  1. I can attest that KIfan73 was at the park today. I had the pleasure of speaking with him as he was sitting by the picnic tables by the season pass building.
  2. Nice talking with you today out by the picnic tables by the season pass building. You had a very good day weather wise and most of all, crowd wise at the park today.
  3. What if you are a stock holder, isn't the attendance figures included along with everything else that relates to the company in their report to the stockholders?
  4. I grew up in Kings Mills and I used to hike though out that area that is now Kings Island. Kings Island was my very first job when I was going to high school back in 1972. I remember those years very well, and all that opening sequences from that year really brings back the memories. I was hired on as a "litter getter" back then and I thought that it was the best job in the entire park. Where else did you have the entire park as your work area. We were not confined to one small area and we could roam and interact with all the guests. As that song goes, "Those were the days my friend, we thought they would never end..." and the fun continues to this very day.
  5. In an alternate timeline, Paramount Kings Island made history when their newest roller coaster, the Son of Beast was constructed. This roller coaster proved to be the to be the smoothest ride that had the most thrills of any wooden roller coaster. The park had another grand roller coaster to go along with its father, The Beast. When the park was purchased by Cedar Fair, the owner of Cedar Point, they were quoted as saying it was indeed one of the best wooden roller coasters they had ever saw and had the pleasure of riding. If only this was true, but in an alternate timeline, it could had been.
  6. What a great picture! Sorry that I could not make it but I was in the "dog house" as usual at work!
  7. If they are going to give away basketballs as prizes should have the balls under inflated so they won't bounce.
  8. The "falling out feeling" was the same when I had a scan on my spinal cord in my neck. I was strapped to the table, and then it was tilted over, turning me upside down on my head. I felt like I was going to fall off the table.
  9. I wonder if Buddy LaRosa ate the pizza at the park and then ate the same pizza at one of his restaurants, if he would ensure that both slices of pizza were the same at both locations? You would think if it was to carry his name, it would be made the same way with the same number of toppings at both locations. Naturally the only difference should only be the price of the product.
  10. Even thought it is not from the same era that the Coney Island replica is from, but it would be nice if they could include a model of the Island Queen that used to bring families to Coney. My parents used to take the Island Queen from the public landing to Coney and spend the day there. They rode the rides, swam in Sunlite Pool and danced at Moonlight Gardens. They were sadden with the Queen burned while being worked on in Pittsburg.
  11. I wonder if any other pizza chains have ever tried to bid to be the official pizza inside the park? Would anyone like to see Papa John's, Donato's, Pizza Hut or any other well known national or local chain submit a bid to be the official pizza inside the park?
  12. If I was in quality control at LaRosa's, I would see to it that the pizza served at the park is the same pizza served at the restaurants. It will have the same number of toppings, sauce, cheese would be on top of the toppings. If you were to order a pepperoni pizza at the restaurant, it would or should be the same at the park.
  13. Even though they use the same sauce at the park and at the restaurants, I think the pizza is better at the restaurants. They use fresh dough and it is not frozen, use more pepperoni and the there is more cheese and the cheese is on top of the toppings. Just count the number of pepperoni slices on the pizza at both the park and at the restaurants and see the difference. But this is only my opinion,
  14. The twin sisters that formed their own coffee shop had never heard of the rock band the name of Twisted Sister. They just called their coffee shop, Twisted Sisters because they were twin sisters with a twisted kind of attitude. I sure am not going to confuse them with the rock band.
  15. Kings Island is home to lots of geese and they are either hatching or have chicks that have already hatched. A couple years ago, a duck chose her nest beneath a picnic table in one of the back areas and a police tape was placed around it to give her some privacy until her eggs hatched.
  16. If that squirrel had bitten you, you would had to undergo those painful rabies shots. When I worked at KI in 1993, I had to take several bags of trash to the dumpster behind Rivertown Pizza at 1AM and I encountered a clan of raccoons and I was lucky that I was not bitten.
  17. Maybe they will all get together and we will have CAT fight.
  18. There is only one roller coaster that I knew who designed it and made it, that is The Beast, which was designed by Charlie Dinn and was built in-house. Charlie used to be my boss when I was working for him in the maintenance department at Kings Island back in 1974. As for who made the various roller coaster, I don't care as long as it is fun and exiting to ride. I can't even tell you the details of the ride nor tell you about the braking systems that it has. I am just an average rider that might ride a coaster two or three times in a day.
  19. I count myself among the average roller coaster fan that can't tell one make of track from the other track. When it comes to how the ride is constructed, the specs of the ride or the science behind the ride and the details of the ride, it does not matter to us. We just want a ride that is fun and exciting to ride and makes us want to ride it again. All that I can tell you for sure is if it is a steel track or a coaster made from wood. Speaking of wood, I would love to see a wood coaster instead of a steel coaster. I love the feel of a wooden coaster over the steel.
  20. Back in the early 30's when both the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building were being constructed, the final height of both buildings were kept secret until the last moment. The builders of the Empire State Building added on the spire at the top to give it the title of the highest building in the world and beat the Chrysler to that distinction. The same might be with parks. They want the bragging rights over what might be the longest, highest, or what ever record might be for the year. Hence, they delay the announcement as late as possible to create even more hype and interest.
  21. To the average fan, a section of track is a track and no way to tell who manufactured it.
  22. I-71 goes all the way to Louisville and it also connects with I-75, which goes all the way south down to Florida. Kings Island is but one exit on the long trip south.
  23. He might be an avid viewer of Myth Buster's and wanted to try out one of their stunts? But come on, a $1 Million bail? You would expect that type of bail or higher from someone like the Boston bomber.
