  1. Why dosen't Dick just SAY that Maverick isn't bringing in the guests that he thought it was going to bring? On the upside, no negativity on GL.
  2. Ugh, Superman at SFMM extreme? Since when? Also, having TTD and KK on the same list is like having Wicked Twister and Steel Venom on the list. I can name tons of coasters are are more exciting than that. Im sorry to everyone who likes The Beast but I don't see how it can be considered "extreme".
  3. The only way you will know that SOB is open to the GP is if you are entering the parking lot and hear the screams of passengers in the rosebowl. I'm not talk about cheerfull TTD screams...i'm talking about screams that only come from someone when their legs are being beat to death by pure German steel.
  4. The ride side gets a decent crowd in the evening when the temp starts to go down and the waterpark closes. It's nothing new. Ride Side in the morning, Waterpark in the afternoon then back to the ride side in the evening for an hour or two.
  5. As with anything that CP themes, it will eventually fall apart. I don't see the Water Cannons running much longer...I give it 4 years tops before it's broken and they decide not to fix it.
  6. Yeah, just like there are only three Beemer Flyers in operation (Tatsu at SFMM, Superman: Ultimate Flight at SF:OG, and Air at Alton Towers), and, strange as it is, they're made by the most popular ride manufacturer out there, besides Intamin. There are 6... Dick did state that he wanted to downsize the park but I don't think he's stupid enough to take out the most popular coaster and their biggest draw besides the waterpark.
  7. Of all coasters...why a floorless? Their hardly being built anymore. It's not like it was back in the early 2001 when they were being built like crazy. The last Floorless built was Hydra and that hasn't gotten that many good reviews.
  8. The only "broken" part of SV is the lims and mabey the top of the trains. The coaster has a 98% chance of heading to Dorney. They recently applied a zoning permit for a coaster with two towers...not to mention that they are installing the same kind of power source that SV and WT run on...
  9. Even if the it becomes a waterpark, it will eventually fail like every other waterpark in the area. The think about GL was that you got into the ride park and the waterpark for one price. Ride some rides in the morning, then head to the waterpark in the hot afternoon then back to the ride side for a few more runs on Dominator before closing.
  10. I still don't see why people think that since CF took out two high maintence rollercoasters, that there going to take out a low maintence popular coaster. And what makes you think KI would even get it?
  11. Bill mentioned Attendence was up last season despite the shortened season. I think it's pretty good that a park, which recieved 700,000 guests in 2005 with a full season and The Haunt, managed to get 700,000+ for 2006 with a shortned season and no Haunt.
  12. People in NE Ohio head to the beaches for Memorial Day weekend, not amusement parks. Me, and alot of other people thought that park did pretty good for memorial day. My friend that for the first time in years, he rode Villain with a full train of people and when he got back to the station, there was an actual line. Even Texas Twister got some talk. Alot of people thought it was a new ride due to the new paint job.
  13. You just got a coaster this season. The most you will probably get next season is rethemed rides and a waterpark expansion.
  14. Then where have the guests gone to? If GL is having attendence issues, their guests (or former guests in this instance) have gone somewhere else. And yes, I do choose KI over GL. And I live in Erie, PA. about 130 miles from GL, but 360 from KI. Kennywood or Cedar Point. If you'd of asked someone here a few years ago if they knew what Kennywood was, they wouldn't have any idea. Now, most people know about it due to their advertising up here. Dick for some reason never mentions that GL had an increase in attendence last season even though the season was shorter. If they Haunt was still an event, i'm sure he wouldn't be so dissapointed seeing as the Haunt was a HUGE crowd bringer.
  15. So you are suggesting that CF has the same area at Geauga & KI? If both parks had the same thing, families are going to choose to go to KI over GL. Both parks have Waterparks but families don't choose KI over GL up here. KI isn't as known up here...only a handfull of people know about the park and the ones willing to spend the money to take the 4hour drive down there instead of driving 45mins are gonna be small. Turning the WHOLE 50's midway into a Nick zone would suck and would be a horrible move. Kidswork would be perfect to turn into a Nick Zone. Not everyone going to GL has kids...which is what Dick needs to realize.
  16. Do you know how much stress that would have on the riders and the track? The train would be so heavy due to the fact that B&M would have to find a way to design the proper bycicle seat and everything...total gimick
  17. Don't see why people get bitter when a new ride isn't opening on opening day. Thats like the first rule...never plan to ride the new ride when it first opens because it's always plagued with problems. But yea, as you all mentioned before, kudos to CP for replacing it before it even opens to the public...god knows that we need another "Chiller" mishap.
  18. On that basis, they should take out 2 coasters from each CF park to make it fair . Abit is, is that making GL's waterpark seperate would be a horrible move. What would they advertise? Our signature attractions are turning 8 and thats all we have. If BB would be a seperate admission, wouldn't SP holders get in free because they own a season pass?
  19. I don't trust a man who dosen't know when he bought a park. Also, it dosen't say much to say that WildWater Kingdom is the best waterpark in Northeast Ohio seeing as the only other waterpark is Pioneer Waterland and it hasn't recieved an addition since the 80's...Looks like Kennywood will become the new park up here.
  20. Guests are a major thing. The restraint system is confusing to them so of course they will have trouble with it. I don't know about people in Southern Ohio, but I don't think their much different from the people in Northern Ohio... Oh, and its going to SUCK to have to climb the lift hill at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon with temps in the 90's. Bring sunglasses.
  21. Here what they could do: THey should give it a total rehaul, retheme it and purchase new Vekoma Floorless Trains. Chestingtons Adventure did the same with their Suspended coaster and billed it as a new experience. I know the the countour of TOp Gun, it could give a unique ride. The TOp Gun themeing needs to go...it was an ok name seeing as most people knew what the movie was when it opened back in 92 but it's bascially a 25yr old movie.
  22. I don't know bout that. B&M's standup restrains were rounded at the bottom so when you pulled them down, they went a bit over your hips(Hard to explain: )
