The park will either contact you with the rehire packet. If they don't call, up to HR at the park and find out what's going on.

According to the first article, it looks like the full timers are going to be dispersed throughout the other parks, but I will say those who don't want to move are going to have hard times to find new jobs in that market as well. How often does a company need a maintenance worker who specifies in Steel Coaster Maintenance? The wood coaster maintenance guys will have it a little easier to find a job, but I don't know what the demand for carpenters is.

I'm sad about the park closing, but I am saddened even more by the loss of jobs in that market. With the economy in shambles anyway, jobs are hard to come by, and now that a huge feature for jobs for teens and college students, where will those get the summer jobs now?

I like how they also announced who the supervisor was.

I still think that someone needs to get some long sticks, someone else get some hot dogs, and someone else bring marshmellows, and we will "celebrate" SOB.

I am planning on being there, depending on my work schedule. I wasn't able to attend Round 1, but Round 2 I wouldn't miss for anything.

Who knows how Apollo will make the management, but as long as the park look good, and the rides work, what do we have to complain about?

You know, I always thought SOB was rough, but not overly so. But of course, when it comes to personal feelings about a ride, no one can be right, no one can be wrong, and someone always has a different opinion.

As for the Mayan soccer thing, it was considered a honor to be sacrificed to the gods. Mayan priestesses, those who were raised to specifically be sacrificed later in life, were held in the top regard. Their lives were made as close to perfect as possible, because they wanted "perfect sacrifices."

After being one of the "lucky" ones to help on an evac of SOB, I can tell you its easier than you think...
Although the climbing that lift over and over and over kinda sucked.

Honestly, I think 5k was what maintenance spent on the 4 foggers in The Crypt.

My favorite "Kicked out of the park" story is this:
Was working at SOB, got reports of two girls line jumping for the front seat. Well, we waited till they were climbing into the car, and told them that they have to get out of the train and leave the ride area for line jumping. They refused to get out, we refused to dispatch the train till they left. Security was called, in which the guilty party still refused to move, then Mason police showed up, they STILL refused to move, until one of the Mason cops grabbed an arm and HAULED them out of the train, put some pretty, shiny bracelets on their wrists, and escorted them through the park.

I am going to start this by saying that I have nothing against gays, lesbians, or those who like to wear clothing of the opposite sex HOWEVER.....
The guy on Pride night in 04 wearing a sundress and a full beard (and this thing was Bushy as all get out....) was a very startling thing to a young ride op.

I have kicked people out for line jumping, being unruly, basically things that are against KI policy.
But that was back in 03/04 when I was a young ride op...

That's basically what they are trying to do. Why raise taxes on those who can vote you out of office when you have an influx every year of people who can't?

The Cliff is the single most intense feature on a coaster I have ever experienced, and love it. That ride would be completely different without it.

I am in that awkward size of between a XL and 2X. XL sometimes is too short, and sometimes 2X is too long.

Mason City Counsel better read this part very, VERY closely....

I will be there on Feb 8th. I had to go to a class (missed the first day of class, and if I would have missed another I would have gotten an F for the year....)
I am of the opinion that on Feb 8th, everyone who doesn't have anything else going on needs to be there. Imagine, if you will, instead of a "handful" (as the media put it) of protesters outside, they state hundreds with signs.

Well, considering that the name is "Flight Deck," and most objects on a flight deck are, in fact, silver (with black lettering,) I would keep it gray.
