  1. Just going by what the CEO Dick Kinsel said.
  2. Capital expenditures are not down there was a coaster planned for Great America that got pushed back if you add that back in we are right back to the 80-90 million dollar mark.
  3. If you have listen to the 3rd quarter conference call at the very end in the question and answer period Dick states that the 62 million is for rides and shows. They all so have a capital improvement budget to get that stuff done!
  4. Does any one have a photo of the old entrance. I can not recall in my old age where or what it looked like, However I do remember the old exit. The old exit dumped you out on the midway to the right of the coaster, which they have now blocked off. CoasterXtreme
  5. I would have to say the first ride I ever went upside down on, The Scream-in Demon. That ride always took my stomach!
  6. My memory of working at Kings Island was in the summer of 92. I lived in Grove City Ohio, about 1hr and 30mins from the park. I drove back and forth each day just to get the experience of working at an Amusement Park. I started the summer in Merchandise, I worked on International Street in the Emporium. I was there about a month and I then got to go to rides which is where I wanted to be all long. My First ride I got to work on was the Kings Mill Log Flume (always ended with a right wet shoe or left one depending which side I was on) I fell in that dang flume so many times I can't even count how many times. Then I got to go to White Water Canyon and be on that crew for a while. Which by far was one of the more fun rides to work back in the day. All day long you would just sit in the towers waiting for the rafts to float by and hit the button and soak all the riders. Other rides I filled in on was The Beast, Kenton Cove, The Racers, Adventure Express and The King Cobra. All the employee parties back in the picnic grove and the ride nights riding coasters until 2 am what more could a guy who loves coasters ask for. If you ever get a chance to work at a park I promise you it will be one of the best experience you could ever have or ever want to have!
  7. I joined when the sites merged and I believe I was one of the very first. Member #29 and Joined 11-25-03
  8. I love the shirt idea as long as it is a cool shirt and not just an ad for the site! I also would love to have a chat room where you could chat with other people live about KI.
  9. See anyone who is going to pride night tomorrow I am in the hat,Sean and Jarid is my partner! See you on the midway!
  10. go to Point PIxels.....they have the best pictures anywhere of Cedar Point and I know they have pictures of most of the ride signs......Point Pixels
  11. Pic of a copperheadOk I still think the name is going to be copperhead......If found this article on copperheads alot of statement fit. Copperhead Snake Introduction In eastern parts of the US the Copperhead Snake is the most commonly encountered venomous snakes. Appearance The snake, with by the way has the Latin name Agkistrodon contortrix, has dark colored bands of varying width across most of its body except for the tip of their tails, which may look almost greenish or yellowish.t can reach a size of 40 inches (1.05 meter) but the normal size of the Copperhead is in the range 24 to 36 inches (61-91 cm). A copperhead snake eat small rodents, cicadas, birds, lizards, other snakes, frogs and other amphibians, spiders and all sorts of insects. The snake serves an important role in the ecosystem by controlling the population density of its prey. Without the Copperhead Snake and other snakes as well the population size of several species will reach an inexpedient level. Habitat Copperheads can be found different kind of places, but they do prefer to live close to water. The abundance of the Copperhead snake in forested areas or suburban areas is relatively large. Copperheads has a habit of lying completely still when threatened, and so they are eradicated in large numbers on roads due to their habit of freezing when danger approaches. This habit of freezing originates from its behavior in its natural habit, where it’s an advantage to remain motionless and wait for the threat to pass by. Copperhead Snake Bite Usually the Copperhead don’t bite. However, if you grasp one or get very close to one it will and can bite you. A bite will be used as a last defense against you. The Copperhead was responsible for approximately 37 percent of venomous snake bites in the US in 2001 (Lavonas E.J. et al., 2004)1 One must assume that this percentage is quite constant over years. Most bites from the Copperhead is in the eastern parts of the US, so here the percentage is probably a bit higher. The venom is toxic and a bite from a Copperhead Snake is extremely painful, requires immediate medical treatment, but is very, very seldom fatal. Its one of the least venomous snakes of the venomous snakes in the USA It may however cause serious damage to your tissue and leave scars. Also there’s always a risk of a secondary infection caused by bacteria from the snakes mouthparts. For this reason there’s no point in trying to handle these snakes unless you have some formal training handlings snakes. So don’t try to kill a Copperhead Snake if you get a bite from one. With the snake eye now in the box it make sense. The only thing that is throwing me is the ride sally ride! Guess we will see in 13 days.
  12. Season Pass or Regular Tickets do not get you in to the event, you have to buy at ticket at an outlet or online for this event! See here for more info http://www.pridenight.com/
  13. Yeah but you need to look at the bigger picture......IF CP has 17 and Kings Island has 17 that make Ohio a very nice tourist spot and would bring more people to both parks with them being a short 4 hour car trip! It is really a win win!
  14. It really ain't CF's fault, SF was the one who overloaded the park. I second that it was mostly Six Flags problem......Cedar Fair tried to come to the rescue and save the park and when it couldn't be saved. Cedar Fair took the hit.
  15. First, No one said anything about heard it from a friend. Second, It was just an educated guess on my part seeing that KI really needs some sort of lodging other than Great Wolf. Third, there is a road that goes back there which the High School sits on and they could easily make a gate to enter the park by Firehawk!
  16. I am a huge Cedar Fair fan! I was happy when I heard the news that all the Paramount Parks were bought buy them. Cedar Fair has along history of Great Parks and I think it is going to continue. I see a great future for KI now, where before I didn't. Things to come new resort and camp grounds much like light house point at CP. I also see a TGI Fridays coming in soon. Say goodbye to Sponge Bob and gang and hello to the Peanuts Gang. I also see them making the kid section smaller and adding another kiddie section in the back of the park somewhere. Over all the place has never looked better. WTG Cedar Fair!!!!
  17. I am guessing that this will be KI new campgrounds or even Hotel....Kinsel has said in the past that he would like to make Kings Island more of a resort. Just my thought on this!
  18. I will be there never miss it.....A Great time for a Great Cause!
  19. I agree with you WooferBearATL I miss The Bat! No other Suspended Coaster has even come close to the thrill of The Bat.
  20. I still hate the name Flight Deck.......Come On Cedar Fair you can do better than that! All the other names are Ok The Crypt is a stupid name to.....
  21. I own Cedar Fair stock so I got to pump Cedar Fair....LOL
  22. Bottom line is SF has and always will suck.....Just showing my love for Cedar Fair!
  23. I see many items in the park getting a paint job.....Cedar Fair likes bright colors on rides so I can see blue going on it, Maybe a green so that the track blends in with the trees and the track disappears that would be cool.
  24. I would like a music filled ride.....lighting effect and music in the bowl.....Videos playing while you are waiting in line.
