  1. fairly legit rumor. don't expect much in return after its departure i'd say...
  2. I'm guessing waterpark expansion. 09 DB. 10 Planet Snoopy change. 11 WindSeeker and dinosaurs. Waterpark has been untouched since 05. It's only a matter of time.
  3. north tolls opens and closes depending on the traffic. but it sounds like your coming from kings mills, which means your turning left into the toll roads which sucks no matter which tolls is open
  4. Drop Tower...lol...plays Right now by Van Halen
  5. One thing that is nice about it is that all the rides are fairly spaced apart and you can actually see where paths lead as opposed to last years that felt very cramped.
  6. this photo takes me back. All those queue rails are no longer there now. That spot is pretty much storage now.
  7. I said all that and all you read was control panels. THE STATE INSPECTS THE RIDES. AND SOMETIMES, THERE IS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE CONTROL PANELS. I hope my all cap sentences makes my point very clear. I'm assuming that my assumptions of this forum are wrong. I will just have to more clear and concise in my responses. I sometimes forget that not everyone understands everything about the park, not saying that I do.
  8. i forgot to add something, Once they have done the above, and yes sometimes there is maintenance for control panels, The State has to inspect them...Very important portion to test cycles
  9. replaced!? rewired!? what ones? It seems some are taking his view a little too literal. I believe what he is saying is- whatever normal PM's need to be done- are done. The off-season is the best time to complete the manufacturer's standard PM tasks- which would have to include electrical inspection & repair. OMG SOMEONE WHO GETS IT... relax ladies and gentleman, i am just a "tourist" to Kings Island...ahahahahahahaha
  10. I'd be interested to hear which control panels you think are removed in the off season. replaced, rewired, whatever they have to do, i'm not saying that they are physically removed, that my friend, would be an unintelligent assumption.
  11. Being an enthusiast of that particular location of the park. This picture is amazing, probably the best picture of flight commander i have ever seen/found. I am very impressed.
  12. for those who where actually wanting to know about when the rides will start being tested and not about peoples sad dreams of sob running this season...Having started already, maintenance has begun putting trains back on, control panels in, etc, so by the time associates report to their training they will be functional to run those days, and i would assume they the park has some sort of quota to reach before they have people ride them
  13. They do have marketing internships, thats about it..Even with a degree in organizational leadership, it might be worth a shot to apply.
  14. I highly doubt that the park just pick some random number out of the air and decided to go with that long of a contract. Im sure there were renewals in there.
  15. i think the contract for the movie doesn't go to nick but to the makers of the movie. im pretty sure they are separate in this case
  16. you are very correct Mr. Bombay, it truly is a great way to meet new people.
  17. You obviously never rode Dracula's Haunted Castle in 2004. Nothing will ever hold a candle to the sheer atrocity that was Dracula's Haunted Castle (although Meteor Attack comes in at a close second). Also, the first 3-D film in AT was 7th Portal in 2001, followed by SpongeBob 3D in 2003. Which needs to finally be put to rest. I did ride Dracula, and yeah that was pretty bad, i forgot about it until you just said something. Are you sure Days of Thunder was not 3D, i cant really remember.
  18. Ive been the park for every Spirit Song the last 3 years, i have not actually attended, but Skillet, Red, and Thousand Foot Krutch are real solid bands. Should add some excitement to being in Action Zone, if i make to that side of the park that day.
  19. I'm curious, What is everyones thoughts on Planet Snoopy now one year after it opened.
  20. Elvira was a miserable movie for AT...What happened to the good old days. James Bond, Meteor Attack, 7th portal
  21. there is no need for an elevator on WindSeeker, all the mechanics of the ride will be able to be checked from the ground, the seats, the cables to lift car, etc... this whole comparison between drop and WindSeeker is getting a little out of control, they are two completely different rides that just so happen to have height in common. Just because Flight Deck and Invertigo are suspended coasters doesn't mean they are going to operator the same...(yes i am aware Invertigo is inverted and FD is not).
  22. so back to topic, no, you cannot go on top of Drop Tower during operation. maintenance goes up every morning.....because thats where the motor is. If you have seen the mast of WindSeeker in person, it does not look as wide as Drop Towers...just saying.
  23. for the film itself yes, there is actually quite a bit of work that goes in to programming the seats correctly so it actually matches up with the film
  24. its considered at Skater Coaster by Zamperla. The park also considers Flying Ace to be a coaster and as well as Woodstock Express.
