  1. I took the Winterfest survey also, I didn't notice in the pricing questions of the possibility of free admission for season pass holders, doesn't most other holiday attractions such as the Beach include this in with their season passes? Just kinda caught my attention.
  2. It is really nice that we don't have to pay for Fearfest this year but it is true, the lines are going to be horrible. In my opinion they should still be charging for Fearfest admission to non season pass holders, just not as expensive as it has been in the past.
  3. He's still there, just in a different spot, still on the same side of International Street. He's at the very end of the buildings that house the candy shop, candles and figurines, if you start out by the end where they sell the fudge and walk straight thru then you can't miss him, actually he is sitting next to the door that looks out at the bakery and pretzel shop.
  4. According to PKI website information it states "All of Paramount's Kings Islands's heart-stopping, take-your-breath-away thrill rides will be in operation throughout FearFest. (Please note that Hanna-Barbera and Nickelodeon Central will close at 7 p.m.) Crazy31088-to answer your question it sounds like yes.
  5. Welcome Jimmy Jamz, the area you are talking about, the antique cars I know have not been in use for at least the last couple of seasons, I also have thought that it would be a neat idea to have a coaster from one side of the walkway to the other, do something like they did to the Corkscrew at CP, where you could walk under it. And by the way, I did manage to catch the smoothie place open a couple of times this season, which is also the first I think that I've ever seen it open, traffic in this area is rather slow since the antique cars shut down. Does anyone know why this was closed? Also with the Rt 666 attraction at Fearfest are they going to use only the other cars or this also? seems as though if they only run one then it's going to be a rather slow ride with long lines, if they were to open up both sides it would go much faster.
  6. From past experience I would definitely not take children under the age of at least 11 or 12. Looks as though there's going to be lots of things to do during the day for the children but as far as staying later in the evening I wouldn't take them.
  7. I saw this on the news this morning also, it baffled me because the fact of needing this much extra water that this wasn't researched earlier in the planning phases and taken care of.

    Fear Fest

I didn't mind paying extra to go to Fearfest, just thought it was a bit high, maybe just lower the admission a little bit more, but by getting in free I feel as though it's going to be overly crowded. More people are going to take advantage of it since they don't have to pay separate, this is going to make the lines very long.
  9. Why I love PKI: 1. Not too far of a drive from home (this trip also gives my husband an excuse to go to the Bass Pro Shop) 2. The rides and the food. I used to be scared to death of coasters, when I rode The Racer the first year the park opened it made me so deathly afraid that I didn't ride another coaster til about 3 years ago, I finally rode The Racer again and loved it, now I have managed to work my way towards the bigger coasters, I love The Vortex and FOF, don't really like The Beast because it beat the heck out of me and was sore for days. Our favorite place to eat is Bubba Gumps. 3. Been going off and on since first year the park opened, have been a religious season pass holder for the last 6 years. Enjoy the wonderful feeling of when you walk in the gates and see the water and the tower you feel as though you've left all your worries behind. Being there gives me the special feeling that I'm privileged to be able to come anytime I want and there are so many unfortunate people out there that have never felt the excitement of such a wonderful park. Mrs.G said it perfectly-the furthest thing on my mind is dirty laundry, bills, bosses and household chores. Also the part of having your kids all to yourself and acting like one too! (If you have kids you'll know where we're coming from, this time spent with them is priceless!) 4. The atmosphere is relaxing and you feel safe to be there. I can turn my son loose and meet with him later and know that he is safe on the rides. That's not something that you can do anywhere these days. My list also could go on and on but it is one of my favorite places to be.
  10. Sure they have the money to do it, but I don't feel as though the demand is great enough in the area to bring in the revenue that they would be looking for. Cedar Point area has Big Bear Bear Lodge and is getting ready to restructure Radison but the area is a big tourist attraction year round with it being on Lake Erie, this brings in year round business. PKI just wouldn't make enough seasonally to make it worth their while since there is nothing else in the area to attract families during the off season months. Also at this point I don't believe they would have enough time to do anything of this magnatude in what 8 months or so?
  11. If the Rt. 666 attraction if it is what is predicted it sounds really cool! Hopefully they add some new and exciting attractions as well as some of the others, but after you've been through them a couple of years in a row they get old and predictable. Still lots of fun though. Italian Chef and others who were lucky enough to go to PKI this weekend-I'm glad you had a good time, I wish I could have been there also. Anything would have been better than sitting in a camper in the rain for the last 3 days. Thought about going on the 28th of September but since it has been added as a bring a friend free day I'm going to stay away, instead I'll wait until Fearfest and come for a couple of days then. Everyone stay dry!!
