  1. As to the research: I tend to doubt going from 3 people to 9 people is a significant difference to make any claim. Nor has it seemed to have ever been repeated, and it probably wasn't controlled to check for people's personal differences in attraction. However, I didn't read much on the study and am just basing this on the way it was phrased by Uncle Henry and if anyone found the stats for the study that showed a significant difference and showed me wrong on the other aspects I'll be more than happy to admit being wrong about it.
  2. Going to point this out see how it goes over. Just because year round school is going well for you doens't mean it works for every district, and the new studies that show it being good can be equally as bias as the ones against it. They could just study schools that it does work for and what not.
  3. some rides yes, but skycoasters are so different and exciting and they are still spreading I don't see them going away anytime soon.
  4. If you put them all in one area then people might tend to avoid them, by spreading them out people ride the non pay rides then see the pay and are like oh! Let's spend money!
  5. I'd really like to see a good air time coaster. B & M invert would be ok but they aren't particuarly thrilling compared to a good air time coaster. And I still argue against wanting to remove skyflier, it's such a thrilling experiance and draws in good crowds during the summer.
  6. skyflier and slingshot are pretty popular... eurobungee is crap though. Skycoasters are very fun rides to have in a park.
  7. I agree with above guy, last big coaster was sob and it lacked smoothness, airtime, reliability, and pretty much everything that a good tall steel coaster could bring. Anyway, you all are forgetting the one most important change they need, to get rid of spongebob in 3d please, 4 years is enough.
  8. Geauga Lake area has a lot of old people, old people probably don't ride the big rides, thus taking them out means it looks better in the old peoples eyes who in turn bring their grandchildren. Six flags messed up by taking out sea world which was a major part of the attendence for the old folks. Also since SV is a lim it probably makes a nice big electric bill, and x-flight probably had high maintence cost with those trains. All of Cedar Fairs decisions make sense to lower costs and attract the old folks again, and when there's old folks there are grandchildren!
  9. Personally I think they should add an inline twist that slants down and to the left to fill the gap.. ya that's what they should do.
  10. That's cool that you planted trees on the river cory, considering dykes and what not are bad for pretty much everything. They cause horrible soil erosion and in the long run cause more problems than they help
  11. If you want to know more about rides associate PM me. I'm sure if you ask for other positions people will be willing to elaborate.
  12. FoF photo came back when the regular season started back up.
  13. I would hope you're being sarcastic, as if not, you are judging a man by a few posts on a forum and not what he actually does in the real world.
  14. I know it's been said, but we are required to test ride each train on a coaster. And there is only so much we can clean with a pan and broom.... And we also can't be constantly doing it especially with a line. I love to GR while test riding it's a way to make yourself more personal, you're not just a ride associate that wants to run the ride that way.
  15. I find it funny that on the SOB fact sheet they say breaks instead of brakes and they still say 6 cars per train, though who knows, maybe it'll be that way again!
  16. they'd have to be like 60 feet tall which isn't realistic.
  17. Lighter trains won't necisarily make the ride faster as if it's lighter wind resistance and any other type of resistance will have a great effect on the trains and it will be unable to hold its speed as well (less momentum).
  18. This is probably absolutely nothing but I feel like adding it for pure amusement, on techinicians section under jobs it says you need to be able to work up to heights of 370 feet. Last time I checked highest point was 315 or something(give or take some as i'm not 100% sure!) Now, discuss flame and argue!
  19. Videos of it kind of dissapointing, wa shopeing for something bigger.
  20. Have only read some of the first page of posts, butproving negligence is very hard. They have to prove that someone did something wrong in their daily routing or that if they did do something wrong they were improperly trained to do it in the first place.
  21. Actually associates are trained not to tell guests what is wrong, by saying it's doing it again he lets the supervisor or whoever he was talking to know what's wrong while not allowing the guests to know what specifically was wrong. Thus, he did his job.
  22. i'm actually being insanely sarcastic. . . hence the dot dot dot.
  23. I hope they don't have funhouse or superstition this year... I'll probably be there way too much.
