  1. I always enjoy these topics so thanks for doing this again! The Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle picture brings back some great memories of visiting the park in the fall with my whole family which I haven't done in years, it also brings back memories of how I was upset about losing one of my favorite rides in the park. The King Cobra picture is very awesome, cool to see it from a different angle! Great picture of White Water Canyon as well, we are lucky to have such a great rapids ride at the park! Anyways, thanks again for sharing these pictures.
  2. These announcements have all been really great, looks to be an awesome year for Kings Dominion! Hope to see a year similar to this at Kings Island in 2015 or 2016, for what it's worth I think we will.
  3. As a fan of dark rides I think this is great news and look forward to seeing rides similar to what Canada's Wonderland is getting rolled out across the chain. Hopefully they won't stop with just this one, I'd love to see multiple dark rides including one of Phantom Theater's caliber in the park in the future. Love the direction Cedar Fair is heading in!
  4. ^ No, I don't think that's correct....
  5. I voted for the Banshee logo, but also really like The Bat logo... and the fact that The Bat is back!
  6. 7:35 the first official Banshee POV! But seriously great video, thanks for sharing!
  7. This is awesome news! The colors are going to look great, I think the orange will really pop. What a great way to pay homage to the park's history, tie the area together, and give some TLC to a great ride, while getting rid of the worst ride name in the park! I wonder if any other rides in Action Zone are due for a name change... or even the whole area itself?? Love this change, can't to ride The Bat next year!
  8. I rode in the very back row a couple weeks ago and didn't really have any problems... Sure there was some vibration at the bottom of a couple hills, but from reading on here I expected to have my teeth shaken out. I didn't notice a problem, but I also have only ridden one B & M hyper coaster, so maybe that's why it doesn't seem so bad to me? So if that is truly the problem then I hope Kings Island/Cedar Fair fix the issue and keep the ride running in tip top shape.
  9. This is a topic about the construction progress of Banshee, our new for 2014 roller coaster that no one has ridden because it is still being built and was just unveiled last month, why do people feel the need to start talking about what's next?
  10. Because when capacity is stressed more than customer service, it becomes a problem. Want an example? See Cedar Point. Frankly, the ride ops at CP are rude and I always feel like I'm in the way when I'm riding a ride. I honestly believe the ride ops at CP would much rather run empty cycles on their rides then interact with guests on their rides. ^This right here. I had a restraint on Mean Streak shoved down into my arm when I wasn't looking because the ride op checking restraints was basically sprinting and hitting the restraints as his "check". Capacity is important and I love Cedar Point, but I don't care for the way some of their ride ops act. Kings Island won't ever be Cedar Point, and I don't want it to be.
  11. For 2015 I really want to see something similar to what is happening at Kings Dominion next year. Improving the park's atmosphere gets me just as excited as a new coaster, hopefully we'll see something along those lines. A new dark ride would be awesome too!
  12. The only thing I can recall as being a "Fast Pass" type deal is the separate line they had for Gold Pass holders on IJST/BLSC when it first opened. I don't recall any other rides having a skip the line option, I also don't remember the Gold Pass line being utilized very often.
  13. Wow, wow, wow. This looks absolutely amazing. Love the color scheme, the station, the entrance plaza, the layout, the no MCBR. Beautiful addition, cannot wait until next year........ Also I seriously cannot get enough of the promo video, love the ride graveyard, Son of Beast falling, and then Banshee rising out of the ground. Great job to all involved!
  14. Really? Sure let's tie in this nice new coaster with a defunct coaster that was problematic from the start, severely injured people, and was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Lets not waste that potential. Defunct or not, it was still an extremely historic coaster. I think 'infamous' more accurately describes Son of Beast.
  15. I hope for this guy's sake that the blueprints are real and he just doesn't have that much time on his hands...
  16. The first thing I thought about when I saw the eyes was the old Son of Beast logo...
  17. If YoungStud was in charge of Disney World, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster would be Top Thrill Dragster right in the middle of Fantasyland. And it would probably break down a multiple times each day.
  18. That wouldn't be much of a "world record-breaking" statistic though would it? Not that I'd be unhappy with that considering what has been passing for "record-breaking" in recent announcements around the chain. Regardless cannot wait for August 8th!
  19. I'm about 6'1" 190 lbs. and though I had heard reviews about the restraints tightening I didn't give them much thought and thought they were comfortable at first... I enjoyed the first half of the ride quite a bit, but by the time I hit the midcourse brake run I was ready to get out of those restraints, my collarbone was in some pain, definitely not pleasant.
