  1. I like how they called them cobra caverns. Seems like it is a reference to the old king cobra that use to be near by.
  2. Exactly my thoughts. If I’m not mistaken didn’t we have freezing weather two weeks ago? I don’t see them wasting money on flowers and landscaping to have it freeze and die. Then replace it again, that would make the cost double. your complaint about food service. Be patient with the new staff members. They all get trained before the season, but remember reading a handbook, and listening to others talk about your position, and acting out scenarios in a class room is far different than working with actual customers. A lot of food service employees are minors also, this could very well be their first job. We all know how nervous we were at our first jobs and I’m sure we all made silly mistakes too, and we learned from those mistakes.
  3. Hey everyone. I know it’s been a long long time since I’ve been on the site. Anyways. My thoughts on a new attraction. And the budget of the parks and what they could do to boost profits to help make up there lost revenue no, I don’t see anything huge within the future. I could however see a few small improvements being made. Like track work on Racer and The Beast. Maybe even a few paint touch ups on Some rides and buildings. Maybe give the Eiffel Tower a fresh coat. Maybe continuing the lighting package throughout the park. I always thought if they added western lights that flickered through Rivertown that it would add to the charm. Small upgrades that help beautify the park is always a small thing that guests notice. Also I’m not sure if I’m the only one here that has notice this or if it’s just in my head, I remember as a kid that International Street had this very sweet smell to it. If they could figure out how to not make it smell like walking into a LaRosa’s restaurant I’d be impressed. I find that smell off putting takes away from the charm that International Street use to offer. Also maybe bring back some specialty shops. I could see the introduction of a new show being the biggest draw in the near future. We have to large buildings that collect dust throughout the normal season. I don’t see how if they converted one into another venue for shows it would cost an awful lot. They could easy transform the venue back into the haunt that operates within the building when summer season ends. and please. Do something to Boo Blasters. It doesn’t fit in, and last time I rode my gun was broke and it just felt sad. Half the props weren’t working. Now here’s where my thoughts for added revenue. One option, they could offer a Show Pass Something that gives preferred seating for all shows and gives guests a bonus of staying after shows for a Q&A with the cast. Might seem silly but by offering a small keepsake like an autograph book that pictures the cast for each show and a line page next to it could be a great up sale promotion for them. It would give guests a way collect signatures from cast members during meet and greets. They could also offer a photo with one full cast of a guests choosing, which will be printed and slid In a protective plastic sleeve that they could pickup later at the end of there day. I could see families keeping those for years. I still have my old view finders from the nineties that they offered at the old photo stands. If they show packages like Fast Pass. It could give a small bump in the monies they have lost these past twow years. Example: Silver- a few shows, mainly outdoor venues. Gold- offers all shows including the Headliner in Kings Island Theater. Another ideal would be to give old merch that they don’t know how to get rid of in stores at the end of the year. Instead of marking it down in price. The park could turn them into mystery boxes. Since they are very popular right now. How cool would it be to be able to purchase a box and inside have 4 random items. Like keychains, mugs, pins, gloves, hats, shot glasses, ext. these would make cool Christmas gift boxes to sell during Winterfest. As for wages taking out profits. Well sorry to the employees, but this is to you. As a past employee I know the prices in the employee cafe are much much lower then in the main park. I could see them added .50 or more to items you purchase to bring up the money lost to paying your paychecks. I would be shocked if they haven’t already been doing so already. That’s just my thoughts. I do think the parks will bounce back in due time. But for speculation and fun. I could see us getting a RMC next. When, Idk. But I have a feeling we may see something to pay homage to SOB. There’s one inversion RMC hasn’t tackled. Maybe the park could talk them into placing a loop in it. They could market it as the first hybrid coaster with the world tallest loop or something. I do not see this going back by The Beast though. Also. Idk if you all have noticed this. random thought, why dose it seem that all the coasters face the same direction with there drops or lifts. Maybe could we get a drop facing north for once. Lol anyways. Hope you all are well. Have a good day.
  4. This year I have noticed that the fights and people being straight up crazy has increased. Every haunt I went to last Saturday at some point had cops running in, lights being turned on. And at one point someone was pushed out of Wolf Pack on a stretcher. I honestly think the alcohol sales should end when haunt starts. Most of these were from people being stupid drunk. Was a shame. Because I didn’t get to go into everyone I wanted because this increased wait times.
