  1. The pond was eliminated approximatly 10 years ago. There was running water near the "mill" display where everyone throws loose change right next to the front train queue in the station. There was also water coming out of the cave display after the circle to the first lift hill. Also changed was the exit, it currently runs through where the pond once was, and it was a rather large pond. The old exit came out under the last queue line in the station and emptied onto what is now a utility road blocked off to the public. If you look closely you can see a door with a moon symbol carved into it like you would see on an outhouse, that is where the old exit was. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe the wire supports for the large turn out of the station have always been there. If they haven't, does anyone know when they were installed?
  2. If Top Gun was the last suspended coaster built, and there are 10 of them left, what was/is original about it? Top Gun is a quality coaster. Just because it may not be as popular as it once was, does not mean to tear it out. It is a great beginner coaster for kids, it is a little rough, but not too bad, and a little fast, but not too fast. Every park needs a coaster like Top Gun.
  3. The most beautiful and cleanest park has to be Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It really does beat Disney, and the rides are top class.
  4. Even though Scooby Doo may be better, CP does have Disaster Transport.
  5. It would be a huge disappointment if PKI does not do anything for the ride that put the park on the map and made PKI what it is today. 25 years of being one of the best coasters in the world, PKI HAS to do something big.
  6. I am not trying to start anything, but, what are the forums here for? People give there opinions, and talk about likes and dislikes. Saying that we should not talk about the problems and go to guest relations, is just like saying if you really enjoy something, don't talk about it here, go to guest relations as well. Many of us do not have connections to the park, is it wrong for us to praise the park as well?
  7. Raging Wolf Bobs @ WoA is not even close to the same league as SoB. SoB has a problem and PKI has to deal with it. For example: how often is the line longer than The Beast or FoF? Being how unique the ride is, the wait should always be longer. There are only a small handful of guests that can tolerate SoB, that in itself, is more than enough reason to try and make it a ride that more people can go on.
  8. Like Chef, I miss the Bakery as well. I also really liked Flight Commander. It was a very unique ride that I have not seen anywhere else.
  9. The Beast was not built in separate parts. It did take 2 years to build and about 3 years to design.
  10. Dreaming of rides, at any park, that don't include extra $$ is like hoping that there will be free parking, it's never going to happen.
  11. Landlords must give 24 hours notice to enter a dwelling that they rent, and the tenants have to let them in. Being a landlord, I have run into this question many times.
  12. I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but I found a great site dedicated to The Bat. The pics are unbelievable. The Bat
  13. ?? The Rockin Rollercoaster is FoF clone.
  14. Discovery poll According to the Disovery poll at their website the #1 wood is Beast and #2 is Thunderbolt at Kennywood. SoB is listed but it has less than 1% of the votes. Coaster Choice 2003 Even at coasterbuzz.com (who won the Golden ticket for best park website) SoB only received 14.1% of the votes behind The Beast, Ghostrider. and Shivering Timbers. And in 2002 SoB was not ranked.
  15. Freeway stamps are free. You can get them near the ride entrances special times throughout the day, but they don't tell you when. Also there is of max of 2 per day.
  16. Cedar Point has the most rollercoasters, AND has the most rides than any other park with 69. Now that is diversity. Another common myth is that they build one every year. 2003- Top Thrill Dragster 2002- Wicked Twister 2000- Millenium Force 1999- Woodstock Express 1995- Mantis 1993- Raptor 6 coaster in 10 years, one is a Intimin Impulse, and Woodstock Express is a children's coaster. Now look at this: Rugrats Reptar- 2001 SoB- 2000 Face-Off- 1999 FoF- 1996 Top Gun- 1993 Does this mean that PKI is centered on coasters as well? It is only one less...
  17. I agree with the bigger trains for SoB. The ride would not be nearly as rough with different specs for the train size. The question I have is: Do the trains have to be designed this way because of the uniquness of SoB or did PKI go cheap and get smaller trains?
  18. Before PKI took over KI was, BY FAR, the cleanest park that I have ever been to. It is nowhere close to what it once was.
  19. I hate to see any ride taken out for any reason. PKI did take out KC, but because parts were scarce. Other than that, the park has more than enough room to expand w/o subtracting any rides.
  20. The only ride that you will wait 3 to 4 hours for will be TTD. Other than than that the longest wait will be 2 hours on a Sat. afternoon for MF. Cedar Point has received the Golden Ticket award 3 years in a row for wait times. There was nothing written about the "abismal waits" because there are none. The article was extremly well written, and very opened minded. Everything mentioned is the exact truth, though hard to swallow for most PKI entusiasts. This feeling is understanable since PKI is your hometown park. I go to both PKI and CP about 5 times each a year and I do agree with his views. Don't be insulted or upset with his article; it was his honest opinion.
  21. I wonder if The Vortex trains could get the same modifications that FoF received? I would certainly make for a "free feeling" ride.
  22. Try not to take this the wrong way, because my mom-in-law IS gay but, for our society/world to evolve we need to reproduce. Those in a same sex relationship cannot reproduce, and that is a plain fact. This entire thread has been people's opinions on the Red-Shirt day. Calling people names because they don't agree with you is the same thing as to why you called us names to begin with. We have a right, and they have a right. It doesn't mean I want to see it, or especially want my kids to see it.
  23. You are right by saying "If you don't like it, don't look at it", but many children will stare. I guess that my opinion is; that it is improper to have same sex affection in public. I do understand why PKI really can't do anything about it, but the so-called profanity on clothing is an opinion too.
  24. Ok, not to argue, but how can the park say what someone is not allowed to wear because in some people's eyes it maybe profane to them, but allow public affection of gays? And what is considered out of hand? If PKI is going to allow PA they should allow all t-shirts.
