  1. I would share mine but I got in trouble for doing just that before...
  2. -The usual "I'm driving!" "No you're not I'm driving!" "I'm older so I drive!" "You get everything because you're older! I can't wait until I'm older than you!" fights. -Having the honor of being driven through Route 66 by Dan "Nerves of Steel" Wagner.
  3. It didn't drain completely like WWC did last year while we were on it but the water flow on the drop dried up and the water level dropped at least six inches, a ride operator went up the steps and hung with the kids on the boat going up, nobody looked upset or anything. Everything broke down at least once. Maybe I'm just not used to going this early in the season anymore, I'm not complaining. BC (before children) I went every opening day. Haven't made it before June since 1992. What a great weekend. Lots of highlights...like those footlongs...
  4. Pretty much hit and miss, although last weekend the lines were much shorter in the morning than in the afternoon. The "hit and miss" is because so many rides had temporary breakdowns, from 5 minutes to an hour long, you could take your chances and choose to wait it out or not. Overall, not bad at all. Have a great time!
  5. We will be there both days (leaving here shortly), this is our only chance to make it until mid-June. Love to see any of our PKIC-day friends, or anybody we didn't get to meet that day... (Tomorrow is "Trouble's" 13th birthday.)
  6. Not to be dense, but how do we get one?
  7. Re: Anyone who would choose to put on a show instead of grieving the loss of their parents is a fool. What a hurtful comment. I don't know if you've suffered the loss of a parent. I lost my father at age 19, suddenly, unexpectedly. There is nothing you can do - but hurt. If you sit and dwell it hurts more. Most parents (myself included) would not want our children to put all aspects of life on hold to grieve. Grief is a personal thing we handle individually. There is no one-size-fits-all. I had the pleasure of meeting Weird Al last year and he is a wonderful, genuine human being and by all accounts his parents were proud of him and close to him. He is the only one who knows what their wishes would have been and it's not our place to judge. He "chose" not to disappoint his fans in this instance, and whatever he further chooses to do in his grief the very least he deserves is respect.
  8. Dane, trust me, you need spell check! Looks great!
  9. His hair is adorable, like the rest of him. Happy shampooing! Take care and enjoy every second!
  10. Weird Al is coming back this August. We may even make it this time.
  11. We were at the shoot in November '02, at the time we were told it was for Extreme Rides, but it never aired or was mentioned again and I'm starting to believe it was a dream... Regardless, if anyone would be willing to tape this and mail it to us I would be most grateful.
  12. Does anybody know if this is the show taped in November 2002 that never aired or the one taped in 2003? We don't get Travel Channel here.
  13. Hi All, As probably the only mother to answer so far, I vote yes. Of course there are a zillion factors that tie into his final decision and everybody's different. At the end of my pregnancies I wanted to be alone, alone, alone, LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY!!!! But both of my kids came over a week late and neither one came easily or quickly. Dad could have left the state and still made it back in time for the deliveries. It's very difficult trying to plan your life/activities around something that will change your whole life immediately. Your first child is a huge deal. More than likely Mrs. Chef understands Chef's love of PKI and wouldn't mind a couple hours of quiet, especially if there are friends close by. But it is a very personal decision, and whichever one Chef makes I'm sure he will do the right thing. BEST WISHES CHEF!!!!!
  14. Planning (fingers crossed) to make it the weekend of the 17th - Trouble's birthday. Usually don't make it til mid-June, they kindly moved Spring Break back two weeks this year.
  15. Believe it or not, the ONLY ride I have ever been the slightest bit queasy on is Shake Rattle & Roll. Cast iron stomach, rode all the big ones even when pregnant, no problem. But the first few seconds of SR&R, I have to hold on to my lunch.
  16. I thought it was the theme song from Tales From The Crypt.
  17. Delirium is awesome. KC killed my old knees.
  18. International Street is good, close to closing time. During the day my favorite place has always been the tables by the Footlong stand in Rivertown. It's quiet, out of traffic, and surrounded by trees, you can watch the videos or the exit from WWC. Also provides shelter in the rain. And the food rules.
  19. Nice job Eric! (And thanks for giving the girls ideas. They don't embarrass me enough.)
  20. No question, hands down, Phantom Theater. Followed closely by Skylab.
  21. Couldn't have said it better myself, Dan, and I agree on every single point. 8. Rivertown has been around a lot longer than Action Zone. (And some things DO get better with age.)
  22. Sticking up for the yellow guy here. Yep, I'm a girl, and so are my kids, but we loved Spongebob 3D. A lot of the humor in Spongebob is pop culture references that go back to the 50's and 60's, so the older crowd love him and the little ones who just think he's silly. But comparing Spongebob to 007 is a bit like comparing a Ferrari and a Winnebago. One is built for speed and adventure, the other for families and wholesomeness. PKI has two theaters back there, don't they? Why not run them both?
  23. Gave it an "8" for good writing. A little Grinch-y, though? I mean, have you ever seen a camel that DID look happy? He also may have just been having a bad day, you know, a fight with Mrs. Camel or something - actually they are fine with the cold. I do find the living nativity to be cheesy, but the rest of the things you described, I would have loved. Since becoming a parent I have found ways to make a rock seem exciting and fun. There's only so much the Beach can do, you have to bring some of your own imagination, and hey, it beats watching "A Christmas Story" 718 times! And of course, PKI could do it better. For the record, I did go to the Holiday Lights festival at Brookfield Zoo, and their camels didn't look happy either. And most of the other animals were sound asleep - even the polar bears.
