So...did I read this right or wrong? I'm getting this is a gold-pass only thing all weekend, or just the fact that the first 2,000 GP people get the Speed Lane tickets? I'll be at the park Sunday for sure, and possibly Saturday...and would hate to miss the chance to ride IJ simply because I wasn't first in.
I am curious about this as well. I'm planning on going on Sunday, but I need to know how early it'll be necessary for me to be there in order to ride IJ:ST. I don't mind waiting in line if I have to.

AND PLEASE Six flags has 3 Major parks in Texas!!! !
Texas is also twice if not three times as large as Ohio.

I don't fault Paramount Parks at all for NOT delivering a Disney-like experience. While Disney & Viacom are very similar in size (both do around $30B a year in revenue), theme parks & resorts are a lot more important to the Disney business model than they are to Viacom's. In 2004, Disney's parks & resorts contributed 25% of total revenue, as opposed to Paramount Parks which contributed in the neighborhood of just 2-4% of Viacom's revenue. Two of the Disney parks (MK and DL) each had higher individual attendance in 2004 than ALL of the Paramount Parks combined. So, of course they can't compete on the same level.
Disney parks and Paramount Parks are very different animals... Personally, I think Paramount does a really nice job with what they do. My only problem is when they hype it into being a lot more than it really is...

Another part of the problem with Paramount Parks vs. Disney is that all the Paramount Parks are seasonal. This means a few things:
1. The have only half as much time each year to generate revenue
2. They have to be very conscious about how the winter weather is going to effect theming.
I just don't think a seasonal park will ever be able to come close to a Disney type experience because of these two problems. I think even Disney itself would have trouble equaling it's other theme parks if they owned a seasonal park.

Very odd

PKI has a perfect area to put in a Sci-Fi themed section of the park, and the inclusion of IJ:ST would throw that off.
Changing FOF to MTV Soundwave would throw that off.
I honestly don't see that happening
-
The problem with putting IJ:ST near FOF is the fact that it would not fit with the theming of the area. PKI has a perfect area to put in a Sci-Fi themed section of the park, and the inclusion of IJ:ST would throw that off.

We have actually looked into it and decided that it isn't feasible because of the fact that people move. This translate to when the images form together, you may only have half a person in the picture.
Could you do it during sometime when there aren't people there, like during the IJ:ST tour?

You ride both, neither are coasters, so they're both flats.
-
It'd be cool but it'd probably be hard to implement.

Cedar Point WILL, AT LEAST FOR AWHILE, DESTROY Kings Island IN ANY AND EVERY ASPECT!!!!!!!
I'm just going to say one more thing about this quote. Until CP gets even a children's area that's not total crap it will never beat PKI in each and every aspect.
Now I think that both places are great parks, but they both have their strengths and weaknesses. As someone already said CP is the place to go for coasters. PKI is the place to go for a more well rounded experience, and it's probably the closest we'll get to a Orlando style amusement park in this area. I don't think it needs to be one vs the other. They both compliment each other well and really pull from different demographics. In fact I'd say that PKI's main competitor is probably Six flags Kentucky Kingdom not CP.

So this is basically TTD with a bunny hill? Am I the only one not impressed with these one trick ponies. I mean sure they're fun to ride once or twice but I'd rather have a slower and shorter coaster with more ride elements. Maybe it's just me.

It has been brought to my attention that our warning system of doing things was intimidating members not to post, or not share there full opinion. Well, this is not what we had in mind when we put it in to effect. Therefore, the warning system has been removed. We will go back to our old method of doing things by editing the post and sending you a friendly PM about it. This is in no way saying that it is O.K. to go back to not caring about the forums TOS. We are still big on spelling, grammar, and capitalization.
Some my find this a bit "anal" but it makes everything a whole not easier to read and understand.
Thank you.
I never even understood how exactly it worked. Maybe if it was explained in a pinned post or something it might work a little bit better, but as it was I don't know if anyone knew what was going on, or it could've just been me.
From "TOS and Warning Sytem" pinned in the regular PKI discussion forum:
Hey everybody! We’ve been receiving countless PMs and e-mails asking about the warning system that is located under your aviator in the forums. This is a system set up by the administration in order to help the forums remain a healthy community, and also help individual users know where the stand in the eyes of the administration here. Although it may seem like you’re the only person that has one, everyone does. A user can only see the warnings for the account in which they are logged in. This system has been in place for about a month or so now, and we rarely have to employ it. Keep up the good work, everyone!Oh I guess I should look around a little before I talk out my @$$. Oh well just ignore as I hide in the corner.

Nick house party Huh wonder what that will be
You talking about the thing at the very end of the survey? I wondered that too.
-
I haven't been on it in a few years, but it was still there last time I checked. It's probably been 3 years since I've been on it though.

Just got a new survey about commercials for PKI. Here's a link http://www.parkfeedback.com/TVAD2005

2003-delirum/sdathc vs ttd...yeh, to close to call, accually no, have to give the whomping victory to ttd(i mean it is ONLY 120 mph, 420 ft, no big deal)
TTD also barely ran it's first year, and has already injured several people. I think I'll stick with our injury free and reliable yet very fun and thrilling two flat rides any day.
I rather risk it and ride Dragster.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that TTD is a bad ride. I just think that SDATHC and Delirium were better investments. Also I wonder what elitescr3 would think about the match up this year: 2005 maXair vs. IJ:ST. If we're going with the premise that coasters are better than flats (which I don't necessarily believe but I think elitescr3 does) then PKI wins out this year. So if you look at the original list that was put up here's how it would read:
2000: SOB vs MF
2001: RR:RR vs nothing
2002: TR:TR vs Wicked Twister
2003: Delirium/SDATHC vs TTD
2004: CD:BB vs nothing
2005: IJ:ST vs MaxAir
According to elitescr3 that would make PKI the winner of 3 out of the 6 years. Here's how I would rate it:
2000: SOB vs MF - TIE
2001: RR:RR vs nothing - PKI
2002: TR:TR vs Wicked Twister - CP
2003: Delirium/SDATHC vs TTD - Probably CP
2004: CD:BB vs nothing - PKI
2005: IJ:ST vs MaxAir - PKI
As far as I'm concerned they're both running neck in neck in terms of quality investments, although it does seem like PKI is more consistent in bringing in new rides. If you look at the list there were two years where CP didn't add anything to speak of (I'm not going to count any updates to the water park at CP because it is a separate admission price and therefore a separate park) while PKI has brought in something new and different every year.

why sould we add Italian Job: Stunt Track when we can add a huge ride
i want to hear from ur point of view y should we not or should put in Italian Job Stunt Track or a big coaster
There's a time and place for this IM lingo such as y for why and ur for your, and this isn't it. Try to make an attempt to use proper English and it'll go a long way around here.

I smell a post whore...
Really what does one smell like? I'd imagine a cross between smelly cheese and a bad greasy diner.

It's going to open April 19th at 12:10 a.m.
That's oddly specific and in the middle of the night.
-
They probably made a deal with Huss when they bought TR:TR. Could be wrong though.
-
Has there been some indication that IJ:ST won't open with the park? I haven't heard any new to that effect.

Its a great park quit hattin!!!!

I'd probably have to go with a tie between Scooby and TR:TR. Although AE has some decent theming to it as well.
