  1. On Hannity's America this Sunday at 9:00 pm on Fox News they're going to show a behind-the-scenes from the KI show.
  2. Good TR! I wanted to go to this too, but it being a work day (and living in Indianapolis and no longer at Columbia & N. Montgomery Rd. I could not make it... However, I wonder if Hannity got on any rides?? He'll probably do a recap of last night on tonight's H&C show...too bad though when he hits up Six Flags Great Adventure next month he probably won't be able to fit in El Toro!
  3. Can I state the obvious and ask, why is this a "Rumor"?!? C'mon mods!! Let's get this thread moved...wakey-wakey!!
  4. Yeah, I know, but they did in 03-05 when my friend worked there...is it appropriate to call KI "PKI" if you're referring to it during the "P" years?? I dunno....
  5. But so, if two people volunteered then we would still get two tickets, right? As someone who *may* be moving back to Mason (and lived there for a year from 05-06), my fiance and I wanted to do it to get some free tickets for our friends and family who *don't* have season passes (like us), but who also come to Cincy often....and while we could pay the $50 for two people, it would also be an interesting experience just to try. But thanks for the info!!
  6. A guy I knew who worked at PKI for like 3 years from 03-05 (in season pass processing, I think?) claimed you could volunteer for "a day" at KI (I don't know how long "a day" was), and in exchange you could get a free admission ticket to KI (presumably for a later date, and I don't know if there were restrictions) which you could presumably give to a friend who didn't have a season pass (if you already had one).... So my question is, did/does this program really exist, and is that how it works??
  7. ^^A guy I knew who worked at PKI for like 3 years from 03-05 (in season pass processing, I think?) claimed you could volunteer for "a day" at KI (I don't know how long "a day" was), and in exchange you could get a free admission ticket to KI (presumably for a later date, and I don't know if there were restrictions) which you could presumably give to a friend who didn't have a season pass (if you already had one).... So if this is all true, why not have a KI volunteer run this Antechamber room??
  8. ^^So we'll be able to sit on the very, very ends of either side now???
  9. ^^Yeah, it's themeing is being stripped!! You know, it *might* actually be a better ride this way since lack of proper themeing is more of a distraction than anything. But I agree with many others that, though it's cost prohibitive, if it has no theme they should remove the ceiling and walls to change up the experience....
  10. Expect "Cave Top Spin" when (and *if*....right, SOB doubters?!) the ride formerly known as Tomb Raider: The Ride re-opens....
  11. "Air bags on a bicycle??....sounds like a good and necessary idea to me!!" -CF and their safety stance in a nutshell!
  12. Way too complicated, and I got my SF season pass this year (Kentucky Kingdom based, yuck!!) for $39.99...my Maxx Pass was (I think?) $125 with the free KI parking, though....depending on how the wind blows you can kind of scam your way to free parking at CP and GL just depending... And besides, all my posts in this thread about Rivertown parking, etc. were all satirical....
  13. That's the Six Flags way!! And if they're issuing season passes like Tic-Tac's (especially the orange one's! ) at Tic-Tac prices....then who cares about admission costs!?!
  14. Ahhhhh.....but you're forgetting about a little concept called eminant domain!! And thanks to the Supreme Court decision in 2006 (or maybe 2005?), any business can seize any private property if they jump through the right hoops! Rivertown entrance (from the Rivertown parking lot) for Son of Firehawk (the 08/09 264' B&M dive coaster in Rivertown) here I come starting Friday, April 17th, 2009!! (with free parking, no less, for renewing my 09 Maxx Pass in 08!)
  15. I always knew what time it was when I heard the fireworks from my N. Montgomery Road apartment in 05 and 06! Too bad once I finally got into *really* going to KI last year, I moved from 5 mins away from KI to 1 hr and 45 mins!
  16. I think back on August 18th, 2005 (if I remember right) when I last went to KI on a late August weekday, *P*KI closed at 10:00 pm, but 8:00 pm nowadays doesn't surprise me...
  17. Actually, I have a love/hate relationship with TTD because it's conditioned me too much to withstand large drops to the point where Millennium Force is tame now!! Which is why the Maverick drop is so cool...in addition to the 95 degree drop, the launch lift adds a lot too! Hopefully the industry continues to innovate!!
  18. I say what they do is tear down some of those houses and neighborhoods down on the eastern side of Western Row Drive (where that wicked 90 degree turn is that semi's can't use). Then they could build a whole new parking lot with access to Rivertown/Coney Island/Boomerang Bay AND direct access to the new B&M dive coaster in Rivertown, and if they need more space, build coasters over the parking lot! Worked for Six Flags, right!?
  19. KI is allergic to Intamin....
  20. Would sitting in the "outer" seat in the first helix make the ride less bumpy?? Because that's the seat I've always had since it's re-opening and I think it's smoother than being on the inner one...

Ahhhh....that makes perfect sense now! Well, the ride as a whole was very tame anyway by today's standards...so thanks for the info! Btw, is that going-to-bed 4:25 am or getting-up 4:25 am?!
  22. While I'm an SOB lover, and agree SOB and Firehawk are very popular now, just don't confuse capacity with popularity....

I wouldn't mind getting some inside info here from Interpreter on it's removal since I believe if you go to Wikipedia or some place like that, the claim for KC's removal was that Togo (the Japanese manufacturer of the ride) went out of business AND (shortly thereafter) KC was also in need of some sophisticated part that KI could no longer get, and so KI was allegedly forced to remove it. But years later after seeing the Togo stand-up at Carowinds (or where ever) still operate in addition to multiple Togo's in Japan AND Manhattan Express in Vegas, what gives?! Seems to me they still could have found a way to keep it...good thing I rode it when I did in 2001!
  24. Not to disagree, but my parking receipt from Sunday says PK001 Fun Day Parking $10...did I get the wrong receipt??
