  1. Ah yes, and what a night it was. I remember it vividly. After I got off work, I thought it would be cool to go downtown with a co-worker, for just a quick drive-through, to join in the festive mood of people celebrating. Needless to say THAT was a mistake. Took us several hours just to get through town. haha. Well, in a sense we pay part of his salary, so there's that angle. Patience is a virtue...one that, admittedly, I still sometimes have trouble with. The truth is, this desire for more tweets and teasers is only being fueled by the impatience of people who want to know what the new coaster is going to be like. They are like kids on Christmas Eve, wanting to look for hidden presents that have not yet been put under the tree. The reality is that the park/coaster enthusiasts don't know how to run an amusement park. The park owners and management do. I imagine if KI did everything coaster enthusiasts wanted them to do, simply because they supposedly pay part of his salary, the park would be full of coasters each over 450' high, reaching speeds of 100+ mph, wrapping around the structure of the Eiffel Tower, and having 25 inversions each. There would be no family rides, and admission would only be $10. But that's no way to run a business. Now, pardon me if I've rambled on. I sometimes have trouble with that, too.
  2. I think it looks like a pair of surgical/gauze scissors. haha. http://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/B1047287460/gauze-scissors.jpg
  3. I personally like Thunderhead. The direction changes are part of what makes it exciting. Obviously we can't judge what KI's new coaster is going to be like, since we haven't seen anything other than a general out-and-back overhead layout - but I want to hope there will be some nice elements that make up for the lack of a twisty design.
  4. @KIfan73...A fitting tribute it would be. Their career had ups and downs and curves. haha.
  5. ^ I just said it. And so have millions of other people in the past 40+ years. I highly doubt we are "nobody". Maybe it was just before your time?
  6. Yes we have Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nice job with the Carpenters video! Always was and always will be the greatest pop duo in history.
  7. haha. Funny. I really must learn to clarify my questions. I meant would anyone here in the forum, who knows and perchance reads my post, tell me how wide the lifthill track is for a GCI coaster? I humbly thank you, sir.
  8. Wow, it's been a while since I posted here at KIC. Interesting thread so far. I have a question: Does anyone know how wide the lifthill track is for a GCI coaster, including the handrails on each side? Same question about RMC. Thanks.
  9. I confess I don't post much during "off" times when there isn't much park-related news taking place. For instance, I still come to the site to look at different threads, but if the park isn't expecting anything new and when there aren't rumors circulating, I will simply lurk without saying anything. For me, visiting message boards kinda mirrors my real life: I tend to be a shy person, and hang out in the background observing things...even at family gatherings. I'm still "there" as part of the "family", but I don't like to be the focus of attention and usually only say something if I want to make a point. If I do say something, most of the time I end up saying too much and then people either don't understand what I'm trying to say, which can cause arguments, or I end up boring people because I rattle on and on.....kinda like I'm doing now.
  10. Can I just say there are enthusiasts on this site, but that doesn't mean everyone on this site is an enthusiast. This is KI Central, not KI Roller Coasters and Thrills Central. It's a site about the park itself....not just the coasters. And to be frank, Dollywood is NOT a thrill park. It doesn't profess to be one. It's a FAMILY park, and it's in the midst of one of the largest FAMILY tourist destinations in the country. I had the opportunity to walk through Dollywood when it was closed (yes, I was there legally) and the simpleness of the place amazed me. I didn't have to go on any rides to actually enjoy the park. The setting alone is thrilling. So NO, YoungStud, the only reason to be happy about this announcement is NOT simply if you receive a Dollywood paycheck. Have you ever been there? Have you ever been to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Smoky Mountains? If not, you should try it. You might find nature's thrills are a lot better than the manmade steel ones.
  11. If it weren't for the way the OP worded his initial post, I'd be more willing to seriously consider responding to his question. But come on, "blah blah blah...old news" - ??? Steel isn't even rising from the footers yet, and Banshee is already "old news". Give me a freakin' break. With this kind of attitude, I hope KI goes 10 more years before we see a new coaster. Some people can be so darned spoiled. Sorry....not in the mood for reading this kind of nonsense.
  12. Now we know what the owls were all about! (Listening to the hooting at the start of the teaser video.)
  13. Are you guys really interested in hearing from YoungStud, or do you simply want to rub it in his face? Leave him alone. He's taken enough ribbing lately.
  14. Check out the zero-g on that puppy!
  15. Well, at least we know what all the triangular footers are for. Elevation change is 208' from top of the lifthill down to the valley.
  16. I can say one thing for certain (among other things now): It sure will be a colorful coaster.
  17. How in the world would that work? They could call it "Hangman, the Ride" I was thinking more along the lines of "Crotch Killer".
  18. The screams from the angry mob would be heard around the world, I'm sure.
  19. Been away from the thread for a little while, so just now seeing this. Listen, I'm not bashing you. I just don't want anyone to get in trouble, that's all.
  20. No, then you're only trespassing on the old Ford plant property.
  21. Welcome to the website! I hope you enjoy your time here.
  22. Now you just need to learn what the layout of a girl looks like. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be inappropriate. But I just had to say it.
  23. ....I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer...? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die?.... Now, replace the word "Jew" with "Intamin fan" or "B&M fan". What I posted above is part of Shylock's monologue from the Merchant of Venice. It gives you some perspective, because, like Shylock, everyone here (including YoungStud) has feelings. As I alluded to not very long ago, there are real people behind the avatars. Let's keep that in mind, and try to sing that classic hit by the Youngbloods.
  24. LordSkippy took the words right out of my mouth. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks, Dane.
