  1. It was at Geauga Lake in 07. I saw it in pieces in their ride graveyard. Not sure why it went there, probably as some kind of doom that closed that park? Perhaps they knew then they were closing the park and knew they could keep it hidden there.
  2. Just now, on Diamondback, a parent was letting his kid try the test seat, and asked Taylor the ride attendent if anyone had ever fallen out, and he sounded serious! Guests say the darndest things!
  3. I have to disagree, Yes Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus! I worked with him at the Eastgate Mall for 12 years! Big jolly guy, and full white beard. But, that's another story. In all seriousness, HW I do feel gives you the best value for your buck, with free parking and drinks. I won't say suntan lotion, because I don't use the stuff. Still the free drinks alone is worth the value to me. The Koch family goes out of their way to make your day as wonderful as possible, unlike the CF parks that are run like The Krusty Krab. Last time I was at HW, I had one disappointing incident, I didnt get my Voyage night ride, because they closed it early in preparation of the July 4 fireworks, but I've had many of those so it wasn't a big deal to me. I've never had a bad experience at HW. I hope it will always be run by the Koch family and always deliver that quality they have for the last 65 years!
  4. I'm trying to see what part of that is wrong My daughter and I get a kick out of this thread and similar "rumors" like Vortex sinking and the like. So joking around, we repeat a lot of them. Here's two: In line for only our third ride ever on Millennium Force, she had forgotten that the riders exit before the train returns to the loading part of the station. Thinking that maybe they had dispatched an empty train, completely deadpan, she said "Wonder why the train's empty?" I responded with "they all fell out on the loop." The two girls next to us looked at me like I was the devil. In line for WindSeeker at Kings Island: Ride op: How many? Us: Two. Ride op: seats 1 and 2 please Me: Sweet! We're in the front row! Totally humorless guy behind us: You know the seats are in a circle and there's no front seat, right? (I half expected to see that last exchange posted on here from the other perspective.) I also have done that on WindSeeker. I got seat 1 here awhile back, and I got all excited and said I got the front seat! I also got seat 64 once, and did the same thing and got all excited and said I in the back seat! I think the front seat on WindSeeker is a lot better than the back! Probably because the restraint seems less tight on that seat than the back. Ha Ha. That part is true, but I love saying seat 1 is the front seat on WindSeeker!
  5. The only minor things I've noticed, are mostly isolated incidents. A few random seats on different trains seem a tad rougher than others. Probably needs new wheels. I also noticed the paint is coming off on various spots of the track. But that's about all I've noticed recently.
  6. Depends on how you count 10 years. It'll be the 10th season. The ice show at CP opened in 03. Their big marketing ploy was "Where else can ride the world's tallest coaster and see a skating beagle?"
  7. I noticed on Friday that 2 different times I was on WindSeeker, they played only 3 or 4 songs, instead of several that they had been playing. I have noticed this a couple of times now. I have not heard the songs from How To Train Your Dragon in about 2 weeks now. I don't know if I just happen to always catch it at these same songs,or if they have cut the track short. Anyone else know?
  8. I think it would be ok if the souvenir cups were unterchangeable amongst the Cedar Fair parks, even more so than bringing cups you bought 20 years ago, since you probably paid half of what the new ones cost. But, it doesn't matter to me, because I have not bought a souvenir cup since the 1980's and probably won't anytime soon. So, Cedarpointer, if I brought one of those old Yogi Bear cups, or cups with old KI coaster logos that don't exist anymore from the 80's, can I get a refill in those, too?
  9. Yep, show's over, unfortunately. It was a wonderful show. One of my top all time favorites. Also done is, Snoopy Rocks on Ice, and probably Sign Sealed and Delivered. All of theses shows ran for 2 years and that's all they run shows consecutively at Kings Island.
  10. I am totally devastated by this news. This coaster was in my top 10. I didn't know this was even suppose to happen. I had heard a couple of years ago, that John Robinson was talking about saving the coaster. His company did a lot of the marketing for the park years ago. Also, according to a recent History channel documentary on Lesourdsville Lake, it the coaster would remain and just simply fall down through time. Sad day for coaster fans.
