  1. I have a watermark question. What's the deal with the overly dramatic lifeguards at the lazy river (can't think of the actual name)? My sister, my niece and I noticed them dramatically sweeping their heads from side to side. I'm sure there is a reason, but I found it amusing!
  2. I just now read that article myself. It's not at all funny, and thank God nobody was seriously hurt, but I laughed when I read that statement. To me it seemed so matter of fact, like it's something that happens daily.
  3. Sorry about the CP/Cedar Point confusion. I was just being lazy!!! Camden Park makes me sad because I also have many memories of going there as a child. Now as a mother, I'm leery of even taking my child there. Like several of you mentioned, antime I've been the past few years I felt so unwelcome and the employees for the most part are downright rude.
  4. They are doing nothing to put anyone at ease! Last year I was at CP for a visit with my daughter's school. I was sitting on the Paratrooper and watched the motor on the one next to it (Used to be the Rainbow, I think it's Bullseye now) start to shoot sparks and then flames were shooting from it. I alerted the operator on the Paratrooper. He ran over and told the guy to shut it down. I kid you not, when I get off the Paratrooper, I pass a guy with wire ties and a screwdriver heading to fix the ride. I was horrified.
  5. I miss the Camden Park fireworks. They are few and far between these days. I am somewhat excited about the 50th Anniversary of the Big Dipper.
  6. I really think it was changed because someone died. Seriously though, I didn't realize, or else I had forgotten about The Racer's final bunny hills.
  7. We stayed in Sharonville when we went. It wasn't too bad of a trip driving to the park.
  8. When we were there a few weeks ago we got the biggest kick out of watching people's expressions when the elephant got them. I saw the elephant before I even rode it. It's not hard to miss if you stand and watch the ride before riding it. Like others have said, it's a water ride. You are SUPPOSED to get wet.
  9. I was there on Friday, 6/22 with one of the teams competing in the GBA tournament. It was one of my best visits to the park ever! With the rain that morning, we were concerned it was going to be a horrible day but we soon realized we were wrong. We arrived around 11:30, and having a 4 year old in tow, we headed right to Nick Universe. My nephew and I stopped on the way there to ride Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle. Great Ride! From there we headed to Avatar and then I convinced my daughter to ride the "Fairly Oddcoaster". We had to wait a few minutes while they put another train on the track. She hated it. The ride ended with her in tears. I loved it. I still have hopes that I will make her a coaster fan yet. From there my dad, nephew and I headed to The Beast and got right on. Rough ride but as thrilling as ever. We then rode ITST, Vortex, Racers, Adventure Express and headed back to meet my sister for a ride on Tomb Raider. What a letdown. I've read several posts that TR isn't what it used to be and boy is that the truth. My sister and I were trying to figure out what was different and finally I suggested the special effects weren't working. I was really disappointed. It used to be one of my favorite rides. We went back to Nick Universe where my daughter, nephew and I took several trips to Plankton's Plunge. We caught the last half of the Twisting to the 60's which my daughter loved and then headed over to the GBA opening ceremonies. And for those of you who may or may not have been there for the opening ceremonies, it was our team that won the purple dinosaur after the game of "Simon Says" and we went on to win the national championship! All in all I have to say it was a great trip to the park and a great weekend.
  10. We watched the 60's show too. We only caught it about halfway through but my daughter LOVED it.
  11. Looks like you live in my neck of the woods. We are about due for a Camden Park trip. My 4 year old daughter and I have season passes so we have been quite a few times this year. I still can't talk her into even going on the Little Dipper though. And can you believe, I haven't had a Hillbilly Hotdog yet? I'm gonna have to put that on my list of things to do. Glad you had a good trip.
  12. Hence the state's request that they repair the one section and allow testing of the entire ride...along with the parts removed as a part of that process...The investigation is not complete. Oh I understand that. I just mean, people are going to be skeptical and want to be assured it won't happen again. However, I don't think that is a reassurance ANYONE can give. I mean, they can test the ride until the end of time, but that doesn't guarantee it won't happen again. Which may make people apprehensive about getting back on it.
  13. That made me truly laugh out loud. That would be awesome but hard I would think. So funny. I have a picture in my head of someone rolling their eyes, or with this blank expression on their face OR like checking out their fingernails, like people on TV do when they are bored.
  14. One thing that concerns me is, will this happen to other sections of the ride? What caused it in this very section? I know this isn't something that they can predict or explain, but I do think people will want to be reassured that this was an isolated incident.
  15. That guy has some really cool pictures. There are several more pics from PKI on that site.
