  1. Now see, here's the problem. Those of us in the invert camp have given our reasons why we believe it will be an invert. We've presented the evidence which supports our opinion. What kind of evidence have those in the Intamin/giga camp shown us to support their opinion? I asked you less than a half hour ago for what you see as evidence that it will be a giga, and you haven't answered that question.
  2. Why in the world would we do that? You didn't ask anything wrong. We aren't being mean to you. We just feel it's better for new members to get caught up by reading through the posts first so we don't need to keep explaining things that have already been explained. There are SO many questions that are easily answered by reading through the thread. If it's a new question, we'll be happy to answer it for you.
  3. Welcome to the website. Please read through the most recent pages for an explanation. A good page to start on would be page 308.
  4. Flight Deck? LMAO! I was going to say something like that earlier. Perhaps you will. Someday. But it ain't happenin' on August 8th. Just don't drink and drive. And make sure you don't make any comments while on a bumpy road.
  5. In 8 days we'll be handing you a box of tissues as your laughter turns to tears. In 8 days we'll be handing you a box of tissues as your laughter turns to tears. you sure have too much confidence in an invert. Could be the other way around. Let me ask you this: What evidence do you see of it being a giga?

  7. A cobra roll has 2 inversions. EDIT: Others beat me to it. Dag, you guys type fast.
  8. Bad day...just now getting caught up. They could paint Invertigo or Delirium to remedy that. Yes and to keep get you up to speed, you need to pick either you want B&M or Intamin. Then you must pick either invert or not invert. Then last but not least.Do not trespass in the park. You forgot to mention it's not a wing coaster. Interesting line of reasoning. Let's analyze this.... - Inverts are a thing of the past, so let's not build one. - Wood coasters are a thing of the past (the far past), but they're still being built. Yep, your theory is busted.
  9. So basically, you're basing your prediction on the fact that no other coaster in Ohio has 6 inversions. Is that all? You see a pattern of certain Ohio coasters only containing 6 inversions, so you don't see why there would be a coaster with more than 6....is that correct? As I said, that's not sound reasoning upon which to base a prediction. If that's your official proclamation, then you're entitled to it. But I'm trying to understand your reason for saying that, and your reason makes no logical sense to me. But whatever. I'm not going to keep arguing about it. What are you talking about, double footers? Do you mean the parallel footers? My pet peeve is people not coming out and saying instead of beating around the bush. Absolutely, Young Stud. We finally agree on something. Why would two lift hills imply it's a world record breaker?
  10. Now that's an interesting thought....the world's first coaster in the ground. I can imagine the experience as riders are flying along on the track: *SMACK* - "Watch out for that rock!" "What'd you sa..." *SLAM* as one train goes flying into a boulder. "Hey, man, where did all this dirt come from?".... "What, dude?....OUCH...just got smacked by a tree root!" "Why am I so wet?" "Oh, the train just entered an underground spring." Banshee - the slowest, and most painful, coaster in the world. Okay, I'm done being stupid. The eternal optimist. I gotta give you props for that.
  11. Don't do it, man. It hurts. Better to grab a pillow and scream into it.
  12. Sorry, Cody, my posts aren't meant to irk people. I have a tendency to multiquote, because I see a lot of posts I want to respond to. It's hard to "hear" the inflection in my voice, but I'm not really pouncing on people. I just tend to challenge what people say - not because I'm trying to irk them, but because I question the reasoning they use as the basis for their posts. By no means am I saying they aren't permitted to express their opinions. I'm just probing the basis for it, that's all. Welcome to KIC! And I assume you've heard the saying "There's a first time for everything "....? If the only reason you assume the new coaster won't have more than 6 inversions is because no other coaster in Ohio has more than 6, then let me take you back to 1987 when Vortex opened, and no other park in the world at that time had a coaster with 6 inversions. Your logic doesn't make sense. They could have put a final inversion on Gatekeeper and didn't.... My logic makes perfect sense. Vortex - 6 Raptor - 6 Gatekeeper - 6 How come they have not added a 7th inversion to any Ohio coasters after all of these years? It can certainly be done. Look at these examples: Kumba - 7 Hulk - 7 Kraken - 7 Dragon Khan - 8 Your logic goes like this: No park in Ohio has built a coaster with more than 6 inversions, therefore this new coaster won't have more than 6 inversions. That's not sound reasoning for why this new coaster couldn't have more than 6 inversions. As I said, there's a first time for everything.
  13. I think there was a looping coaster in the 1800s in Paris, France. The loop itself was only 13' in diameter, and it was metal, but the track leading to it was wood. I think. I could be wrong.
  14. And I assume you've heard the saying "There's a first time for everything "....? 15. I know this is off-topic, but dude, is that your car in your avatar? Sweet machine!
  16. I can't imagine what other kind of "world record breaking" attraction it would be to warrant such an announcement. You lose hope in humanity because not everyone pays as much attention to what the park's building the way coaster enthusiasts do...?? The article in the Dayton Daily News showed a photo of a broken comb. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/kings-island-to-unveil-new-attraction/nY8zm/ I wonder if that is relevant in some way...? I don't get it...what was the point of that video? I imagine each park is individually maintained by its own maintenance department - not specifically by Cedar Fair. How Cedar Point handles their maintenance issues is unrelated to how Kings Island handles theirs. Chances are you're only saying that to be negative and rain on everyone's parades. You and Young Stud are truly a pair.
  17. The Enquirer has an article about the announcement: August 8th. I know, it was already mentioned....so I give credit to others. But just wanted to post a link to the article: http://masonbuzz.com/2013/07/31/kings-island-to-announce-world-record-breaking-attraction/
  18. Trust me, you'll save yourself, and potentially those of us who are familiar with the entire discussion, a whole lot of headaches if you simply read through all 300 pages. It will get you caught up on the answers to questions which have been asked dozens of times, and provide you with reasons why it won't be a wing coaster. Yes, I know - you didn't say anything about a wing coaster. But believe me, the issue will inevitably creep into the conversation again at some point - just like this ridiculous Intamin vs. B&M debate which is currently taking place in a thread where it doesn't belong. Please don't bring up subjects which aren't relevant to decoding the 2014 project. Are you kidding? B&M coasters are 10x more sexier than Intamin. I don't know what your talking about futuristic, I just see stupid crossbars and a box or triangle... Haha Sleek..thin..not wide and fatI only like b&m when I am drunk and there is no intamins around Which is apparently quite often.
  19. Someone - please go start a separate thread for the Intamin vs B&M debate. It's getting seriously old. This isn't the thread for it. Dude, you just don't get it, do you? KI isn't trying to please the adrenaline junkies. If it thought building that fantasy Intamin you dream of would be in their best interest, they would do it. But right now, from what we can tell, that isn't what they consider to be the best move for the park. So yes, what you're asking for is too much.
  20. YoungStud, you're disappointment is your own fault. You hyped it up in your own mind. It seems you want a 350' Intamin giga that goes 98mph with sharp turns and ejector airtime, which in and of itself is fine, if that's what you want. I think anything less than that is going to be a disappointment to you. A lot of people seem to hype it up in their minds, and that's what causes the letdown when they see it's not what they envisioned in their heads. But KI hasn't done anything to hype this up to be anything more than what it is.....and they haven't even told us what it is yet. So any and all speculation by anyone at KIC is based on their own fantasies and interpretations. The hype is not fed by KI at all. Is that asking to much? Is what asking too much?
  21. Am I the only who has totally skipped over this entire page?

  23. I highly doubt that's the case. On the contrary, I think it's the people who read more into his tweets than they should who are tricking themselves.
