  1. So what is the park saying about this situation now? SOB is still closed for regular maintenance?
  2. Can we get that letter signed by a public notary also? I didn't know the pictures had already been posted on another thread, I made my thread as a joke thread to add some comic relief to the SOB tension that was building up on here. It's nice to be informed that the pictures were a repost.
  3. So is there no strictly official KIC day this year?
  4. You obviously don't know me! I talk to all of the coasters like they're my friends...mostly because they are. I have on many occasions said, "See ya later, Vortex." I should say your point is irrelevant because I can come up with a case against it, but I don't wish to be rude. You would be the exception and not the rule. Your point is still irrelevant, and I'm not being rude.
  5. I already PM'ed a mod before I started this topic. I wouldn't have needed to PM a mod, nor start a topic if they had sent me a PM when they deleted the thread. I'm just looking for someone to answer my question. ^
  6. Well now more space is wasted because this thread would not be necessary had the original thread been locked/closed and a reason given to me or the board as to why the thread was not appropriate.
  7. Regardless of proper english, the park does not have any such rides as The Diamondback, The Invertigo, The Firehawk, etc etc. Kat is entitled to her opinion, and you are entitled to yours. One person's opinion may seem slightly misguided to the other person, but that still does not necessitate name-calling. I would very much appreciate it if you would edit your post. At Kings Island, you can ride the Diamondback, the Invertigo, the Firehawk. The Diamondback is a ride at Kings Island, so is the Invertigo, the Firehawk is another rollercoaster at Kings Island. I'm not calling the ride "The Diamondback", I'm simply saying the "Diamondback" is a roller coaster at Kings Island. So when a ride operator says "Enjoy your ride on the Diamondback", they are saying nothing wrong. Of course you wouldn't say "Enjoy your day the teenageninja", but you also wouldn't say "Enjoy your day Vortex." Your point is irrelevant. I can properly say "I'm going to take a ride on the teenageninja."
  8. When I was an Admin it didn't. Anyway with the size of this forum, I would bet the thread makes up .000001% of the database. Whoops. Doube post. You can delete this post.
  9. If a mod simply hits the delete button, and then proceeds to hit Yes to confirm, they are making more work for themselves and the other mods. If they don't provide information as to why the thread was not allowed, another similar thread or two or three may pop up. They will have to then delete these also leaving more questions unanswered. That extra work could have been avoided had they provided a reason why the first thread was closed. When I was an Admin it didn't. Anyway with the size of this forum, I would bet the thread makes up .000001% of the database.
  10. Yep, I didn't have a clue about that thread. Thanks for the link. HTCO, it doesn't take up space on the database.
  11. Shouldn't it have simply been closed/locked?
  12. ^Already did. I think it is only logical that if a thread is removed, we are informed as to the reason for removal so that it won't happen again.
  13. Reason for Delay in SOB Investigation - The topic was started today in the Kings Island section. Where did it go?
  14. When I worked Fearfest I always felt that the rudest people were the parents who brought their frightened kids through the line and would yell at you "Don't scare my kid!" Well I'm sorry sir or ma'am but if you don't want me to scare your kids don't bring them through the line in the first place! As for the tough guys, if I couldn't get a scare a second try I would come up with something funny or make fun of them in some way to their group to let them know they don't have to be so serious and they could enjoy themselves. It worked probably over half the time, but sometimes you just get punks and there is nothing you can do but move on to the next group.
  15. Ride ops aren't doing anything wrong when they say, for example, "Enjoy your ride on the Firehawk". It is proper grammar because "Firehawk" is a noun. The same goes for when you're at a restaurant, perhaps Applebees, and you order "the New York Strip," even though on the menu it is listed as New York Strip.
  16. When I worked there, Kings Island had a bike rack near the employee parking lot. I believe it was in the VIP parking section. Take a stroll on over there next time you're at the park and you may find it.
  17. It was someone's farm. The house is still there, yet it is hidden by the walls of the Fort Washington theming on the train. There is a small graveyard in the parking lot near GWL. EDIT: This thread has continually gone on for six years now. Sweet!
  18. Seat belts are not being added to these rides because of improved safety, but for improved PERCEPTION of safety. We are the ones to blame.
  19. The only thing Premier had to do with SOB was the design of the trains. ...And you forgot Vekoma with Face/Off, Runaway Reptar. I forget who built the Ghoster Coaster in '98. Sorry to disprove your theory.
  20. If it didn't "give" it would snap thus casuing catostrophic failure! If you go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and stand still, you can feel the whole tower swaying back and forth. It's all physics!
  21. Just sit somewhere in the last car of the train. You'll have a blast no matter what!
  22. ^ I like this guy. Power to the People!
  23. ^This is the distance between the front gate and the General Manager's office at the park. If you ask me, it's not far at all as you can hear the front gate music well past that point... I need to give credit for using Ronny Salerno's photo.
