  1. Well I finally made it up to Cedar Point yesturday. My bus arrived at 5 after 10 so we got off and my group of buddies decided to try to head back to Marverick first to see if we could catch an hour wait or somthing smaller than normal. When we finally got all the way back there (15 mins later) it was closed. So having never been there we decided to let it go. The first ride of the day ended up being gemini which was a good warm up coaster although it was only running one side we waited about 15 mins for it. After this we knew that we had to get cracking on the bigger attractions so we headed over to Top Thrill Dragster and we waited about 50 mins and got on. I have to say that this was amazing probably the best rollercoaster I have ever been on. I really liked the Intamin rollercoaster (it is Intamin right?) as it was smooth and the restraint wasn't in my way at all. Simply an amazing ride. Then we went to get food which was a mess because we split up and had some trouble getting back together. I got a Rib BBQ sandwich from under the TTD grandstand and I would say it was great. Then we finally met up again at MF and after waiting probably 70mins got on. I never realized how long the ride lasts nor how steep the lift hill was. The view at the top was great and I also really enjoyed the lake wind constantly at us. From there we went right across the way to the Iron Dragon which was pretty good, if The Bat was still around today I would imagine it just like this ride. Then we rode the Mantis which was actually quite painful on my legs although the ride was fun. From there we went back to do Mean Streak which was just terrible, the ride layout was cool but when your in the fetal postion the whole time it wasn't too fun. Then we hung out as I looked at some of the games which I was kindof disappinted in the variety, it seemed the the same things over and over again. Also the two 3pt games were just kindof dead, the employees didn't seem to be having fun and the game to me just seemed boring compared to the one at Kings Island. Finally the last thing we rode was Raptor which was cool becuase of the on ride camera and it was just a great ride as well. In General my trip was great here are a quick list of good and bad things in general. GOOD -Great movement in Guest Relations as I had to get my hand stamped being an employee of KI -Loved the on ride photos and the set up -Station mics was pretty cool -Intamin coasters (my new favorite) -Special bus parking places -Generally fast moving lines -Length of rides! -Friendly employees BAD -Length of walk to different rides -Foreign employees, while I don't mind them being there it just made doing some things like getting directions and making purchases a bit more difficult. -Our games are better!
  2. Yeah there are usually pretty long lines I think unless you are riding the rides during a concert which is a pretty cool thing because they play the music so loud . I will be there hopefully for a concert or two if not I will be listening right along in Action Zone.
  3. Haha yeah I saw you running around the park. I was working at Action Blast last night and I was wondering why there were photographers around.
  4. I also rode it today for the first time the wait was about 90 minutes when everything else was pretty much a walk on. The ride was awesome there is nothing else like it at Kings Island but I must disagree I don't think the ride was so intense but just fun
  5. I will take a gander and say light crowds, but with light crowds unfortunately comes light staffing sometimes. With most high schools/colleges still in session it makes it very difficult to get workers. I know in games we have the luxary of Group Workers (volunteer workers) who can come in on days like these but in other departments like rides Group workers cannot work due to laws and such so in the morning I wouldn't expect all the attractions to be open (Octupus, Dodgems, Days of Thunder...) But the main ones I would expect open with light crowds, have a great trip!
  6. Yes today was an awesome day to enjoy the park I was there from 3-6 and I got to ride all sorts of things Face/Off, Delirium, Drop Zone, AE, Racer, Scrambler, Zephyr Vortex, Shake Rattle n roll, Beast Italian Job, Tomb Raider all in 3 hours. The park was next to empty and when I left at 6 even a usually high wait like Slingshot at 10$ had no line
  7. a. What's the weather going to be like? (seriously...) b. Will Firehawk be open? If so, expect it to be very, very busy. c. How much advertising will Cedar Fair do for Firehawk--NOW OPEN? (if that is the case). Seriously, Memorial Day itself is usually less busy than the Saturday and Sunday before it...but asking how busy the park will be on any particular day is not usually productive of a very good answer. Even the park's own estimates can and sometimes do prove to be very, very wrong. Also, welcome aboard, but in the future you might want to post your question as a new thread, not one about something completely different already in progress.... I acutally think that the park will be very crowded that weekend, memorial day itself probably not so much but I would plan for big crowds Saturday and Sunday. This is just what I think though no gaurentees

  9. I may have seen this video somehow...All i have seen is a person starting to slip out the bottom of the restraint but never really coming close to falling out.
  10. I was lucky enough to see them and talk to most of the group as they sat and watched slingshot, seemed like a pretty nice much bunch of guys though didn't see the kittens though
  11. I think Cedar Fair is doing a good job, one better than paramount. They seem much more concearned with how their employees look, how clean the park is, and how things are looking.
  12. you know what i kindof noticed that is a little interesting is that on all the other cartoons of the coasters in the park on the map there is at least one train going in circuit but not Firehawk, I am assuming it would be just too hard to portray somthing like this.
  13. I am going to go with slingshot, you get all fired up for that initial launch and when the ride is all said and done you have a prefect snapshot of the park and the skyline. Then when you get back down you get to see you video and remember the experience.
  14. Aww I really like the look of International Street while the music i agree clashes with the atmosphere its the old themed buildings with the old wood like roofs on them and the fountains and the old trees that do it for me. Sometimes after a long day of work it can be very relaxing to walk down International Street. Also I really did like the music that paramount played on International Street it was quite relaxing and went well with the fountains.
  15. Make the biggest game in the world, an obstacle course themed to an army boot camp where you have to climb swing and shoot your way to victory!
  16. Haha yes this is the first year Global Amusements Company hasn't run that game and the games department has taken it over, so we are trying to get better at it as you speak come back in a month man!
  17. Haha right here I will admit I am loud. Once a friend in the games department went to the top of the efifle tower with his girl friend and he said he could hear me.
  18. I have never done the trampoline thing and while it doesn't look too interesting I wouldn't mind taking a jump at it when I get the chance. As for Slingshot and Skyflyer they really are great rides and I have to disagree that they should be removed, also what other pay per ride would you put in skyflyer's spot since it is so tiny a spot and is surrounded on all sides. Like gburn07 said the price is usually 5$ dollars when you get there early in the morning which is a great deal.
  19. I would keep it, from trip reports i hear it is still a pretty popular ride as the line was 45 minutes+ this past weekend. Also it is such rough terrain back there I don't see anything too great going back there easily.
  20. Wow either I was not searching correctly last fall while I was looking for KI film or a lot has been added. There are a lot of KI videos I haven't seen now on youtube.
  21. Getting my first players at Action Blast and seeing SOB open up again. Also I can't wait till memorial day and all the people the park will hopefully be packed with.
  22. ah but advil requires walking across the park, and doesn't come in different flavors at ki
  23. Wow those are really rare first of all, I doubt many on this site has ever seen any pics of Vortex in construction. Thanks a bunch for sharing, while we are on the topic of old ride construction pics are there any pics of The Racer or Effile Tower in Construction
  24. haha allright! we did make the pictures I am all the way to the left in the truck!
  25. The uniforms never bothered me, while I would never ware them out and wear them in public compared to what other companies have to wear I think they are quite comfy. When I went to Paramounts Great America in California they had to wear these shirts that looked more like dress shirts. Now at GWL we had some sweet uniforms in the arcade because they are really light weight and comfy. They just need to work on their nametags cause no one can read them beyond 5ft away.
