  1. It would actually be, layout-wise, a little strange to make it part of Adventure Port considering the location across from the Tower Gardens entrance, which is very much I-Street. Maybe they decided not to try splitting areas in the middle of the midway there.

  2. Despite what the map says, I think they might have dropped it from being part of Adventure Port. No repaint, and no new concrete to or around it.

It doesn't really fit in either AP or I-Street, honestly it would probably fit best in Coney. There are better things that building could be used for.

I wonder what the structural stress difference is on our ride vs CW's ride because of the trains. Ours runs 6-car trains while theirs runs 5-car trains.

Derp. Okay, see where I said 6? Replace that with 7. Now see where I said 5? Replace that with 6.

I know they decided to take Vortex down coinciding with the addition of Orion but I do believe they intended to replace it before now.

Unfortunately not all removals are "planned" and off-season inspections, testing, etc. accelerates when a ride is removed - sometimes years sooner than when a park thought the ride would be operational.  That leaves a void in planning as said ride was expected to still be operational during said planning period, so the site sits vacant for longer than anyone would like...

I've been under the impression that Vortex's demise wasn't known until sometime during the final season, maybe even as late as the end of the summer season. I'm not saying this is the case with Bat, but it's still concerning.

Hopefully it's a mechanical issue like the lift motor or other equipment that just needs to be replaced, and they don't have the needed parts or equipment in yet. Bad case of that in Action Zone right now if it's a matter of waiting for parts work.

Whenever it comes time for The Bat to be removed it will likely be the end to the entire pathway.  Reusing the design from Canadas Wonderland basically forced the station to be located in a very awkward location.  A clean sheet coaster design would never have been designed like that and would put any station and queue closer to the rest of the land.  It would take major changes like for instance Timberwolf getting removed to see another station in this area.

When Top Gun was built, the monorail was still in service. It's not just a matter of being the same layout as CW, they had to work around the monorail track and station.

I had an instance this season of 2 teens tying to line jump during pass holder preview night on Orion. There was quite a few turnstiles open and they were ducking in between the rails to catch up to where the line actually started. My friend and I who were in front of them was just following the queue path. What they didn’t realize was that this “old man” being me, at the dusty age of 30 could duck between the rails too. As soon as I saw what they were doing, I began to duck between the rails just so they wouldn’t get ahead of me. Once we caught up to where the line actually started. I made sure to take a second to look down at them as if they were clowns and they mean mugged me.

I never really considered it line jumping because the line was never actually back that far, but it would be interesting if there had been a camera aimed at "that spot" on the Top Gun exit and someone keeping an official count of how many people took the shortcut to ride SoB over the years.

Unless they needed some kind of emergency quick evac from the SoB queue, I'm really not sure why there was just a chain there. It was useful when it became Wolf Pack as the entrance, but it always seemed like it should have just been normal railing.

  7. Yeah, once the rides are installed they can get to the landscaping and theming, and like I said there are plenty of weekdays before daily ops start to work on the various projects. Adventure Port with AE theme job is the major thing but there's still the Diamondback paint to complete, a new restaurant to open, a restaurant to complete relocating, VIP lounge to finish building, etc.

I think by the start of daily operations everything will be in order, Adventure Port might not be open right then but they can really crank out work during the weekdays this time of year so it's too early to judge.