  12. I know this is very much off the subject, but when I was there yesterday feeding the fish we noticed how nasty the water was getting, never have seen it this bad before, could it be from everyone throwing their leftover food to the fish?? Also, this has always been on our minds at seasons end, what happens to the fish there in the winter?? Like I said really off topic!! Just wondering.
  13. Today I made my final visit to Waterworks since I will be camping next weekend, while on the lazy river I talked to one of the lifeguards, she told me that they were not taking out the water park, only taking out a few of the older slides, adding some new attractions and updating the entire area, at least this is what she told me. She seemed pretty excited about the changes to be taking place and said that everyone would like it??? Only time will tell.
  14. Answering bignathan4403 questions...definitely will be going, have went every year, well worth the visit, season pass holders get in free but even if you have to pay to get in it's definitely worth the price, considering area haunted attractions prices. If I remember correctly there is about 5 to 7 attractions to go through and the rides also, I've never had a problem getting on rides during Fearfest, usually they are all walk-ons.
  15. I was kinda wondering the same thing, my last visit was on Sunday the 10th and it was shut down and drained???
  16. This really is tough, my guesses are... "I walk on water" something to do with Wipeout Beach?? "sand, pit, net, ball" volleyball going into Water Works?? "London Bridges" a bridge connecting Water Works to main park?? "Picard, Janeway, Sisco" something to do with Star Trek?? the rest I'm totally lost on
  17. The Forest Gump movie, I believe is played from beginning to end, over and over, and over, and over.....
  18. seem to remember one name listed on the recent survey I received, could it have something to do with "greased lightning?"
  19. Sounds good to me. Just remember to end it on a positive note like BoddaH1994 recommended, maybe something like "I know this is alot to remember, but most of all don't forget to have a wonderful day here while visiting Paramounts Kings Island!" (then release the rope and watch 'em run).
  20. In my opinion, the dress code-as long as you have on the proper uniform that identifies you as an employee that is fine, if you're not tucked in that is ok, just not the "drooping shorts", that to me looks awful. Name tags-if you're on the clock and actively working you need to wear the name tag at all times, if you're on break and want to walk around then it would be ok to take the name tag off, just don't be acting like an idiot, others do still see you as an employee even if you're off the clock. Walkmans and Cell Phones-while working I say no way, anything to take the attention away from ride operation would be a no no, on break would be ok. I wouldn't want the ride operator talking to their boyfriend, girlfriend, etc... and something go wrong on the ride. It's ok to carry a cell phone for emergency calls only, then make sure someone else is closeby and available to take over for you if you become distracted. When off the clock, say before or after work, change your shirt, then you can make your phone calls and listen to your walkman all you want, it's your time to do whatever you want. All-in-all, what I'm saying is, while on the clock, all of your attention should be given to ride operation and the patrons of the park. Just my opinion.
  21. Just received my mailing yesterday for purchasing of 2004 season pass. Offers are: 1)Free season long parking for the remainder of this year and all of next. 2)Free gold pass upgrade at no extra cost. 3)free bring a friend free day on Friday, August 8th. 4)Free Fearfest admission. Prices are for family of four $269.99. Individual adult $79.99. Child/Senior $64.99. Must process pass before 8pm on September 1. Must have "mailer" to get this special. I was only sent one because we didn't buy our season passes this year as we normally have the last few years. I will definitely get mine in the next few weeks. Also, the way it states, you can still get a pass offering just the free parking offer if you process your pass between September 1 and November 2, although the prices will be going up to family of four for $319.99. Individual Adult $99.99 and child/senior for $73.99. Hope this helps!
  22. Tek- thats a great deal, where did you find it? Is it available to the general public?
  23. Just checked on this myself this past week. After 5:00 admission prices are $26.99. Also in case those who didn't know you can also buy 2 day passes for $51.99 over the phone and are also offered at the gate for $59.99.
  24. I'm not an employee but I did call the park operations and ask, the operator that I spoke to was not aware of the free offer of Fearfest with season passes. I read her what was listed on the website, she said that the way it sounds it is unlimited admission. She also said that she believed that this was not being offered to Gold Pass holders. Said that there were not going to be Fearfest on Fridays as had been in the past. She said that today is Math and Science day and that she wasn't able to go through the proper channels for definite information since everyone was so busy and to maybe try back in a day or two and they should have more information by then.
