  1. I'm not saying the blue print is real or fake, this is just what I decoded from the blueprint that was posted....(fyi this is done in RCT2, so of course it has limitations, but this should give you an IDEA of what the blue print is portraying) (im not gonna be bothered to decode the rest of the blueprint LOL, unless someone here asks me nicely)
  2. Ohhh some people gonna be getting banned! *grabs popcorn*
  3. Who else is excited for the World's Fastest Teacup Ride? <-
  4. This is drawing closer I'm getting super excited and everything seems to be falling into place quite smoothly
  5. I don't think you're understanding something here. Vortex turn into the brakes is banked, and from the video it looks like the brakes are applied more harshly than the brakes before corkscrew. What are you talking about "15 different types" of ridiculous? I'm starting to loose faith in your so called "facts", in fact I'm just going to label them opinions. I'm pretty sure on a boomerang, there are vertical turns(half corkscrew into a half loop). You still failed to address several points that I'm asking. Take FoF for example, I'm pretty sure there were a few others who believed lap bars wouldn't work on such a ride and now look? All I'm saying is, it is possible for Vortex to receive a train with a lapbar/T-bar design. Also currently OTSR don't really keep my upper body "stabled" during the ride, your upper torso can have the same movement as it would on diamond back. Maybe I should of changed my name to Fact Smasher or Opinion Smasher. LOL There is actually an old thread somewhere here on the site, that bring up this very same subject about lapbars on Vortex, Im pretty sure a very knowledgeable person proved that these would work on Vortex. (wheres AZ Kinda Guy when you need him!)
  6. The only issue with that is that Vortex NEEDS OTSRs. The forces on Vortex require some sort of stabilization of the upper body, and those restraints wouldn't do that. They work on a Boomerang, but think of that turn after the loops and just before the corkscrews. That turn, coupled with the slamming of the brakes, basically require shoulder restraints. Sorry that made ZERO sense. 1. What forces does Vortex induce that Boomerang doesn't?(aside from turning, see number 2) 2. The argument that you need OTSR for a train that is turning & braking is ridicules! Look at FoF/Diamondback/Racer/Beast/Adventure Express/Woodstock Express, they all induce some type of banked turn & brake(especially FOF & Diamondback those brakes are very strong and abrupt) and they all use lap bars. So the theory that you need an OTSR to control "upper body" for braking & turning is just silly. These trains are possible on Vortex. Also heres the POV of the boomerang coaster that currently uses the lapbar train (notice at 2:04~ the train enter the station and the brakes are applied very abruptly, kind of like Vortex's) no OTSR needed there, so why would OTSR be neeeded for Vortex's brakes?
  7. I wanna see Vortex with this type of train(it was introduced on a boomerang layout coaster) http://freizeitparkweb.de/cgi-bin/dcf/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&forum=DCForumID39&om=2691&omm=148&viewmode= Only thing I would add is padding on the lapbars http://rcdb.com/1093.htm?p=0
  8. IF HTCO does indeed work for the park, he could actually be fired, so it may be luck on his side, that the post was deleted(unless one of you took a picture of it, if so please send it to me)
  9. I think there are a few posts in this thread that prove there was no green track and the poster was just seeking attention. Make sure you read ALL the posts! welcome to KICentral
  10. Yes yes my stafford is climbing very high indeed. Oh allegedly there was a hole in a wheel.
  11. I was paying for tuition that went up. I think they wanna kill us college students with this kind of debt.
  12. You CAN bring your own food to the park, you just cannot take it in the park and eat it. Pack a cooler full of goods and you can go out and eat in a shaded area in the parking lot, I usually bring a nice big picnic blanket and drive the car over to a shaded grassy area and unload the cooler and the blanket and wola enjoy your meal, after you're done just pack everything up and go repark and re-enter the park.
