  1. Oops. See, this is what happens when none of the TV shows are new, all days seem the same.
  2. To call what happened on SeaWorld's Sky Tower Monday an evacuation is misleading. They were up there a long time, but they got the cabin back down before unloading. An evac, by my definition anyway would involve exiting the cabin when it is still off the ground (like what happened when I was on Sky Trek Tower at Six Flags Great America last June). Though looking closer, I see that this topic was likely posted during the event, and that basket certainly had me thinking an evac was coming.
  3. I suggest you read about the event being held this year at Six Flags Great Adventure and re-evaluate your assumption https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/special-events/holiday-in-the-park/news-release
  4. ^ Um, I wouldn't mention Condor at the moment. It has been down all year. Based on my observations, it appears they are dealing with a part in the center of the ride.
  5. As long as I have been going to the park, SFGAm has always allowed single riders on Whizzer. Also, if you choose SFGAm, a night ride on Whizzer is HIGHLY recommended. As for the lack of "classic" rides, the park has Whizzer, Demon, American Eagle, and Little Dipper. Additionally, the park is one of the very few that still has two Arrow Flume rides. Also, the park has a large number of classic flat rides. If you do end up choosing SFGAm, get to the park by 9:30 and go directly to Goliath when the gates open. After Goliath, continue around the park hitting Eagle, X Flight, Raging Bull, Viper, and then cut back to Demon. Most days you should be able to make it through all of those before hitting any lines. If you visit on or before August 9th, I'd recommend you purchase a Gold or Platinum Flash Pass online in advance. After August 9th, the crowds let up a little bit and I'd say not to buy a Flash Pass in advance and see how the crowds end up being. Superman and Goliath have Single Rider lines. For Superman, head up the Flash Pass entrance between the ride entrance and the gift shop. This one almost always results in a walk on. For Goliath, inform the employee at the entrance you are a Single Rider, you will be directed to the Flash Pass entry up to the station. There is usually a short wait, but if that line is coming down the stairs, AVOID at all cost.
  6. They only have three storage tracks. I don't think it will be too much of an issue though, as I imagine any modifications to the 2nd Timberliner would be made prior to delivery. Then they would probably swap the "Ravage" train and 2nd Timberliner on a Monday or Tuesday to have time to complete test cycles before the weekend.
  7. No track has been seen at SFGAm. The only part that is confirmed to be at SFGAm is one support, which has been there since November. No other pieces of Chang has been seen at SFGAm (besides the trains, which accidentally appeared in the backgound of a video for the local news a few weeks ago).
  8. ^ I don't think seatbelts alone will have an effect on the Classic status. Big Dipper at Geauga Lake is a coaster classic, with seatbelts. http://www.aceonline.org/CoasterAwards/?type=1
  9. For wind, the reason the tower rides shut down is because the lift cables start blowing and slapping the tower. I know at SFGAm, regardless of the wind speed, if we notice a cable hitting the tower, that car (our tower in a 2nd Generation) is removed from operation and maintenance parks it at the top of the tower so the cables aren't exposed
  10. I just got the webcam, all 3 trains are on the storage tracks, transfer track is in the "home" position
  11. Just to give some more insight into the restraints on the B&M hypers. Nitro is the only one that has ever had the cables. I've ridden Raging Bull every year since it opened, never had them. Every B&M built so far has used ratcheting restraints and I doubt Diamondback would be different. As for verifying the restraint is secure, for the computer to register the restraint as secure, it must be down to the 3rd click. Most B&M hypers have a line at the base of the lapbar to estimate it, however, Behemoth didn't have the lines. The control panel has indicator lights for each row. If the light is solid, the row is secure, if the light is blinking, one or more of the restraints in the row is not secure. As for the test seat, I'm sure KI will get one. I cant think of any B&M hyper coaster that hasnt had one.