  11. I was at the park on Aug 5th, but I was not in line for DB listening to an Ipod wearing a baseball hat backwards at 7:30. I don't listen to the Ipod in the park, or wear a baseball hat, forwards or backwards. I was in the Festhaus at 7:30 watching Way Too Much TV!

  12. They are really trying tho shove this thing in our face now! When I arrived at the toll gates, I noticed the girl who was checking me in was wearing a "Fast Lane" button! So, from the get go today, my blood was starting to boil! Then as I was walking from my car to the front gate, I saw an ecology associate wearing one, and now it's boiling more! I went into the front gate, and I of course expected to see the giant monstrosity sign that I knew was already there from a week or 2 ago. That one made me mad the first time, so I wasn't as mad seeing that one. Then I see a new sitting on the walkway up to the Eiffel Tower, and now I am huffing and puffing! Then I walkback to WindSeeker and notice they now have directional signs on that pointing to where the Fast Lane entrance is, and when I saw that, I BLEW MY STACK! This is WAY OVER THE TOP! I was riding The Racer tonight, and the ride associate was wearing a button, and I spoke loud enough to be heard and told who I was with that I don't like those buttons! The ride associate heard me and said, "Oh, you don't like my button?" I replied, "I don't like the message it says!" This shameless plugging of this thing is just getting more annoying everytime I go to the park! All it says to me is, "We want to rip you off, and/or make you feel bad that you can't afford to skip the lines!" When this first started, it was kind of kept under the rug, and it wasn't as noticeable that way. Now, its to the point that its making less interested in going to the park at all! I will continue to do whatever I have to do, to discourage its existance when I am at the park, and if the management of the park don't like that I do that, well they can sit and spin!
  13. I'm an adult and I don't like being told where to sit by a high school girl! That goes through me like a hot knife through butter. I wanted to end my night tonight on a Beast night ride after the fireworks, but after this experience, I will not be doing that. Thanks Beast crew (whom I can't blame as you were no doubt following orders) for ruining my evening at KI! Another complaint to add to my GR report! WTH is going on at KI this year?? Sheesh!
  14. I know a park rep is going to get upset and call the ACE police on me, but if he's that sensitive, be my guest and call them! They have been assigning seats this week on Beast for no apparent reason. I told the rides manager I was upset and he is suppose to fix it, but as of today that has not happened. There is absolutely NO reason to assign seats on coasters, and especially ones were they never did in the last 32 years! I don't know whats up with assigning seats on Beast, but this Raptor Bird is NOT amused!
  15. Except, no use of electronic devices on ANY ride at KI!
  16. Here you go. Up-charges for un-needed services. You hit the nail on the head. These experiences are NOT necessary to enjoy your day at Kings Island. Seeing the Dinosaur park is not needed. Fast Lane is not needed. The 3-D movie is not needed. Laser tag that is not needed. NONE of those activities are required to enjoy your day at the park. So why you complain, I don't know... After all, I think you've made it very, very, very clear that you don't partake in those "un-needed services," so you haven't spent a single cent more this season than you did last season, and have had the exact same experience to show for it. Why are you complaining? You have no interest in the laser tag, you have not paid extra for the laser tag, and thus you have not been affected whatsoever by the laser tag's presence. Quite the opposite, making things like the dinosaur park, new 3-D film, laser tag, parking, and Fast Lane free would exponentially increase the daily admission ticket. Better to have the OPTION to pay for it and not do so, than to pay for it and not partake. Here's the thing about what you said here. If I don't do Dinosaurs Alive, watch the movie, and play laser tag, I wont even miss those things, because I have no interest in them. That is correct. The Fast Lane interferes with my day and how I enjoy it. It will keep me from selecting my favorite seat on Beast or Diamondback, and make me have to wait a cycle on WindSeeker. Those things DO change the dynamic of how I would enjoy my day. So comparing Fast Pass to Laser Tag is comparing apples to green beans! They are not the same things at all. That is why I complain about this system. It will keep me from having a good day at Kings Island. It could even lead to Guest Relations to make a formal complaint. By the way, I saw on this post earlier, that it was said that no one had complained about the system to whatever date that was. I don't believe that at all. But, if that is the case, I will be the first to file a formal complaint on the system, just so they can no longer make a claim like that. I will know its a lie, and call them out on it!
