I agree, when it first opened it was really well done and liked the theming throughout the queue line with scare actors roams the lawn with all the junk and fires around, and then continuing through the exit path back to the midway with the military personnel. Not long after it premiered was cut to just the building and has gone down year over year since.

It was a really involved maze. Definitely something special. Sorely missed.

  2. Also… Urgent Scare has seen much better days. When it debuted, it was one of my favorite mazes created for Haunt. But now? It’s truly just a shell of its former self. I hope they’re able to utilize that space for a more permanent attraction and spend some time, money, and TLC on the existing mazes.

I doubt we'll see a coaster in 2024 knowing our last ride addition was a coaster. I'm honestly expecting a Soak City expansion and/or a flat ride in 2024. They could honestly do both in the same year since Wonderland is adding both a coaster and flat next year. Maybe a coaster in 2025 or 2026.

A significant addition doesn’t always mean a new coaster.

I mean a lot of that stuff seemed to be just for the 50th anniversary, I don’t have a source just speculation.

I mean, if you break down a lot of the 2022 additions you’ll see that they can easily carry over.

    1. Food - In today’s announcement they mentioned improvements to service and delivery systems. That’s definitely a positive. Any menu items created specifically for the 50th could continue to be options or options of the same caliber could be introduced (hopefully).

    2. Fireworks - The 50th show could be brought back easily if they wanted too. It would require a few creative changes, but it could be done. Even if that’s it for the 50th show, the infrastructure of the current show (projections, drones, lasers, etc.) could be used in a new show that could be just as great.

    3. Shows - I’m not sure if there are any 2022 shows specifically tailored to be dumped after this season. They could all theoretically return.

In addition to what you mentioned, you have a vast amount of general park improvements and the massive undertaking that was The Beast retracking project. That’s a capital investment worthy of being a season’s “new ride” by itself.

Much of what 2022 brought will carry over I’m sure. KI’s time in the sun will be coming.

I was actually thinking that the other day. Have a section of the ride have the ushers dancing to happy feet like in the show.

And now that’s going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

  6. Here are a few shots of the park I was able to get yesterday (from areas available to the general public en route to Riverbend).

    A couple notes:

    1. The pictures don’t do it justice. The area looks pretty abysmal and any PR stating that they are going to use the space for “water attraction” expansions seems to likely be BS.

    2. The Games Building and Moonlite Gardens are starting to look rough. I don’t understand why you let this type of infrastructure rot away. Historical reasons aside, it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. The enthusiast and life long fan of the park also thinks it’s stupid.

    3. It was a Saturday afternoon in July and the picnic area was an absolute ghost town. So that aspect of their business model seems to doing as well as the lead paint industry.

    4. The supposedly open mini golf and paddle boats may have been operating, but they too were  empty.

What’s most shocking to me is the lack of upkeep around this now defunct area of the park. I understand that it’s not an area frequented by park guests as much, but anyone parking in that first lot to either see a show at Riverbend or have an unfortunate picnic outing planned is going to be walking right passed a number of ugly fences and unkempt landscaping.

I would assume you’d want to show some pride in whatever creative and/or business endeavors you’re responsible for, but that’s obviously not the case here.

Shout out to the ownership of the park. Most people who are this bad at their job get fired. A true accomplishment! You should be proud.

I personally think the train should make a return. It doesn’t have to necessarily stop halfway like the last time, (it can’t anymore since the haunt platform is gone), but rather take guests on a full lap like Winterfest. Each set of passenger cars can hold a large amount of people and could really help alleviate midway traffic. The train could pass by multiple scary scenes and possibly even live actors. I’m not sure how practical this all would be but it would be another haunt attraction at the park’s disposal.

Don’t quote me on this, but I think there’s a situation where the train (per someone’s guidelines) would either be able to run during Haunt or Winterfest.

Could anyone “in the know” elaborate?

If you are implying that they’ll announce the ride is coming back you’re almost certainly wrong. If you’re thinking the show will be back next year I’d say it’s without a doubt.

All do respect, I hope you’re wrong. About that first part, anyway. Haha.

Since we are talking about hot actresses in the show; Can we get some love for Willard the "Caught in the Ropes" girl?

I was just making a meme joke that referenced the original ride, so I’m not going to comment on the looks of the performers because that’s a little weird.

I’ll say this, though. Saw the show for the first time yesterday with my fiancé and we were both blown away. We spoke to a gentlemen outside before the show who suggested they release the show as an album and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a lot of fun.