  13. If people would try to ride in the front of FoF, they would indeed feel & see why the front is the BEST place to ride on FoF
  14. Looks to me its going to be the perfect place for a teacup ride! I've been wanting one of those for years!
  15. I too avoid "Chik-ful-a-hate" Best options money wise Check out the back yard BBQ buffet Get in your car & drive south on I-71 and get off on exit 19(tons of fast food & restaurants and only 5-6mins~ from the park) Get in your car & turn right onto Kings Island Dr heading towards Kings Mill Rd, there is a small selection of sit down restaurants & fast foods) I only buy certain park food while at KI (blue ice cream, river town potato fries & funnel cakes) and I pack my own lunch. It works out and saves money. If you're visiting KI on a Thursday, I HIGHLY recommend T.G.I Fridays super money saver and lots of good food and drinks(only if you're not driving lol) Also if you're looking for a buffet, your best bet in exit 19 on I-71
  16. Will you also be offering this to Non-vegetarian & Non-vegan? Your dress code must follow KI's dress code. so no you cannot dress as sexually perverse or as provocative as you want. !Tickets have become available online! Link posted
  17. The real question here is, which is pulling and which is pushing
  18. Gordon told you what to do, You're allowed to go up the rides exit, call over a ride OP and ask to see if you fit in the seat, most guests are unaware that you can actually do this and it saves you wait time. By the stats you gave, I think you will have trouble finding a ride that you fit in. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/2012%20Guest%20Assistance%20Guide-KI.pdf
  19. Maybe its cause its a steel train on a confined track going 55mph. (and how much does an usual train weigh?) Even your everyday bicycle ride has to have some bumps
  20. Yea, 2003 was the last year that my family of 8 also stopped buying season passes, wasn't worth the kicking n screaming and meltdowns. Through the years us individuals kept going to the park, but probably once or twice a season apart from when we were going twice a month due to my brothers schedule.
  21. We had to stop taking my brother(severely autistic)after they implemented the wait policy. During Paramount era, you could just get a handicap card(it looked sorta liked a business card) and walk right up to the exit and the the ride attendant would either wait 1 train ride or ask people in line if they would give up their seat for us. 99% of the time, we got right on or just waited 1 train ride. It was perfect, my little brother would be happy and we would have no melt downs. then the change came to wait(this was still in paramount era aswell). Our first trip, it was explained to us how the new policy works, if the wait is under 15mins you'll get right on, If the wait is over 15mins you'll be given a boarding time to come back. ALL HELL broke loose when we were given a boarding time. My little brother, if something was slightly out of his routine or he knew something was different, it was war world. I think we only spent 45minutes in the park before leaving. We knew we could never go back there again because it upsets him way too much. Needless to say I haven't been able to go to Kings Island with my brother for over 10 years now, which is very sad, because I love my little brother and I cant enjoy one of our favorite places on earth with each other anymore. I think the policy should be tweaked, I think the ride attendant should ask if anyone wants to volunteer their seats to the handicap person, or if the wait is less than 15mins, just get them right on. edit: spelling errors
  22. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2901-drop-zones-new-seats/ Looks like in 2004 is when DZ/DT got Volcano's seats. Restraints: http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/news/archives/november99/stories/110599_01.shtml As for rotating, thats actually has to do with the motor that runs the wheel on the lifting mechanic, last season I was lucky enough to have rotated all the way to the top. Sometimes I've ridden it and its NEVER rotated.
  23. I dont know dates but, Pretty sure the seats that are on DT now are old Volcano seats The restraints got changed after a kid fell to his death at Paramount Great America actually I'm unsure if anything I stated is actually true, Its 2am and I've been up 20 hours.
  24. Theres a member on this site, that knows Drop Zone/Drop Tower very very well, his name is "AZ Kinda Guy" Give him a PM, I'm sure he be more than happy to share his vast knowledge about the ride. Edit: I'm not 100% sure, but I'm 99% sure the magnets actually just slow you down, what actually stops you are these prongs that are sticking up out of the ground under the tower, you can actually see them when the carriage is lifted up.
