  1. Thanks a lot BoddaH1994! One more question, you said the crowds would be slightly lighter than a typical Sunday, but what's a typical Sunday like crowdwise? Lol, I haven't been to KI lots of times. Thanks again.
  2. Hi, It's been a long time since I have posted here! Anyway, if anyone has any "prediction" at all (and I know it's not possible to be totally sure), how would you say the crowds will be tomorrow, for Fathers Day? I'm heading down there and would just like to know. Thanks a lot. We hope to get there early, and we already have our Maxx passes from CP so at least we can bypass the front entrance line.
  3. Honestly, just set your mind to it and go on. Before I went to Cedar Point last May, the biggest roller coaster I had been on was 80 ft tall. The first one I went on at CP, was, of course Millennium Force. I was literally praying as we climbed the 310ft hill...but it ended up being AMAZING. I am now so addicted to coasters, and I attribute that to MF. It's my favorite ride ever, and I was so close to not trying it! The point: Go on Firehawk and whether you like it or not, at least you were brave enough to try.

    Crowds

Hi, I'm glad this topic was started because I'm always wondering about crowds. My dad, sister and I are going this Sat. and will be sure to get there by 10am to avoid the large crowds. A question though, would tomb raider be a good first ride since it is not near the front and tends to get long lines as the day goes on? I remember when I went to CP on the day before labor day and it was crowded (1hr and 45 min wait for MF), but when my dad and I got there we went straight to the back of the park as advised and Magnum was a walk-on. So does this strategy apply to KI too?
  5. I was just thinking about when I used to go to KI with my dad and sister for the Chase days and I remembered the simulator ride/virtual reality 7th Portal!! Who else loved it? Ha, I'm so excited because I haven't thought about it in the longest time. It was great.
  6. Combat, yes it does, thanks. Sort of missed that. One last question...I was looking at the Fearfest website, and under thrill rides both Tomb Raider and Adventure Express are not listed. Will these rides be open on Sat.?
  7. Thanks for the help everyone!! We are probably going next Saturday. Will it be less crowded since it's so early in the FF season? Thanks again.
  8. Hi everyone. Possibly next Saturday or the following one, my family and I will be going down to KI. This will be my third time there this summer, but I've never gone when FearFest is going on. Just wondering how crowded it usually is on a Sat. during FF? Probably very, but I might as well ask. Thanks. : )
  9. I was simply asking a question...
  10. But is that CP's doing or Intamin's? (I honestly do not know)
  11. EDIT: Just so no one is confused, I have been to KI once this summer so the title is not really true, but the we only got a couple rides in, one being SOB, and then had to go home since my friend was sick so it didn't really count as an actual trip. Whew! I'm having a really good week! On Sunday my dad and I went to KI and today we found out we won 2 free tickets to Cedar Point, lol. Anyway...We arrived at the park at 10:15 am. Instead of walking through my day, I'll just write the rides we went on, how many times and what we thought of them. Face/Off (2) - first ride was in the middle of the train. The line moved very slowly, but it was a fun, intense ride. Second ride was in the very front (starting forward) and it was awesome until we reached the top of the other "hill", the way back to the station was sort of rough. Delirium (2) - I have been on maXair at CP so this ride wasn't very thrilling to me, but it was fun! My dad really liked it (he has not been on maXair). For some reason, I remember maXair being a lot more thrilling, but that could be because I rode maXair before I was a crazy coaster person and still a scared little thing, hehe. The Beast (1) - I liked this. It was a little rough but that's what makes it fun. It really zooms through those tunnels! Racer (forward) (1) - The ride was okay...nothing special...also our wait should have been 5 minutes but, not to sound rude, the ride ops were pretty slow. Tomb Raider (3) - I loved this! It is such a unique experience, and KI did a nice job with the theming. The flips are so much fun and the part where you are hanging for so long is scary especially for a first-timer, as you feel your restraint could break at any moment and that would be it for you. My head hurt a little during that part, but it was nothing close to unbearable. Vortex (2) - Vortex was great because it had a very short wait for a pretty popular ride (I'm guessing it's to do with the 3-train operation). A little rough but it's still a great coaster and those loops are really fun! Viking Fury (1) - Ok, I know I know...but we decided to do this after we had lunch, to see how our stomachs handled it before "experimenting" on a roller coaster. It was really boring, but it may have been okay if we sat in the very back of either side. Top Gun (1) - after having our first ride on FOF, we decided to give Top Gun a try. A guy walking solo next to us turned and said, "Are you going to Top Gun? It sucks. It's a 5 minute walk for a 30 second ride that sucks." Well, we decided we'd judge for ourselves and we agreed with him. Why does Top Gun have such a huge path...I mean does it ever get crowded? Also, it was very short. It was okay on the aspect of "fun" but it was short-lived and left us waiting for something more. Flight of Fear (3) - LOVED IT x1000. Hehe, my dad and I both really like this. The only other launched coaster we had been on was Wicked Twister at CP, so we were nervous but it's so much fun. This was my favorite. The funny thing was the zig-zag things inside the building were all empty, the only line was from the building entrance straight to the UFO. So when the TV showed the picture of the "civilians" in the "quarantine area", there were none. A negative thing I noticed about the park was (aside from the crazy food prices) most of the employees seemed like they hated their jobs and did not care about making the guests excited about the ride. There is one exception though - Tomb Raider. The one guy was great "Enjoy your ride on Tomb Raiderrrrrrr, the Rrrriiiiide!" and after it was over he began singing, lol. Anyway, I don't know, I could be a little harsh since I tend to compare with CP, which has amazing crews. Overall, though, I had an amazing day as did my dad. KI is a wonderful park and definitely worth visiting at least once a summer! It has a nice variety of rides and I think it would be impossible to go there and not find a ride you really like. KI =
  12. Thanks again everyone. You all have been so helpful. (and yes I'm aware of SOB's status) One last question...Aug. 20 is not a bring a friend free day is it? How do I know which days are (will it say it on pki.com calendar)?
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone We will probably go on Face/Off first since it's so close to the entrance. I've been to KI before but that was a few years ago when I was young and wasn't the thrillseeker I am now, so all the rides I'm going on now are new to me except Vortex (my first ever coaster that goes upside-down) The only other big ride there I've been on is SOB...which...well...hurt. Hopefully it won't be too busy since it's Sunday and on the 20th of Aug. For the past few days the weather forecast was thunder storms but now it's changed to mostly cloudy/clear which is great. How crowded do you think it will be? I do have one more quick question though - I saw this coupon here and printed it off http://www2.paramountparks.com/kingsisland...coupon_bogo.cfm I just wanted to make sure this coupon is valid and people have used this before? I guess I'm paranoid but I worry about things being frauds - the deal seems a little too good to be true, but hey, I'm not complaining . Thanks again...
  14. Hi, I'm most likely going to KI next Sunday with my dad and sister, and have a few questions. Thank you in advance to anyone who answers them, I appreciate it. -Is the regular one-day adult admission $38 or $50? Online it says $38 but I don't know if that's just if you buy the ticket online, because my mom has heard that a ticket is $50. If it is $38 online only, we will definitely buy it there, but I just need the confusion cleared up, hehe. -Which rides usually have the longest waits (which one should I go on first)? I love roller coasters, and would love to go on Face/Off, FOF, The Beast, Vortex (I've been on this one before - it started my coaster craze!), IJ:ST etc. -Since we're going on a Sunday in mid-August, will the crowds be heavy/moderate/light? I know it's impossible to predict, but an estimate would be nice. Thank you so much.
