  1. Today is a perfect day to go to the park crowd wise due to the rain. All the rain kept the crowds away from the park and if you like to ride the coasters, you can ride to your heart's content!

  2. I remember when the park first open in 1972, LaRosa's on I-Street would sale any left over whole pizzas to the employees for only $1 each. They even did this in the early 90's when I worked there. The employees would line up at the end of the night to purchase the pizzas for just $1 each.

  3. All of this talk of up to 500 foot hills, multiple inversions and corkscrews seems to make this ride a very extreme ride with lots and lots of G forces. Won't this tend to scare off the average rider that just wants to experience a fun ride? They might all take one look at that very extreme ride and say to themselves, "No way am I riding that!" Don't you think Cedar Fair would want a ride that will appeal to lots of park goers and not just a few riders that seek out these extreme thrill rides? When I see a family look at a ride like Invertigo, they cringe at the thought of being whipped around like on the end of a bull whip. How will they feel when they see a 500 foot steel coaster that goes up to 70 mph and goes through lots of inversions and corkscrews? Will they say, "No way I am getting on that ride?" Or would they want a ride that is less extreme with a lift hill(s) around 250 to 300 feet? They just want a ride that is fun to ride without stressing them with all of the extreme G forces and lots of inversions.

  4. Just like it has been mentioned on the other posts, during thunderstorms and lightning, all of the outside rides shut down for safety until they pass. If there is lightning within a certain amount of miles, the rides shut down. There is plenty to do during this time, browse in the shops, have a bite to eat and take in a show or two. About the only time that I have known the park to close due to severe weather was a few years back when severe winds blew through the area and knocked down lots of trees and power in the area. I remember the tall trees being almost blown over and one of the umbrellas out side being bent in a 45 degree angle. There were lots of areas that had power out for long periods of time. Also, roofers made out like bandits repairing and replacing roofs from that wind storm.

  5. All members of the military, both active and retired, members of the national guard, all veterans w/ honorable or medical discharge, members of the ROTC will be admitted free. They just need to show a valid ID or their DD-214 discharge form. My entire family has served, my father served in the Army in England during WWII, my sister served in the Army, where she met her husband as he was coming home from Vietnam. I served in the Army in 1974. This is a great way to honor all who have served our great country that we live in. But don't forget all the heroes that have given their all for our freedom. A big SALUTE to them all!

  6. The only thing that I gather from the "snickers" comment is that the announcement will come some time down the road rather than soon so you matters well grab something to eat, so eat a snickers candy bar to ease your hunger pains.

  7. When I hear about trolls on web sites, I think of news sites being infested by them. There you have various groups that employ people that create numerous user accounts for the sole purpose to debunk the opinions of users of a political belief they don't agree with. They fill those forums with their non-sensical opinions and as a result, the other users flag them and report them to the sites administrators. Now why would trolls infest KICentral and post crazy opinions like they have heard from certain people regarding the ride being built? All it does is cause the users to become agitated and call them out. But could these same trolls that people are chatting about be part of a group that wants to lead the discussion in another direction, even if it might be a false direction or a diversion? I know when I hear one of these "trolls" claim that a certain employee has said this about the ride, I dismiss it as unless they are a high level employee, they know squat regarding the ride and the people who do know are not talking until the time comes for them to inform us all.

  8. The thing to remember about Fathers Day, each pass holder could bring up to 4 people at $9.99 each. Say a family had 4 members with passes, they could bring in a total of 16 additional friends. That is why that day was packed. As for the Fourth of July, expect to have large crowds.

  9. How long after this future ride is announced and constructed and the first rides are given before a new thread is created asking, "when are we getting a new ride?" How soon will a decoding thread like this is created asking about new construction that is being observed? Didn't we ask the same thing before Diamondback was constructed? I am waiting for whatever ride is announced to be so different from what is being discussed and speculated here.

  10. I was at the Dayton Air Show several years ago when the T-Birds performed. They showcased their military flying skills in their high performance fighter jets. They performed the various flying maneuvers that the military pilots use when flying in combat. The stunt flyers are performing the same stunts that the "barn burners" performed in the early days of aviation. The likes of Jimmy Dolittle and others went from airport to airport showcasing their skills and promoting aviation in its infancy to what it is today. From what I heard, the plane lost lift in its wing due to a dropping airspeed but the final answer won't come until the NTSB conducts their investigation.

  11. Have you ever bought an item on a credit or debit card and later on, later on returned the item and a credit is issued to the card? Depending on the bank or processor, it could take up to 7 days (as they tell me when I have funds credited back to my card, but are credited back much sooner) to see the funds added back to the account. They usually do the credits as a batch operation around mid-night at the end of the days business rather than in real time like when the charges are made. I would continue to bug your bank that issued the card and the park and their card processor as to the status the credit being issued back to your card.

  12. Also don't eat a 5 way Skyline chili and then decide to ride the roller coaster. It will churn your stomach's contents and next thing that you know, you had a "protein spill." As a former litter getter, I used to clean up the results of said meal by The Racer. Thank God for Voban!

  13. So if a woman attempts to ride and is obviously pregnant in her mid or late term of her pregnancy, can the ride operator say she can't ride the roller coaster due to her health concerns? If a person attempts to ride and has either an artificial leg and or arm, if they are not able to meet the manufacturer's guild lines due to safety issues, they can be precluded from riding. Now what is to keep a lady that is far along in her pregnancy from riding an extreme roller coaster and is injured because of it from filing a law suit? I know anyone can bring a law suit for any reason, but winning it is another issue. I am not a lawyer nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

  14. Something like this happens at other places besides Kings Island. The problem is with the credit/debit card processor and it sounds like a software error. While the charge is credited against the account holder's card, the refund usually takes up to 7 days to credit back, depending on the card holder's bank. If they were charged a fee by their card holder or bank, talk to them and tell them what happen. They will not charge you the fee or will credit it back to you for the most part. If all else fails, I would think KI or their processor will take care of it if your bank won't assist you. I had these things happen in the past and it was credited back to my card on the next day's business. But it was not Kings Island's fault for this, but the processor.
