  1. All the rides were officially closed at 11:30PM. Wind Seeker/Drop Tower Closed at 8pm. They actually kept some of the rides open when they should of shut them down.

I know one thing, I got to ride Drop Tower with lighting in the sky, one of the BEST DT rides I've ever done, was amazing seeing it at that view(also a tad bit scary) we turned out to be 2nd of the last rides on DT.

Also I know The Beast and Diamond Back were still operating when there was lighting.

From my list, all rides officially closed at 11:30PM due to the storm being so close, But the earlier ride closing i got due to Lighting were DT & WindSeeker @ 8pm, between 8pm and 11:30 Most of the Coasters were still in operation.

List of rides I rode last night when there was heavy lighting

    Drop Tower

    Delirium

    The Beast

    Diamond Back

    Firehawk

    Flight of Fear

    Monster

(these rides were ridden between 8pm and 11pm)

  2. 1. (Brad) Aintnutinelse2do bringing 2 friends Austin & Josh, light partying at KIResortInn after, Cedar Point Saturday

    2. (Adria) TheKlockster - getting there around 5:30, homework Saturd

    3. (Cody) RumorSmasher - Getting there at 5 o'clock (rides open at 6)

  3. Oh so let me get this straight....

You were off enjoying all these water slides while your towel soaked up some sun with your 1 friend guarding 3-5 chairs that just have a towel on them?

BB1, you're very lucky that anyone wanting those chairs didn't get a park attendant. In fact I'll tell you a little story.

Once at KI, Me and 5 of my friends were at the SC(making a grand total of 6 of us) We like to lay out and enjoy the nice Ohio weather and then we go into the wavepool for less than 10mins and come back and layout again(some of us would go in pairs some solo, just when ever we would get too hot, so most of the time 3-4 of us were at our chair section)

Well we get to the park and oh looky here there are 8 chairs with 8 towels on them, but *gasp* only one person in one chair!

Theres a golden rule that must be followed "towels on chairs don't reserve them, people do"

So I ask this lady if she knew who all these towels belong too, of course it belongs to her family that 2 of them are riding whitewater canyon and the rest are in line for slides. I ask her if she minds giving up 2 chairs. Well as you know the 2 people on WWC need them so badly for when they get back.

Me and my friends went into the wavepool, decided to watch the chairs(i guess at this point we could of found 6 chairs but i like to stand up to bullies and selfish people) we gave it a time limit of 30mins. 30mins go by and *gasp* no one has even came back to fill these chairs up. What happens? we take 6 of them and fold up the towels and put them on the remaining chairs. Now this lady throws a fit. Park attendant comes over, I explain the story. Park attendant ask where the remaining family is....Well the lady trys calling the 2 that are allegedly riding WWC. No answer. She then tells the park attendant (and by now security) that the others will be back soon. Well 15mins pass by and man what do you know, family still no where in sight. We can keep the chairs! So the lady huffs and puffs but eventually quiets down. Family comes back(45mins later) asking where are the chairs? Well lets just say we got a nice tan and a family got kicked out of the park that day.

Hope you enjoyed my story. Don't put towels on chairs if you don't plan on being there for more than 15 minutes.

  4. Thank you for posting this. I am wanting to go if at all possible. I think it would be a blast!

Its one of the best nights to go to Kings Island. Best part is that it is closed to the general public & free of protesters.

  5. This is what happens when a park nickel and dimes folks into buying ridiculously expensive lockers. People try to take short cuts by hiding their stuff and then CC/money/personal belongings get stolen.

(Sure they could've gone to their car and never left their stuff unattended) Maybe they should lower locker prices to alleviate this problem...

People leaving valuables out in the open is not KI's fault.

No ,but one would argue that it is KI's fault for having high locker prices.

A few things come to mind in these type of situations

    1. Now that the guest now has had personal belongings taken from them at the park(whether its their fault or not) 99% percent of the time they will now share this experience when they're talking to a fellow friend about KI. Maybe this friend will now be turned off by going to KI because who wants to go to a park where thieves are?

    2. Why would the guest not use a locker? Price? The Hassle? Sold Out? Unaware that KI has lockers? I'm sure theres lots of factors.

One thing is for sure though, if KI offered 2 dollar all day lockers, do you know how much more people would actually spend the 2 dollars? How many more people would tell their friends about this amazing deal and no hassle and no worries about people busting open lockers?

    3. Sad to say that people just don't care about other people. Most of the time a thief will find a bag and they will think "they're so stupid to leave this out here ,they deserve it"(just to show how sick minded these people are) and its the sad truth. I hope they catch these rats and put them in the slammer.

  6. Did anyone catch the accident that happened on The Beast today(6-26)?

Little guy, about 6-7 years of age came off the ride with a bloody mouth/nose and bloody shirt.

Felt sorry for him, apparently on the 360, his nose smacked against the restraint causing his nose to gush blood.

You guys feel the height requirement was an issue?(this kid was short) Discuss.

(FYI, The Beast opened 20minutes later after the incident)

  7. Long story short, I need to get a locker every time I go to KI. I'm being dropped off everytime, so I can't store my stuff in a car. The cheapest lockers (for all day) that I know of are $12, which adds up when you go many times.

Are the $2 lockers that are available for 2 hours at a time regulated? Should I take the risk?

I've heard that there are other all-day lockers throughout that park (like across from the festhaus) are cheaper, but I've never really checked. Does anyone know if this is true?

What items will you be taking with you?

  8. I have to go to Pride Night this year! I worked the event on Vortex and Monster back in 2005, and I have to say it was the most fun night I had there. I've always wanted to go again but struggled with how to explain it to my conservative family.

Last year I came out as trans, but didn't have the extra money to attend (lots of car trouble) on top of having an unreliable car. But this year, I'm going for sure! Can't wait!

Really excited you can attend! A lot has changed since 05! The crowd is much bigger! A ton more entertainment through out the evening hours! More families go now!

  9. She has a couple of options here.

a.) ask for the passes back.

b.) report the passes missing and pay the fee.

c.) report the passes as stolen and file & bring a police report and they should replace all 3 passes.

KI will never grant two usable passes for the same person.

  10. The ride was one of my favorites - the restraints weren't the easiest to get into, but if you followed the directions, they weren't painful.

I think being 6'5" didn't help me! lol

I am 6'5 too, I didn't enjoy it at all. Btw, if, you are 6'5" do you ever get turned away from Delirium? I have rode it over 30 times, every once in a while a ride Op stops me(measures me) and tells me "I cannot ride" I explained, that I had already rode it that morning with no problems. Anyone had a similar experience?

Delirium as well as a couple other rides have a max height limit.

Delirium has a 76inch max height limit, since you're 6'5 you go over that.
