  1. 1983 - "May 13 - A teenager was killed after falling from the Eiffel Tower He was in a restricted area when he fell." Source: PKIC History section I believe he was on the 50ft observation tower. Although this happened on this tower, I am under the understanding that it isn't the reason why it was closed. Mainly it was from people spitting and spilling drinks from it to the partrons below. Ryan
  2. Nah, it had to have been something else.....
  3. A girl fell out of the Flight Comander, yes. It was deemed to be a design flaw in the restrains, to my understanding. The Oktoberfest part was close. From what I understand, the first man went in to retreave a hat and was shocked, and his friend as well as a security guard went in after them and they were both killed, but the original man survived. It was due to a problem with the recirculation system, I believe. Ryan
  4. You may have noticed some errors on July 27-28th around midnight. This was due to routine maintanance by our wonderful server, Nexigen. Regards, Ryan
  5. Wow... Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. You're thinking of Black Sunday. On that day, all of the incidents were due to malfunctions which had little to nothing to do with the judgement of the park.
  6. I've never been to PKD, but regardless of what happens, my heart will always be with PKI! ***Moving to the Battle Room
  7. lol.. Yeah, where are you coming from? Basically it's about 20mins north of Cincinnati. No matter which direction you're coming from, you can't really miss it. It's right off of 71.
  8. <<After seeing the parade twice, we headed over to Spongebob to check out the A-Bomb explode in the background. I had never seen that before, but it is really random and seems to have been thrown in there as an inside joke possibly.>> At what point in the movie is that explosion?
  9. I would never accuse PKI of operating a ride that isn't safe. Even a lot of the "out of towners" at Beastbuzz were commenting about how PKI has a reputation for safety.
  10. What do you think of the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade? Personally, I am a big fan of it. Granted, I don't even recognize most of the characters, but the floats are really neat, the dancing is cute to say the least, and in the spirit of Nickelodeon, they have a whole score of upbeat music to guarentee that you leave in a good mood. Ryan
  11. True, but with metal detectors, they're more likely to end up seaching your bag and finding it.
  12. It's less about terrorism and more about someone bringing a knife or gun into the park.
  13. Pure speculation, but my deduction is that the campground attendance has dropped, while hotel bookage has risen in the past few years.
  14. darn, Sparky... you really make the thing sound safe.
  15. Don't get too excited though. It's possible that they could be just announcing that they are getting a new ride, or maybe just the name of the ride. Regardless, don't expect full details. Ryan
  16. ....or you could just look on any of the three pages. It'll be all over the place.
  17. At least he has his own site, unlike somebody who takes credit for Aaron, Tyson, and Pat's hard work. And yes, the Chippery is awesome. The sea salt chips do taste like regular potato chips, just with a lot more flavor.
  18. Yeah, probably just a glare. A UV lens could help.
  19. I have seen a lot of them deflated and sitting around the water park. I'm thinking that maybe having too much pressure on one side makes it fragile.
  20. It happened to Dane too. He was very upset and had to be comforted.
  21. yeah... the point rolled right past you, official call: error. He's absolutely right. If ANYTHING were to happen to the people in the park, the park could be held responsible for keeping them inside. I mean, even the lady who had the unfortunate incident on Top Gun would be an example. Her husband could have said that she didn't feel well all day, but she didn't want to pay for admission twice. Also, how can a park stop people from going to their cars? I know that I entered and exited the park about 5 times yesterday to get my camera stuff, to put it away, to get my swimming suit for CDBB... that would cost several hundred dollars to do if I had to pay every time I went in. The whole underlying concept is that you're walking a tightrope between price and convenience when it comes to food. Yeah, it costs about $8 for a meal at PKI, but it's a hell of a lot more convenient than going all the way to your car and driving to McDonald's isn't it? Ryan
  22. Sure they can. They can give you a fair warning before the ride stops, and if anyone snapps, they'll just e-stop it. That's what other parks do. Also, I have the unfortunate responsibility of informing you guys that the Eagles have once again broken down. It seems like the problem is a lighter version of the problem they had before. With persistant problems like this, perhaps we are seeing the end of snapping.
  23. Thanks for the kind words, but Dane got some amazing shots in as well.
  24. Hey, I didn't want to bump the parade news, so I'm just going to put it here. I have uploaded a handful of new pics, including a few from the parade that we didn't have before. Now, the parade concludes with a float that shoots out foam! Click here to check them out. PKICentral.com "Where we have so many photos that it makes actually coming to the park obsolete." Regards, Ryan
