  1. It does, but it's also run by a chain that thought adding a carnival looper to a large heavily visited park was a good idea.
  2. Also would like to see the audio get turned up. The load/unload has some themed audio that would nice to hear. Especially preferred over the ride op on the mic. The music in the ride building would also be nice to hear beyond mostly just at the brake run (I know that's tougher because it is a pretty loud ride). But never understood why they keep the queue/station audio so low, same with Adventure Express. Neat little theming touches that could be remedied easily.
  3. That first drop is a thing of beauty.
  4. I remember really enjoying KC when I had my chances to ride it. I was younger and had more of a tolerance for forces/roughness, but I don't remember ever thinking of KC as rough. And agreed on the comparison between KC and B&M stand ups. I've only ridden Mantis, but found it pretty unenjoyable. I think the stand up model was one where less was more. KC had just enough fun elements, but didn't go overboard, which is what made it a fun experience for me.
  5. They ought to just bring it back for good at DCA. It fits much better with the theme of the park.
  6. Looking forward to seeing this. Somehow I missed out on Cirque during its run unfortunately. Not for a lack of interest. Last show I saw in the theater was Ed Alonzo, I'm going to have to make a point of getting in to see this this year.
  7. I don't disagree at all with what you're saying, but unfortunately we just have too many others in the park that would've cheapened keeping The Vortex station in my opinion. So if not for all the others I would've been more in favor of keeping it.
  8. Sad to the see the station go because it was iconic and a remnant of the days that station weren't just rectangle warehouses with a few theming elements on them. But at the end of the day, without anything big on tap for that location another 3 years or so at least, it's for the best. The park has enough empty former ride buildings as is, we didn't need another.
  9. Not sure this is a realistic expectation, but with them kind of tying the rides together theming-wise, I could see some sort of meteor shower effect working in the queue for FoF with it being indoors and all. Nothing crazy but maybe like a warning alarm, sound effects and maybe some smoke? Could be pretty cool, but my guess is the changes are going to be primarily just on the outside.
  10. I know it's probably been said before but that drop is insane and the angle may just make it one of the best paced gigas. Looking more forward to this thing with every update.
  11. Going to be sad to see this iconic ride go down. I still remember going through my first ever inversion all those years back.
  12. Maybe Coney could scoop up some of the Beach's slides? Guessing their age may make that not so attractive, but I would think buying and doing a little refurbishment would be an easy way to expand the slide count for Coney at a low cost?
  13. LOL! Clearly they're using it to market the attraction as a fun feature on their website. But your argument that there would be no hype over this without it or that you're entitled to it is ridiculous. But, not surprising.
  14. Are you even serious? So no ride in the past without a webcam has had hype? No rides at Universal or Disney have construction webcams. I don't think Hershey Park has a cam for their new coaster. It's called advertising. They're doing it and still posting pics on social media.
  15. Get over yourself. I've criticized the park plenty of times when deserved. This isn't a big deal. But I'm done. I'm not changing any minds. My mind is not changed. This has been a nice reminder of why I and many other members have stopped frequenting this site.
  16. Frustration is fine, but people are treating this like it's a huge deal. It's not. Cool. Nobody has talked about season pass sales. But the giant ride their building will take care of that. Nobody (reasonable) is buying their season pass based on a webcam.
  17. It's a very small minority. This isn't a product you purchased from the park. It's a free feature on their website.
  18. WHY do they need to issue an official statement about some webcams that only a small minority of people even check?!
  19. Not trusting them over an explanation for something important like a ride accident or malfunction... sure. But acting like there's some huge breach of trust because the webcams are down... come on. This isn't some government conspiracy people. The entitlement...
  20. Construction webcams aren't a right for enthusiasts, nor is it something that they HAVE to do or that some parks do at all. It's a nice thing the park doesn't have to do, yet they do it. Nobody is entitled to anything. I get the frustration, but to act like this is some outrageous thing and that you deserve some sort of explanation is just insane.
  21. Let me get this straight... Kings Island is building a $30 million giga coaster, they also moved one of their webcams to film construction. That webcam has been down a couple of days, so you're now mad enough that you want to get a pass still but in a way that will look less beneficial to Kings Island? You come off extremely entitled and whiny.
  22. You know, there was a time when we didn't have live video cams to watch roller coaster construction on. You'll all survive.
  23. Not to mention that he just looks dumb doing it.
  24. I think a Mack multi-launch would be great in that area. With Firehawk gone and now Vortex leaving, that's two large steel inverting coasters out of the park. I think that void needs to be filled, and would love something like Blue Fire at Europa Park or a Mack's equivalent to Maverick. I think that's a near perfect plot for something like that.
