  1. Hi everybody, I'm trying to put together a project right now, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of the songs they played in the School of Rock show? I searched and didn't see anything, so I figured I'd ask because I'm sure some of you rock 'n roll fans remember what was played. Thanks! -Jon "Reality15" Roost
  2. I want to say I have a 2004 map, 2004 brochure, 1999 map/brouchure, and I think a 1994 brochure. That's in my collection of over 3,000 different brochures, however, so I don't know what exactly I have that I didn't just say.
  3. Part of me thinks that's just a temporary logo, at least the top icon. Reason being is that is the same icon that the Cedar Fair uses.
  4. Would anyone happen to know where i could find the original Son of Beast animation? I'd really like to see it, considering back when it came out we didn't have fast internet.
  5. I see. So Vekoma doesn't sell the parts they used. How odd. You know this how? They could just buy the parts, sure. I know this because one of the maintenance guys at Geauga posts on another site and relayed this information to us when we had the same questions about three-train operation.
  6. Three train operation isn't possible. The third train, once it was taken off by Six Flags, was used for parts for the other two. In other words, they'd have to buy a whole new train from Vekoma.
  7. Exactly, I know, and I really didnt' mean to take it the way I did. I'm still trying to find a time to head back up to Muskegon to see back where it would go any better. I'll be up there around the 18th for sure because I'll be headed back home on break.
  8. Not on here. I've seen some crazy things on other sites though.
  9. It's not like you can't see through a wooden roller coaster... and there's a place in the employee parking lot that if you get in the right spot you can see the edge of that area. I said it was hard to see, not impossible. I don't see why you feel the need to bash me when all I'm saying is that I saw something, I'm not making some outrageous claim like a bunch of others are doing.
  10. Two. The Swan Boats have also come used from Cedar Point. We've also recieved a lot of the decor from the old Coasters restaurant from downtown Sandusky. Deconstruction is supposed to start this week at Geauga Lake, so I'm guessing we'll be seeing track or supports at the ride's destination at the most two weeks from now.
  11. Nope, I didn't because my camera was stolen from my dorm a week ago and I just went and got a new camera last night. Not to mention that area is hard enough to see because it's covered on two sides by wooden roller coasters and the other by trees. I live about 45 minutes away, just west of Grand Rapids. I was driving back to school from home (Okenawa) and figured I'd stop by since it was on the way.
  12. Time for the resident Michigan's Adventure person to step in. You got the coasters for those two years right. Here's what CF has done for MiA in the rides area since they purchased it: 2002 - Skycoaster, Dodgems, HydroBlaster (dry waterslide), Be-Bop Blvd (car ride), Go Karts 2003 - Nothing (major infrastructure and landscaping, though) 2004 - Swan Boats 2005 - Funnel of Fear 2006 - Grand Rapids And I'm not saying Michigan's Adventure is getting X-Flight, believe me. I honestly am not even close to a guess on where it's going, but to add fuel to the rumors when I drove by the park the other day I saw lots of heavy equipment back by Grand Rapids as well as what appeared to be footers... no clue if they are or not, but just something to keep in the back of your head.
  13. I went once just to see what the park was like. I went back a second time because: 1. I love Flight of Fear and Top Gun 2. I didn't have the chance to ride Italian Job 3. It's an easy stop on the way down south for me... exactly 5 hours.
  14. And what's more surprising is that the Cedar Fair releases say that they "Operate Bonfante Gardens" but "Own and Operate Star Trek Experience"... I thought STE was a joint venture with Hilton?
  15. Wrong. Season passes go on sale in early September, the talking is already going on if it's not already done (which wouldn't surprise me). For example, I always get my Michigan's Adventure season pass the weekend after Labor Day. The maps and guides won't change until at least 2007, if not later. I seem to remember Knotts not having them separate (combined as one) until three years after they were purchased, and Michigan's Adventure took a year.
  16. They didn't, they were sitting over near the Adventure Express lot when I was there the day of the Son of Beast accident.
  17. Ignore the "abrupt stop at the brakes" comments from members and the staff. Neither train with those injured in it had an "abrupt stop", they were same normal stops that always happen on the ride. A timber giving way would fit the "dip in the track" theory as well. I dare say we've kind of figured out what happened.
  18. No problem. I also heard from people leaving the exit that the train "jumped" going down the drop before the loop. Could a board have come up and hit the train from underneath, making the train "jump" and jolt the riders enough?
  19. Just posted this at TPR, thought I'd share it here. I'm here in Sharonville, Ohio tonight (today was spent at Kings Island), and I've got firsthand news on what went on. I got in line for Son of Beast shortly after I got to the park and took a ride on Top Gun. This was, I dont' know, sometime in the afternoon before dinner. I'm standing there in the station, and a train gets back and a lady doesn't get up out of the seat. She's holding her upper chest, and they called the paramedics and escorted her to the ride's exit gate (she was still there when I left the line). They send a ride op, paramedics, and a security guard out to the next train that's now waiting on the transfer track brakes, those three guys come flying back to the station yelling to "start the ride and get those people in here right away." The next train rolls in, and literaly everyone on the train is holding their chest, head, neck, stomach, you name it. That's when all sorts of employees, paramedics, security guards, and other personnel come running up the exit. It literaly looked like a scene out of Saving Private Ryan, people were EVERYWHERE on the path, just lying there. I took a walk over to ride Racer, Adventure Express and a few other rides, come back to ride Drop Zone. The Timberwolf Theatre over there is just packed to the brim with ambulances, paramedics, and all those injured. Word that I heard from several people that were near the exit path is that the train hit an abnormal "bump" right before the loop which really threw them around. Take that with a grain of salt, though, because I'm not sure exactly what happened, I'm just piecing together things I heard near the exit (where people were before the Timberwolf opened up to them). So there you go, an update from the park from about 10 feet away from those injured. *~* Jon P.S. - Just saw the note about people with blood coming from their mouths: there were two small kids in the last car that both lost teeth and were therefore bleeding. Other than that, I saw no blood.
  20. As a proud member of the Cedar Fair family since 2001, when my local park (Michigan's Adventure) was purchased by the chain, I have one thing to say: WELCOME! You'll love it, the first few years it's rough, as they do a LOT of work behind the scenes with management, operations, and infrastructure. You'll probably see more capital spent on bathrooms and other amenities than you will in rides for the next few years. But after that (and believe me, Michigan's Adventure just got past that), the chain does wonders for giving the parks charm and class. So, on behalf of the fans of Michigan's Adventure, I welcome you to the Cedar Fair fan family (whether you like Cedar Fair or not ).
  21. Hey, Cedar Fair has worked MIRACLES for my park, I wouldn't even START to say they've done a single thing wrong. I can't wait, you guys will really like Cedar Fair management. I know I like park operations better under Cedar Fair.
  22. Funny, I saw a double rainbow the same day on my way to Cleveland. Pretty, nontheless.
  23. Because I didn't see anyone answer your question, yes, the have the "Town Hall Museum" back in Frontiertown. It's actually a nice place in there, and they have some cool things.
  24. Is the Nickelodeon Studio at Universal Studios even used much anymore? I thought they had a place out in California they did most things nowadays...
  25. From a maintenance standpoint, it is VERY UNSAFE to operate rides when it approaches freezing. When the temperature reaches 32*, no outdoor rides should be operating.