  17. Good luck, Coaster kid! You'll make a great Haunt Actor!
  18. " 2. A fake dinosaur park ($5.00 per person)" In all fairness here, it would be tough to have a REAL dinosaur park, since that flood that happened a few years ago wiped them all off the face of the earth! Just saying! In all seriousness, though, I do agree with what you're saying. Too much nickel and diming just gives a bad taste in ones mouth, especially for un-needed services like this!
  19. I know that, but if Fast Lane guests can request seats and I can't, then that's really salting a wound... And the way he said it, I can only see two possibilities: either the front is reserved for Fast Lane (which is bad in my opinion) or the Fast Lane guests can make requests that the normal guests can't (which is worse in my opinion). If I am ever denied requesting the front row because of a Fast Lane person, I will be in Guest Relations before you can say Fast Lane! I will leave the line right then and there, no matter how long I waited and my next stop would be GR! This is a little off topic, but in a way not too, the assigning seats on DB is just ridiculous anyway. That's the best coaster at Kings Island, and probably a lot of people's favorite, and people have their favorite seat. They should be allowed to sit where they want. The ride ops who are controlling the thing and watching the Fast Lane, they should just let people sit where they want, and when some fast laner comes up, they will just be a Fast Lane monitor and maybe escort someone in, or just let them go in the station and join the rest of the crowd. They don't need to go all way to their seat without waiting some anyway! Just pass them through the que line and into the station. That's good enough, especially for a system that makes people mad already. Another idea I think that would be very helpful is, I think KI should do a survey on their Facebook page, and maybe on their website, and ask people what their opinion of the Fast Lane is. See if a lot of people feel it's unfair and would not like to have to wait longer in line, so those who have the money to pay extra can pass them up in line. And maybe, just by not buying one at all, if enough people don't buy them, that will be their survey of what people think! But, they should get verbal opinions, maybe sometimes when they have those GR people at the front gate asking questions, would be a good way to do it. One other comment I want to make is, some people have mentioned that its more for those who only come once a year or whatever. I've been to other parks that I only go to once a year, like Indiana Beach, and there's some I went to once, and that's the only time I EVER went, and I don't complain and think I should be able to get a fast pass. I am willing to wait in line at Indiana Beach like everyone else on my one time visit, this weekend! I went to Six Flags over Georgia, and it was a one time for the year visit, and I had not been there in 5 years, and I was ok with not having a fast pass. I still waited in all the lines, and I got to ride everything I wanted to ride. So, so far, no one has come up with anything I feel is a valid reason for this thing!
  20. Well, I can't afford to even get close enough to one to see how it's spelled, so I wouldn't know. I don't intend to buy a Fast Lane and make it that much easier for Matt to own one. And everyone who believes it's more revenue to get us better rides, I don't think so. If KI gets a 500ft B&M launch coaster with 10 inversions and 15 mega airtime hills, then come talk to me!
  21. If that were the case, maybe. I believe, however that Kings Island has enough money right now to build 100 coasters if they wanted to. That's if they took in no more money. I'm sticking to Fast Lane is a bad thing and bad idea.
  22. When I came into the park today, I was disgusted to see a rather large billboard-esque style sign announcing Fast Lane and directing you where to go to buy one. It's almost Kings Island is begging you to drop 50 more hard earned dollars so Mr Ouimet can afford his brand new 2012 Mazarrati! I'm sick of these gimmicks and I do intend to write letters and and go to GR until they stop ripping people off with type of crap. Everyone should have to wait in line like everyone else. No one should be shown special treatment because they happen to have a few extra 20 dollar bills burning holes in their wallets. Shame on you.
  23. Unfortunately, no refunds for Fast Lane. This is why the whole program is a waste of money. Like last Friday, when the park was deader than a door nail, why would you waste 50 bucks on something you dont need? You may as well have gone to Rivertown Junction and just ate mashed potatos or spent 10 bucks for a WindSeeker cup and filled it with water.
  24. I think it would be cool if they added "Up Up and Away" and "You Raise Me Up". Those Would both be very appropriate songs for it. Especially " You Raise Me Up", such a fulfilling song as the ride itself!
