  1. I was at Haunt this past weekend and my friends and I decided to ride Drop Zone. Our ride operator counted down to the drop. How long has this been going on? I liked it better when you didn't know when you were going to fall.
  2. Does anybody else feel that Drop Zone should have been a Giant Drop instead of a Gyro Drop? Giant Drops offer a more stomach-in-your-throat experience than Gyro Drops do. I still love Drop Zone, but it would have been awesome if Paramount had purchased Drop Zone as a Giant Drop rather than a Gyro Drop. Does anybody else feel the same way?
  3. You never know what Cedar Fair is going to do. Cedar Fair actually has intrest in the parks, and wants them to be the best that they can be. So I am thinking that they might fix the sliding doors to the preshow room, and a couple of other things.
  4. A ride like Mystery Mine would be awesome for KI! But as much as I would love to see it happen, I don't think it will, because it is too much theming for Cedar Fair. I really like Cedar Fair, but they think theming is just in what area a ride will go in, the station's look, and the landscaping around the ride. They don't really focus on special effects like fire, fog, animatronics, or a story for a ride.
  5. What about the new park Paramount is building in Japan, or the new one they announced a few months ago in South Korea? I don't know if they are considered "Paramount Parks" but they are owned by Paramount and have Paramount branding.
  6. That would be a great ride if KI ever built it! I think KI needs a B&M hyper in X-Base, or a B&M inverted in Rivertown behind TR:TR, or in the place of TR:TR, or a B&M floorless in IJ:ST's spot. KI needs a coaster that is smooth, besides Firehawk.
  7. That would be a really cool ride. But I don't really see Cedar Fair getting into themed rides too much either, because they don't really want to put $5 to $10 million dollars into themeing for just one ride. I would love to see KI have more great themed rides, that actually fit into that area, unlike what Paramount did with Italian Job, and Tomb Raider.
  8. I think KI needs to retheme TR:TR to fit the Rivertown theme. Maybe theme it to a haunted mine, with all of TR:TR's current special effects work including the ones Paramount had turned off in the last few years. KI really needs to bring back the theme and feeling of an old 1800's town back to Rivertown as well.
  9. That is probably the reason that Paramount banned alcohol sales in the park during their first season of ownership, to eliminate the possibility of more accidents caused by drunk guests.
  10. I don't know if anybody has mentioned this or not, but the Hurricane's trains were Gerstauler trains. So maybe Maureen were talking about these. I don't know. I hope not, because the Hurricane was all pain instead of fun.
  11. My favorite places in Kings Island are Action Zone, Nickelodeon Universe, and Rivertown.
  12. I have been hearing many ghosts stories about Kings Island for a lone time now. I was wondering if anybody knew any cool ghost stories about Kings Island. I know about Tower Johnny, but would like to hear more if there are any. Amusement park ghost stories are really cool and creepy to hear!
  13. I vote Nickelodeon Universe, because it is newer, and it is a really bright, and more exciting area than Hannah-Barbera Land. I think the rides in Nickelodeon Universe are better anyway. I still like Hannah-Barbera Land, just not as much.
  14. King Cobra looked like a cool ride from the pictures. I have only ridden Delirium, and it was an awesome ride! Also King Cobra looked like it would get boring after the first time. But it still looks like it was a great ride. Was there any airtime on King Cobra?
  15. like that idea of renaming Top Gun to The Bat. I'd add some new twists and turns to it, possibly some resembling the original layout. Paint it black, resurrect the old Bat logo on the front of the trains, and promote it as The Bat Returns or Bat II.
  16. Here is My List. Old Name New Name Tomb Raider Tomb of Doom Drop Zone Skyscraper Dive Italian Job Mini-Cooper Stunt Track Top Gun Jet Coaster Paramount Action Zone Action Zone Congo Falls Amazon Falls This is all the new names I can think of right now.
  17. Why don't you like Tomb Raider? I think Tomb Raider is an awesome ride with great theming! In some ways Tomb Raider reminds of a Universal ride! Sorry you don't like it. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
  18. Wow! The qualitiy on the video is a lot better than what I thought it would be! Maybe in the next couple of months PKI will install video cameras on their Top Gun. I know this is probably impossible, but cameras should be installed on all of the Drop Zones in each of the (former) Paramount Parks. The expressions on some people's faces would be priceless!
