Ok. I met one of the character guys and they told me that.

The way it was explained to me (and Im not sure if this is true or not) is that PKI has a direct line to the power plant. Something happened to that line, and power went down. Thats what was told to me, but Im not sure on how true it is.

What is that space there used for now? I never see anyone in there!
The space up there is used for group events, like if the park is entertaining important guests, the guests will eat up there. This was true for last year at least, the interviews for the job fairs were held up there. Still has a mini bar, all the seats, and its in real good condition.

PKI take great care in all of their rides, buildings, and equipment. Those buildings are in good shape, and I cannot think of the park tearing a building down rather than just retheme it.

Yeah, i came in at 2:20 or so, i ws really early for a close... and everyone was still talking about it, it was only for 30 sec or so right?
Actually, SOB was I believe the last ride to get power back, 4 hours after the origonal power outage.

Nice pics Shagster! Every time I see more and more of SD, the more I am blown away by what it is gonna look like. I really wasnt expecting much from this, but PKI is blowing my expectations away.
I heard a rumor that PKI was using the old Enchanted Theatre as part of SD. If this is true, how exactly will they do that?

I timed it, the entire ride cycle, from the moment that you are lifted up to the moment the house lights are turned on, is 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

What they need to do is clean out that pond.
I can see Subway in some of the old Ice Cream stands (E.G. the stand by the Bungy Jump attraction) but Chinese I dont see happening.
PKI used to have a 4 star restaraunt, but it was so good that patrons had to leave the park, get dressed up, and then go and eat there. Right now, its used for job fairs and meetings.

Only leaving at 2AM? No, the last day of FearFest I was over at TR and we stopped cycling at 2:30AM. I got home about 4. Shoulnt have left the park cause I was back up there at 9:15 for an early.

A "Valley" is when a coaster doesnt make it around the track due to various things.
Anyone else working the day PKI lost power? SOB opened about 30 minutes late, and I was walking the guests down the line, and when I came back, my sup told me to close the line again, quickly. I spent the next 4 hours fending off angry guests because the entire park was shut down. Oh and not to mention that everyone came walking down towards Gun/SOB. I was one of the biggest guys on our crew, and even I was getting worried about getting hit!

I wouldnt really call that a room, just a one-person shack hanging off the side of a building. Theres barely enough room for a normal rolling chair in there. Cramped corners.

Dont forget sandals. I believe you are allowed putting shoes without a back to it in the pouch. Dont remember, its been awhile.

You guys are bringing back the memories of me and Pat at Top Gun. The air guitar band, slow dancing with the height stick, and monkey bar checks. Ah good times

I know one of my favorite bands played there: Jars of Clay. They really arent a small time band anymore. They were awhile ago, but now JOC is getting bigger.
I dont think that PKI wants to bring in the big bands. The park draws enough money, so why waste more by bringing in something that is not a guaranteed money maker? It just isnt good business practices.

There was one time I was working Top Gun and was sent to Reptar while it was raining really bad. Well, after taking a nice walk in the train, and realizing that I wasnt able to train until after the rain, I saw this little girl. I went over and started playing I spy and games like that. After the rain stopped, a hour later,the family thanked us and gave us all compliments at the front desk. She even remembered to name us by name so I even got good marks for that day.

Ive done that before as well. During Bring a Friend Free, full queue (about 3 hour wait) and these people cut to ride the first and second rows of the train. They refused to get out of line, so we put them in the car, put the restraints down, told the line that we were having a technical difficulty, and called security. Even then they refused to move. Had to call the real cops to handcuff em. It was great.
Any other employees always notice that during the christian music concert, security has absolutly NOTHING to do?

Dude, I got "Hired" at a local Skyline about a month ago cause I was bored. The problem was that they were waiting for an employee to quit who wanted to. And I am starting training Friday!!!!
I have been so bored that I couldnt stand it anymore. RCDB, PKI Unlimited, and coasterbuzz will only fill the void for so long. But I am definitely filling out my paper work saturday. At least let me see a coaster!

SOB, with the snow on the rails, by myself. I did that in rain, and it was the best ride I ever did!

I learned that on the first open day! If you take it too seriously, then the job is no fun. You have to roll with the punches and take what is given to ya.

I had a dream about riding SOB and my lapbar came up. I went through the loop, and had to grab the back of the seat to hold on. I broke both my ankes because my feet were dragging on the track. The sad part is that when I woke up, I had sore legs.

The monkeys didnt attack anyone. In the first two years the ride was open, the monkeys kept escaping into the park and causing mischief.

Working over at SOB, we have to get some of the worst people.
My personal favorite was when one of the smaller girls on our crew measured this kid and he was too short. Well, the father just starts going off on her and tells her that she is doing her job wrong. I decide to trade spots with the girl and take care of the guest, cause she was almost in tears. I walk out and the guy suddenly doesnt have a problem at all about his kid being too short.
That and the usual "Why is the line so long?" on busy days. I got so sick of hearing it, I was about to say "Havent you looked around recently?"

Alright. I was in the Carasel and Lounge and didnt get a good look at it. I just assumed it was a mini bar.
