When you play with fire, you eventually get burnt. This is true in all risky ventures. My heart goes out to the trainer and her family. This is an extremely sad incident and is just another reminder that life and its living creatures are anything but predictable.

In all fairness, painting a steel roller coaster costs a lot of nickels. Of course, that statement isn't being fair either...repainting a steel roller coaster is a fairly large investment. One which would not pay off immediately for a ride in the location of Flight Deck. From the midway in AZ, it still just looks gray. From Kings Island Dr. the ride also still looks gray. Not until you are in the queue line does the wear of the ride really show! It's just not one of those high "Return on Investment (ROI)" activities!

Probably, before discovery, a lawsuit is filed against ALL possible parties. So If you were to sue McDonald's over a hot cup of coffee you would sue the coffee company, McDonalds, the cup maker, the lid maker, the brewery machine maker, and any other possibly affiliated parties!

Might help the Apollo deal go through it is stays that way? I would say no. The people selling the stock right now, will more than likely NOT be voting for the deal. By voting with their feet, these unit holders are voting NO. People are probably abandoning the stock as they believe that the deal will not go through, and the stock will be stuck with a tremendous debt load and go back to around the $9 range until its operating environment improves. In essence I would imagine quite a few of these people just don't want to mess with the stock anymore, which does happen!

Such a touching PTR Rail Rider! I do not typically read these things, but I awaited every word of yours! I am so glad you had a great time, your pictures brought many emotions to me while reading! Disney just does nearly everything right, and in most instances they go above and beyond the call of guest service! If you haven't done so already, be absolutely sure that you back-up all those pictures in multiple places. It would be a shame to lose those pictures. Thanks for sharing your visit with us!

Now, when it comes to estate transactions I know that "improvements" made to land can make that land become the property of the person who made the improvements. I have also seen the other scenario, which is where a certain person makes improvements to another person's land and did not keep the paperwork necessary to prove it, at which point the land improvements have reverted to being property of the land owner and NOT the person who made the improvements. I would think that Six Flags would have all necessary documentation to prove that improvements were made to the land by them, and subsequently the capital upon the land should be Six Flags. I think a bankruptcy judge would approve this as well, regardless of what the lease with the state of Kentucky stated. That being said, without us seeing the contract, it is very possible that the State of Kentucky required improvements as a part of the lease, which could work against Six Flags (as the improvements would attach to the property)...or not...

Oh, surprise, surprise! "Materially false and misleading statements" surely paints with a wide brush. That could mean nearly anything as it relates to transactions like these. After all, this is why press releases contain disclaimers trying to ease the misunderstanding of planned and future events. I have to wonder how difficult it is to prove that someone falsified information or misled. I don't think that arguing for $11.50 as the acquisition price is misleading even if the units are worth more. After all valuation is more an opinion rather than a fact, value is defined as the utility of something, and that utility means different things to different people. Misleading statements simply has to refer to something else, of what, I am unsure. We all knew these things would keep coming out of the woodwork. It would be nice to know at some point what the actual point of disagreement is within Cedar Fair's statements.

I have honestly made the trip up to Cedar Point and spent half the day watching football! Honest! The park was dead, I walked on every ride about 5 times and decided it was time to just go watch some football!

^I would tend to think that near the old Flight Commander/lazer tag building would be a nice place for a sit down restaurant. This is a ways away from both Festhaus and Rivertown Junction.

Knowing the sports tradition in Cincinnati, I think a Gameday Grille at Kings Island would do fantastic business!

It should be mentioned here, that Soarin' was modeled as a completely mechanical and functioning ride system, using an old Erector set by Mark Sumner a very resourceful Imagineer! To think that a ride as technologically advanced as Soarin' came from an Erector Set model is astounding!

Note, for Disney the design of projects can take a decade, in many cases the engineering and technical advances seen in their attractions are the first of their kind due to "imagineering". The R&D that takes place at Disney is unparalleled. The land in Florida for one can be very difficult to work with, you would be surprised by the amount of work that goes into prepping land for construction in Florida. Especially when it comes to securing amusement rides or entertainment venues to a suitable foundation, as CoastersRZ on these forums can surely attest. Innovation takes time, that is the key thing to take away. But while innovation takes time, creativity takes only a moment, and often what we see as "new" today was in development for a very long time, building off of previous successes. For Disney, EPCOT had sat on the drawing boards for many, many years!
