I wonder if Cedar Fair built a roller coaster that was 59 feet tall, would they market it as the TALLEST, FASTEST, roller coaster under 60 feet. This is just as annoying as the overhyping of new rides Paramount started a few years back.

If someone relatively close to you in line is practicing PDA, stare at them. It will get them to stop. If they ask you what you're doing say, "Oh, I thought you were putting on a show for us." Works like a charm every time. Try it! When I worked Fearfest I would leave the park around 1 in the morning, go the the Waffle House, IHOP, or Steak and Shake after wards, get home at 3 in the morning take a shower, then wake up at 7:00 to get to work at 8:00 the next day. Yeah, I was living off of Rockstar energy drinks. Good times.

I've been critical of Paramount, I've been critical of CBS, why can't I be critical of CF? Do I wish CF would go bankrupt? No. I want the best for KI. When a company that owns the park goes bankrupt, it's hard to say that's a good thing for the park. The thought of CF going bankrupt was already there in my head when I worked at the park. Now I've come to accept that CF will eventually reach bankruptcy. The thought has turned from an "IF" to a "WHEN". I'm a laid back kind of guy. Sometimes it's okay to kick back and laugh during serious times.

^I started a KI fansite. You might have heard of it. KI will always be in my heart. I can't deny it.

Because they payed through the nose for the Paramount Parks, parks which they are now pouring millions upon millions into. ^Fixed. They bought PP for 1.24 billion when they were already half a billion in debt. CF has more than turned into the new SF. They keep making very poor business decisions, and there is no sign of it stopping anytime soon.

Absolutely laughable what you just posted... Seriously record breaking is not that big of an attraction to the general public, unlike exciting rides, which I305 will be, just like Diamondback has been for KI. Some of the best coasters around do not break records. Some that do are maientence nightmares, Kingda KA, SoB to name a few. CF is more likely to go bankrupt because of the downturn in the economy and the large capital expenditures they continue to make. ^This is what's laughable. CF loves record breaking. I'm sorry to upset you fanboys but I'm only being reasonable. CF's top priority wasn't creating a great ride, their top priority was making sure the coaster goes 1mph less than the great MF! Cedar Fair was already losing tons of money even before the economic downfall took effect. I'll still laugh when they file for chapter 11!

Has anyone thought that possibly KI already knows they are never going to reopen SOB and plan to tear it down in the offseason, but they are waiting until after the end of the season to notify the plublic of their plans in an attempt to limit the amount of uproar it might bring from guests/enthusiasts. I remember when it was announced while the park was still open that the Flying Eagles would be taken out at the end of the season. People signed petitions, there were rumors of ACE members handcuffing themselves to the ride , and we even threw together a "Save the Flyers" campaign. I have no knowledge what the park plans to do with SOB...this is just something that popped into my head as a possibility.

I haven't done my research, but I wouldn't doubt if KIC was still the largest amusement park fan site. A site like this takes a lot of time and attention for something that doesn't pay the bills at home. Thanks for the effort guys! You were behind Guide to the Island?! I remember that!

In 2000, 14 roller coasters held the record for the most in one park. Kings Island actually claimed to share the record when SOB opened in 2000. KI claimed The Racer as a separate coaster as well as Recar, bringing the total number of coasters to 14.

IF, and I'm saying IF this is the last we see of SOB, nine years is a whole lot longer than many people expected it to last! Thanks for the good memories SOB!!

What if SOB mated with Diamondback? Wouldn't that create Son of DiamondBeast? SOB and Diamondback are both hypers, so would Son of DiamondBeast be a strata?? Maybe SOB is like that guy who got pregnant and had a kid. What if SOB died while giving childberth? Oh uh, I see a marketing scheme!!

With the quick time it took Firehawk to reopen and the coming of the end of summer, I would say it's pretty safe to think SOB has about a .001002% chance of opening before the season ends.

I'm surprised at how much capital they are spending. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Cedar Fair goes into bankruptcy in the near future.

^Official word on WHY it is still closed after the investigation has wrapped up. If the ODA has cleared it as operating with no irregularities, WHY is it still closed. We all know the park is not saying WHEN, but have they said WHY?

Well what is the reason there are giving for it's closure? Does the park need a reason? No. They will release information when it's needed. I have a reason for you. It is closed right now because an investigation into an incident that allegedly occured on the ride is currently being completed. When this investigation is completed, we will release our findings, and then make a decision as to what will happen to the ride. I could care less what reason you want to give me. You don't know anything, but the park does. That's why I'm interested in what the park has to say. So does anyone know the official word the park is saying on this? Doesn't Don come on here? ... Don can we get any word from you?
