  1. So is there any proof or rumor that the area cleared is not the entire area for the new ride? So what ride would fit in that area?
  2. Well my bet is Gravity Group for the next coaster. Take out what dont work and replace with what does. Rode SOB many times including with ACE at 6AM on preview day and it was by far the worst ride Ive been on (except the loop). So hoping GG will take all they have done to today and make the KI ride one up on all of them. How about an inversion in a tunnel?
  3. Well Jeff mentioend a couple years ago when there was lots of change in personnel that he was not getting the same connectivity/response from the new group and thus discontinued it. But it is worth always asking again to see if he could try again and see.
  4. Sorry if I am a reader and not responder. I love the trip reports people do and I have never responded to them. I know you can count views so to me that was my response. If someone knows people are reading it that was good for me and not trying to diss their hard work. I do hope you post all of the pics here as I am a resident of this area since the park was built and love to see pics from the past and current. Still wish KI would publish a book just on the story of KI. There is the coney island book and the videos of the start of KI, but a nice coffee table book would be a good addition.
  5. Yeah, as soon as I read this I thought this should go in the 'Guests say the darnedest things' thread. I would let it go and laugh this one off. This is an everyday item at many parks I would assume.
  6. They have had it for specific rides but never as a whole park event.
  7. Well this was after the presentation and they would not need to be testing them then. We were leaving after all that and saw them out there driving in the lot. Just wondered what that was all about.
  8. I have a question about the Media day when the Italian Job ride opened. We were there and left during the downpour that day during the lunch. When we left, we saw the stunt drivers out in the parking lot driving around what appeared to be a course setup. Did they have ride alongs available that day for people as well or was that just for show from them to drive around and have pictuures/video taken?
  9. Ok, So now the 2 missing web cams (Diamondback and Dinosaur Walk) are now active at the end of the year? What was up with those till now? They worked off and on and mostly off
  10. Yeah, this is great. I actually want to post/view the boards again. It was getting SO SLOW for me.
  11. I have to agree that it has been drove into the ground, but does this also mean that there is some grounds for KI to try and save it? It seems that KI enthusiast have SOB on their minds a lot. Even GP friends of mine ask me about what is happening to the ride. I seem to get asked at least every few weeks by someone. Either way, I think this is some prof for KI that there is enough interest in the ride to at least entertain the idea of fixing. Well with a big structure like that in the skyline, people will talk and wonder. Still my opinion, get rid of it and try something else (B&M is coming out with some really fun stuff)
  12. Yeah, I was really hoping to hear KI announce that they would add one of these next year. They can start to bring that ride type up to this region. The waterpark really needs something. Plus figure out how to have a much cooler walking surface.
  13. So why are we not seeing this feature at Cedar Point now? That might be a park I would pay $50 to jump into lines for rides. They have a set of big rides that I am sure people would jump at this deal for.
  14. Yes I have ridden The Beast since its opening. I loved to ride the front seat when they were enclosing the helixes. You used to feel like you were going to fly off into the posts sticking up. Also think the joining of the mid tunnels into one was a great idea.
  15. And some of us just called it terrible. I just called it Unbearable! Voyage is intense (in a good way). I rode it for media day and it was ok and the loop was the best part. Now with the loop gone and ride rough, just get rid of it, cut losses and move on.
  16. I too miss the Tumblebug at KI in the original classic Oktoberfest area. But I have ridden the Tumblebug at Kennywood many times. We venture up there and our whole party takes one car and rides it the classical smashing way. As for the Lost River, that scared the crap out of me as a kid at Coney. Ride into dark tunnel ride with nothing, then out and what seemed straight down! Loved that ride.
  17. I would not complain. They should have it in addition to Beast/Diamondback if they can. The other 2 would be open. But agree they just need to get over the quirks and get it going. Maybe I will try ERT and get on it....
  18. That's funny, do the cars still have numbers? Or do the ride ops just point and say, "ya'll take that one!" The best part of Shake, Rattle, and Roll is the front seat! Well worth the wait. Assigning seats on shake rattle and roll :-) Well checking cams I see CP and KI WindSeeker not running. Go Figure. Wish we had a cam for CW as well.
  19. I was there media day and got the ride packet they handed out and a SOB pin. Have both still but keeping mine.
  20. yes, we were there last night from 8 - close and the sign said closed (all day)??? It was a perfect night even though it rained early it was gone by mid afternoon. It is also a ride we have tried several times to ride and find it closed whenever we are there. I see on the web cam CP ride many more days than ours......
  21. Ok, just got back from KI today. Yeah it rained early today but since early afternoon great weather. So we arrive at 8 pm to ride WindSeeker. Oh yeah, its CLOSED (all day). Huh, come on, why do we continue to have new rides (yes I know a prototype) closed. I really want to ride it but this is getting to be a joke. Crowds light and perfect weather. So what are the excuses nowadays? Seriously, they need to have the home page with a link (like CP did with Top Thrill Dragser) and say if the ride is open or not. It just seems like there is way too many days it is down. I am beginning to loose any appeal to ride this but really want to do so. post edit: Well from what I am reading, downtime for this ride is getting to be quite common :-(
  22. How did they get a basketball on the coaster?
  23. What is going on with the Diamondback and Dinosaur cams, they have been down for days now. Are they moving them to better views (especially the Dinosaur cam) Anyone heard anything?
  24. yeah I am really wondering about the wind thing as well. They got this style so it could run in winds, obviously not high winds. I think the real design was for CP and if it met that standard it would be ok. But after seeing some videos and hearing about it closing, not sure about this. I figured that the arms were rigid more than they are and so did others. If they were it should be able to take higher winds. I do like the idea of having a wind speed monitor by the ride. Then if they say no rides when > 10 mph and the gauge shows 11 mph, they can explain. I agree it is probably a fun ride (not on yet) but seems like a odd one to put in 4 parks. Well I am not the marketing manager or park designer so that is their job. Just wondering how this ride will do long term.
