  1. They would have to weld brackets onto the track and add brake components back there, interesting idea, but extremely expensive.
  2. My assumption is the reason they dont want the coasters stopping on the lift hills (unless they have to) is wear and tear on the gear boxes. That's why they run all day long, even if there isn't a coaster on the hill. That being said, it may be possible to completely stop it before the first lift hill, but unlikely.
  3. How sure are you that it never ran 4 trains? I recall early on, the ride would almost always come to a complete stop in the MCBR. However, the rest of this is correct, when they would run a third train, they would almost always have one waiting in the turnaround between the load and unload station. I'm sure the park has assessed the capacity difference in running 2 and 3 trains and it's probably not significant. AE had a big stacking problem on the second lift. I assume that's why they stopped running the third train.
  4. I figured the 6,xxx,xxx on FoF was incorrect, because there is no way it has only given that many rides.
  5. For every guy that doesn't pull up the seat, there are 10 women who squat over a seat. Hard to believe, but their aim isn't great.
  6. I can assure that the women's restrooms are far more gross than the men's.
  7. Not sure how it's currently done, when I was in the department the bathrooms were broken up as such: International Street: Inside and outside front gate bathrooms Action Zone: Festhaus, Banshee, Coney: Oktoberfest & Vortex Rivertown: Rivertown Larosas, Diamondback & Brewhouse Snoopy: Planet Snoopy, Picnic Grove & Family Care Center Boomerang Bay: Restrooms + Shower House There would be some shifting, from time to time, and doubling up on areas, but for the most part, there is one attendant per bathroom plus a Supervisor in the area who checks in on them as well. At the end of the night the bathrooms are cleaned and shutdown, the mats are pulled up and washed, replaced in the morning when they open.
  8. Maybe the park stopped the teasing campaign when you guys found all the blue prints.
  9. I would hate to see another coaster go in there. I think if they are going to build a new coaster, they should remove Backlot and use that area.
  10. I can assure you that you don't want to know. However, people smearing fecal matter on the stalls and walls of the bathrooms happens more often than it should.
  11. Depends on the cooler that you buy. Newer coolers will hold ice in the heat for 5-7 days. Personally, based on the quality of food service, the last two seasons when I went to the park, I only bought snack foods and not full meals. If I needed a meal I would leave and come back.
  12. There isn't an argument in EVERY thread...
  13. I'm glad it took you this long to figure that out. Chad's comment was deleted, so I wonder if that was him or a mod doing some spring cleaning.
  14. Because people leave the park, go to their cars, slam a pint of vodka and come back in. EDIT: Just for the sake of clarity, a mod edited my previous comment, which is a bit troubling, without any PM.
  15. Sure it does. They were probably a group who are using the exit as an entrance, which is totally fine. That particular group not only held up that train by boarding, but also by having a camera out afterwards. So they really slowed up the capacity that hour.
  16. Agreed. Probably on one of the backroads, probably the road that goes down behind the double helix of The Beast, if I'm guessing.
  17. Truth. I've seen cars with water up to their doors in very heavy downpours. The drainage can get backed up which allows the parking lot to flood a little in the lower spots shown.
  18. What if they installed a monorail that went back there to the loading station?!?!?!
  19. The Yellow Path isn't paved the whole way, or at least wasn't in 2011. I know for reasons that I shouldn't from working there.
  20. Not sure if most of the people on here remember this, but The Bat actually had an accident a few years ago during testing where it hit a bucket truck. As for tree trimming, the incident I referenced was due to tree trimming. I would find it very hard to believe that the ride is possible to hit the supports without a major catastrophic failure occuring before hand.
  21. Skunks, snakes, raccoons, etc are all pretty common in the park. The landscaping department is responsible for trapping them, but they aren't around later in the evening as they start pretty early. There's a big dumpster back in that area behind woodstock and the car ride, which attracts some critters. In terms of the parking lot trash, people in the park are very much the same way, tossing trash in the flower beds, leaving garbage on tables, etc. People treat the park like their own personal garbage can. The park does have a street sweeper run through the parking lot which gets up most of the loose trash. The Park Services crew pull the garbage cans throughout the day.
  22. Prepare to be disappointed then.