  19. The Beast helix, because it is fast, half enclosed, and smoother than the rosebowl on Son of Beast. The first helix on Italian Job is also really good.
  20. On June 27th-June 28th, a some of my friends and I took a fantastic trip to Paramount's Kings Island. All i can say about PKI, is that this park was FANTASTIC!!! The theming, rides, shows, and restraunts were all great! I am going to start with a report of June 27th. June 27th- We all left Kingsport, Tennessee at about 6:30 a.m., and headed up the road to PKI. We arrived at PKI's parking lot around 11:30 a.m.. Locked the car, and made sure we had everything, and began to walk towards the entrance of PKI. After walking through the entrance to PKI, I was amazed at the theming, and the Eiffel Tower. I thought International Street was fantastic for some strange reason. Well, we started walking towards the Action Zone(since crowds were not that bad), and then I saw Delirium woosh out over the midway. We all then hurried to Delirium's entrance, and were on the ride in about 10 minutes. Delirium was an awesome ride! I thought it was very thrilling, and fun! I was glad I got to ride it, instead of it being closed. Well after Delirium, we headed for Son of Beast. Son of Beast had no line, except for at the gates to board. All of us took up the front car. I was the only one who had a great ride. I sat in the middle of the car, and then in the seats on the wheels of the cars. There is definately a differance! Son of Beast was awesome also! It was fast, and furious, and a little bit of a headbanger, but not as much headbanging as The Beast. So, after Son of Beast, we all headed for The Vortex. The Vortex was really good. We rode in the back of the train, and had a little bit of headbanging. The only part that really hurt, was the batwing, and the helix. Other than that, the ride was really fun! Next up was The Beast! The Beast was a really wicked ride! The tunnels, the helix, drops, and curves were all really good, except for the fact that there was a lot of bashing, and banging. I loved The Beast, except for the roughness. After The Beast, was what I thought was the best ride at Paramount's Kings Island! Tomb Raider: The Ride. Tomb Raider was awesome!!! The theming was excellent, the ride was awesome, and the preshow room was really a cool place. The line wasn't too long, so we rode many times! I don't know what it was about TR:TR, but it just made my jaw drop! Next up was Flight of Fear. I thought Flight of Fear was one of the better rides at PKI. The launch was really awesome! The coaster part was really sweet also. The corkscrew at the end was so cool. It felt more like a zero-g-roll instead. I liked the theming on FOF. It reminded me of Star Trek. Overall FOF was a really great coaster! It was like a mini Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. After FOF, we rode The Racer-Backwards, which was really fun ride, and then Face/Off. Face/Off was really good! I thought it was the smoothest Vekoma I had ever ridden. More of the Paramount Parks (I know they are now owned by Cedar Fair) besides PKI, and PGA, should have a ride like Face/Off. After Face/Off, we headed back to the car, and then drove to the Comfort Suites near Kings Island, and checked in. After that we headed to Ruby Tuesday, and came back to the hotel for a swim. This ends the report for June 27th. I had an extremely fun first day at PKI, and the next day would bring even more fun, and excitement at Paramount's Kings Island! I will post the trip report from June 28th tomorrow.
  21. I am surprised also! I thought PKI would be ranked in second, or third place. Was the Aquarium ranked in 1st place?
  22. Well, I didn't go half a day Saturday, but I just got back from PKI for my first time, and I loved it. I will post a trip report later. But, Delirium was open all three days I was there. Tomb Raider, and Drop Zone were down for a little while on Wednesday, but were opened up later in the day. The rides, atmosphere, food, shows, cleaniness, were all so well done. I can't wait for a trip back!
  23. Yes, PKI really needs a good B&M. Maybe Top Gun should be removed and replaced with a B&M Top Gun: The Jet Coaster. With more loops than the one at Carowinds. I liked the one at Carowinds a lot. PKI could also use a B&M Flying Coaster. Maybe there could be a flying coaster to replace Top Gun, but still keep the Top Gun theme, but be a B&M Flying Coaster, and scratch the idea of a B&M Inverted Coaster.
  24. Do you think PKI should have a clone of Volcano The Blast Coaster? I think PKI should, because it would add another launched roller coaster, and I think it would be a good addition. If PKI were to add this, where do you think it would best fit in? I know this doesn't have a good chance of happening, because of the change of owners, but if Paramount still owned PKI for the next ten years, do you think Volcano The Blast Coaster should be added to PKI?