  5. I noticed last night there was a new tombstone sitting right next to it. That wasn’t there before. Could it be another hint? makes me think of Robinson Cursoe who was an explorer. So could be Adventure Express
  6. I agree. But the plants vs zombie thing was fun at Carowinds. I really enjoyed it. I think it could be a nice fit for Kings Island
  7. Well when I heard it wasn't finalized as yet I thought maybe they are still debating. But however we do have a rather large motion theater that has been sitting empty. And with parks receiving plants vs. zombies/mass effect maybe that's what they are still finalizing. Which one to put in. Or another though. Placing VR on a coaster like Iron Dragon received this year. The Bat or Adventure Express could both benifit from it with there lower rider counts.
  8. I think it's going to be a dark ride kinda like Canada's wonderland utilizing the old crypt building. This is what supports my claim. While on Diamondback u can see clearing right on the other side of train station that kinda looks parelle to the tracks. Also I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. There are new games located around the old crypt building. In fact if I'm not mistaken isn't the new soccer game sitting right in front if not right on top the old que line for the crypt. So that could mean the haunt that is there will not be returning. Plus that building could house a pretty good dark ride element and drop track. Now the theme around it could be beast related. But I doubt it. However a prehistoric theme or river monster theme could be the storyline of the dark ride. Just my thinking. Btw hello everyone been a long time since I've been on.
  9. was at the park today and part of the water park is closed off, with backholes tearing up ground near the blue twisted slides, forgive me don't know the names. wonder what they are doing
  10. i havent been to the park and havent been on the site for a while, last i heard it was rumored to leave but that was months ago, kinda sad to see it go was the only ride at the park my mom liked.
  11. I was thinking with the 66 days think and pilgrim plunge rumored to leave the park, maybe they are getting a new attraction in its place. Maybe a steel water coaster!!
  12. been a long time since ive been on here, but have visited and lurked. I heard that they were waiting on a part from Germany. and that it arrived but it wasn't the right part. but it was just rumors, so take it like salt grains.
  13. Well there is one spot surrounded by trees in the lot. But you have to be dead to park there
  14. Unless ones on the way out.... I don't see Invertigo going anywhere. It's a great ride with a vintage feel. Boomerang coasters are great for parks
  15. Hey everyone. Been a long time since I've posted. But I've been around lurking. I have read this thread from beginning to present. All I want to say is WOW! So much crap. And flat beds carry more then track. I agree it's most likely a drainage system for the new area! And that I'm looking into it as a invert and the track color to be yellow, due to the painting of Invertigo! They stated we are painting this for a future attraction. So to not confuse the two it would make since the new one invert be yellow! Two inverts in the same area same color would look weird. Just my two cents.
  16. If not mistaken wasn't FOF built after the building was already erected.
  17. this was easy for me, I love the old time type of flats, so monster all the way, shake rattle and roll is a close second. I find Delirium to be a very calm ride, In fact i think it could rock me to sleep, so many of the new flats get repetitive, but with the monster its a different ride everything you ride it, I wish Kings Island has some of my other favs, like the zipper, and chaos (yes i know these are becoming harder and harder to find) kinda sad. Oh and breakdance is another I wish Kings Island had one, I also like flats that look amazing while running, like they are a piece of art.
  18. Will someone just kill this dang thing already.
  19. They are trying to stay to the fame, First in the us. They have to work fast because SIX is trying to take that title.
  20. the ring of fire event if im not mistaken is where you can try multiple hot sauces.
  21. of course Diamondback, its my home for must of the summer.
  22. also if you need more questions answered you could always call up the park. They can give you more detailed information on the programs they offer. sidenote: I work for the park and have many parents tell me that this is by far one of the best riding options we offer, because they dont have to carry kids who get inpatient in line. Because while ones waiting, the other can take the kids to other rides, while the other is in line. Even if the other with the kids dont get to the ride right after the other person get off of it, they can always return with the pass to ride. I also have used it with my friend, and her son. It does make a difference, I hope you guys have a wonderful trip. and while your there come up and see me, i work Diamondback
  23. the ones that want to ride with you are okay, but if you want to have more ride with you on the swap inform guest relations of it, so they can make the pass state that. We are not suppose to let more then two up the exit with out there permission first
  24. sadly the food options have not changed, but you do have to ability to leave the lot and go out to eat at one of the restaurants in the area and come right back to the park, all you need to do is show the teller your recite to get back into the lot with out paying, or flash you goldpass. Also on the parent swap situation, go to guest relations when you first get into the park, let them know that you would like a parent swap form. Take this with you when you ride rides. The other people in your group can wait out of the line while you go and ride. When you get off of the ride take it up to a ride op. tell them you are doing a parent swap. They will sign the back of the form, and tell you to give it to the other party and have them come up the exit. That way you dont have to try and match up the trains just right, plus its a lot less stressful on the kids not riding and the other guest visiting. Hope this helps you out some.
  25. i did it beautiful, trying to get my lazy friends to do it also. love you and jack, finders crossed that you win.
