  1. I went through Saturday night and like others have said, the entrance to the maze paired with the old house to the left was themed really well. They had some guy on the porch pacing back and forth screaming at people to go away. He did a really good job of seeming authentic. He reminded me of the the Errol character from season 1 of True Detective if anyone watched that
  2. Saw the flames this past Saturday. Man, can you really feel the heat off of them, even from a good distance away! Very cool look for international street though.
  3. This also eliminates much if not all of the cash monitoring that needs to be done on games associates
  4. Crazy what people will do for money. Neat park concept though.
  5. A bit of an update, but no real answers http://thescoopblog.dallasnews.com/2015/02/a-lot-of-questions-about-promised-3-5-billion-fort-worth-theme-park-but-not-many-answers.html/
  6. So I came across this news story about a very large park apparently being in the works in Alabama. http://www.al.com/news/huntsville/index.ssf/2015/01/can_a_3_billion_project_be_pla.html I am curious as to what you all thought about this? Seems pretty mysterious that it seemingly is coming out of nowhere and the city didn't even know about it. I also have never heard of DreamVision and didn't know if someone on here had any insight?
  7. If the new park is unique and fun, I say why not. I only fear that they get too big and fragmented. I'd hate to see another situation where the new park turns into what Hollywood Studios is now to some, a park in need of some work. I enjoy all Disney parks, but it might just make more sense to expand the current parks.
  8. As Terp pointed out, a stand-alone campground (unfortunately) wouldn't bring in enough revenue to stand alone. It would be an interesting/exciting move if Great Wolf offered some sort of outdoor camping experience, but they would obviously have to extend their brand on that one. Sorry for getting this convo off topic..
  9. probably not the best location for it, but it would be nice to see a return of a Kings Island campground
  10. Dang it, reading this thread has me really wanting Phantom Theater back again! It would be cool if the park could somehow make new versions of the old props/animatronics with today's technology. Same look and movement, but more reliable engineering and whatnot. Imagine the fanfare.
  11. Anyone think this could be a re-theme to the "LeBron coaster" idea CP said they would do?
  12. Enjoyed Dollar Days today. Maybe about a 5 minute line for Banshee ice cream and it was really good! The rain probably held off most of the holiday weekend crowd. I am glad that it wasn't as crazy as I, and some others on the site, thought it might be. Although there was a minor who asked my buddy to buy her a Mikes Hard Lemonade while in line at the LaRosas. He didn't, but it made me think of all the funny people-watching that was brought up on this thread.
  13. Just wanted to confirm, are the Bring A Friend Days every day during Aug 30-Sept 1?
  14. Please Don't use One word posts........ don't and one are not registered trademarks. As such, they aren't capitalized here. Terp, who............wait a minute.
  15. Nice find! Clears things up. I will sleep tonight with that peace of mind haha.
  16. Personally, I think the rule should be if you can eat it while inside your car, it's ok. A PBJ sandwich or some drive-thru is no big deal. The people that throw a family reunion picnic in WindSeeker 37 (I don't know if that's actually a row) probably shouldn't be allowed to do that though. In the end, it all comes down to clear messaging. The policies can suck, but as long as the park clearly communicates them via signage in the lot or where you pay parking, it's hard to dispute. PS if anyone does ever want to have a cookout or something before KI, I live close to the park! BYOB though. (Bring Your Own Barbecue, of course)
  17. I think the most sensible option for the policy that benefits both sides would be to prorate the price of the pass as a previous post mentioned. This lets the park charge people fairly for what they are able to ride at the park, while also not making the guest pay for more than they are able to use. If you can ride all of the rides, it's only fair that you pay as much as someone else who can ride all the rides and paid full admission for it. I'm sure there are a lot of instances where parents buy Junior passes online for their kids who they know are taller than 48' just to scam some money. Not saying this is one of those instances, but the park does need to be protected of that. I like the idea that they should measure anyone wanting a Junior pass at processing just to establish a baseline from the beginning. After that though, enforcing the policy would seemingly be difficult to me. How do they/did they catch someone who has a Junior pass but is taller? Did they measure them at the front gate while swiping their pass or something? I feel like the only time people are measured is in line for rides, and it's not like they know/ask what pass you have, do they? And while this is "negative" publicity for the park, most kids probably don't care. And come next Spring when they want to go to Kings Island, they will beg their parents for a pass.
  18. Went to WDW in March. Had a great time and didn't even use a fast pass for any lines. The longest line I remember was for the Toy Story shooting ride (which sounds like a ride description that would never happen, ha) I think that was an hour or so. Soarin was also pretty slow but I don't remember how long. Sent from my Nokia Lumia 822 Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  19. I agree with everything you said. I feel like Avatar was really hyped when it came out, and while I enjoyed it, it's not like it became everyone's favorite movie or anything. The fact that 3 more are coming helps keep it relevant but like you said the movies have to deliver. The thing that I believe Avatar has going for it is how cool the theme and world could look visually if done right. The movie's setting in Pandora is very visually next-level and if they can recreate that in a park, it will be pretty awesome to experience. (The glowing tree and whatnot would look awesome at night) I'd much rather see them focus on bringing an awesome Star Wars land to Hollywood Studios ASAP, especially since Disney has a bad habit of taking way too long on projects. But like Avatar, the Star Wars road map for movies will stretch pretty far for years to come, giving Disney a lot of future movies to market with. I think that they need something big soon though to combat Harry Potter at Universal. Not that they're in really any risk to lose a lot of attendance, it is Disney after all, but at least keep the idea that "Disney is innovative" true.
  20. I have been reading a lot into Disney the past week or so as I joined a forum about WDW. I just hope all this new Star Wars talk for the parks will come to fruition quick. Sent from my Nokia Lumia 822 Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  21. Because that worked out so well for Kat Shank... Not sure what that is? But I was (mostly) kidding anyways. I feel like moving a big woodie (giggity) would be more of a hassle than it's worth.
