!! Hahahahaha
  25. I will reiterate it again the lines will be very long tonight, while many attractions will be closed for bare bones it will also be much less crowded.
