  1. I tweeted him asking if the slides at Soak City would be painted new colors for the 2012 season, he replied with "We are working on the slides right now and you will see the changes!" Hopefully that means they are indeed being painted new colors.
  2. They were not converting Sky Cabin to WindSeeker, Sky Cabin was being removed and in it's place would be WindSeeker.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lofaayFIF0Y&feature=related I came across this. This POV of Tomb Raider really brought back a lot of memories. Although The Crypt is no-where near this fantastic, I honestly do not want it to be removed. Look at what it used to be, there is potential!
  4. Now there is Leviathan, so whats next? Now just because CW built Behemoth in 08' and KI built Diamondback in 09' doesn't mean KI will make a Giga in 13' because CW is making Leviathan, but its fun to imagine! I could definitely see a giga coming to KI in the future, and assuming Leviathan is a success (which I'm sure it will be), the chances are higher of one coming to KI. Earlier I was on Google Maps exploring Kings Island. I was thinking where a good location for a new coaster would be. I came up with a few locations. Action Zone: I don't know how much profit is produced by the go-carts, but I never see people on them so I assume its low and isn't a bad decision to remove them. The station would be approximately where the carts are. The station would be facing towards Xtreme-Skyflyer. Once dispatched, the train would make a 180º turn to the right before climbing up 310' at a 45º angle. Once over the top, you would drop 300' at a 80º angle. This drop would be above Adventure Express's queue and would reach the ground near Racer's station (in that grassy area). The train would reach a top speed of 95mph than fly up a 240' second hill. After this airtime-filled air, the train would fly over the X-Base walkway on a large hill that curves similar to the one ones on Intimidator (Carowinds) and Leviathan, only going left. The on-ride-photo would be at the bottom of this hill. Now is the lateral portion of the ride which includes an element very similar to Leviathan's hammer-head turn. Once done with this element, you soar through a banked turn/hill like the many on Leviathan (seen at the very bottom of this photo). The ride will feature a MCBR, which is right after the last element described. After slowing down a tad-bit on the MCBR, the track drops down as it slightly turns to be parallel to the massive 240' airtime hill. You than jump over the X-Base walkway once again on a smaller 100' tall airtime hill. Riders once again experience airtime through another hill only this one is much smaller. And preparing for the grand-finale, you rise up another hill but turn to the left on a heavily banked upwards turn. In a Intimidator-305-manor, the train switches direction at a fast passe and drops downward similar to a helix. After making a sharp turn you end your journey as you hop onto the final break-run. Here is a quickly made drawing on Paint I did to help explain. By the way, you can see it tears through the maintenance area. In reality, it would be elevated above it so it wouldn't interfere. And lastly, the entrance to the ride would be a plaza breaking off of Action Zone where Day of Thunder currently stands, a smaller path would also take you to the new coaster from Oktoberfest near Slingshot and Delirium. Thoughts?
  5. I agree about Racer being repainted, GASM at SFOG and Screamin' Eagle at SFSTL both look beautiful! Since Boomerang Bay is becoming Soak City, I would love to see some of the slides repainted more vibrant colors like Cedar Point is doing with theirs.
  6. Although I wish the expansion could of came with a new slide, I'm very excited! I may not be the biggest water park fan, but Boom..Ugh, I mean Soak City is very popular (Actually most water parks that come with park admission are), so this definitely will bring in a LOT of money! I'll start off with the entrance, it looks very welcoming and permanent, where the Boomerang Bay entrance looked cheap and temporary. The new wave pool is HUGE! I know Great Barrier Reef is always packed, so this will be nice to have two options! I am most excited for Action River. In 2008 I went to Schlitterbahn Galveston, they have "Torrent River", and it is INTENSE! Seriously, if Action River is anything like it, you will spend probably half your time in it! Lastly, anyone notice the new path leading to Snowy River Rampage? I was thinking it may have been an error, but part of the new Action River is that non-swimmers can interact, probably meaning shoot water. Just like White Water Canyon, this will probably have a new viewing platform on the new path leading the Snowy River Rampage. This path will be highly appreciated by me considering SRR is my favorite slide in the park, I will no longer have to walk up/down the steep stairs that have leaves all over them! I'm very impressed with this announcement, and I can not wait to visit next summer at Soak City-the fun and only (in Southern Ohio)
  7. 1. Orient Express (WoF): Rename (IDK what), and change colors to be appropriate 2. Ozark Wildcat (Celebration City): Keep everything the same 3. Screechin' Eagle (LeSourdsville Lake): Keep everything the same 4. Big Bad Wolf (BGW): Rename (IDK what), but keep color scheme 5. Led Zeppelin (FSAP): Rename Carnivore, and paint similar to Talon 6. Chiller (SFGAdv): Rename Velocity-X,and paint appropriately 7. Mega Zeph (SFNO): Change name to "Raider" and get new trains 8. Rockin' Roller (SFSTL): Change name to cartoon theme, and change colors to be appropriate 9. Muskrat Scrambler (SFNO): Keep name, but change colors to darker green
  8. As always, you hit it spot on. I completely agree with everything you said. Davestrome mentioned earlier, this is pretty much ERT, which it pretty much is! From 12-7 you can ride select rides (which are all pretty much the ones with long lines) as much as you want. Really I feel like there is nothing to be upset about, we should be happy there is seven hours of ERT everyday now!
  9. At first I wasn't too sure about this, now that we know the full details I love it! I no longer have to plan to go on an empty day to ride everything. Although it's still $50, it seems worth it to me! I'll definitely do it! You got to think, all they have to spend on these are a little advertising, banners and signs around the park, maybe a few extra employees, a web developer to add this to the website, and the actual wristbands. After that is paid off (in no time), it's all profit! This could get us something in the future! I'm trying to see how it works though. The website says to enter through the fastpass entrance, on some of these rides I don't know where that'd be. It's probably just the exit. I really hope to see other Cedar Fair parks to get this, and I hope it's available during Haunt (maybe even add a fee haunts to it)!
  10. You may not like it, but some people do. And from a business standpoint, it brings in alot of money. Also, not all modern music is bad. It's just not what it used to be. Everything evolves, including music. And I don't just mean my generation likes it, I mean it's differing from what it used to be. Yes some songs are about drugs, sex, and money, but there are alot of artists today that sing about important things, just in modern way. Ever hear about Lupe Fiasco? He is a rapper, most of songs have to do with the war on terror, our government, and other serious present day problems. Now I'm not saying you should like this generation'smusix and tv, but just realize that it's not all you think it is.
  11. I've been to KI when Diamondback has a 45 minute wait but rode it 5+ times in 30 minutes. When I get off, I find an open seat and ask if I can ride with them. They've always said yes. I haven't done this since 09' but last year I did it on Voyage a few times.
  12. Dorney Park, rumored to be named Stinger.
  13. I haaaaaate that show, along with all the other teenage parent shows. I do like Teen Wolf and Jersey Shore though. My sister has met him a few times in Broad Ripple.
  14. I went on a July Saturday in 2008, it was pretty busy. We didn't have a plan, so we struggled being able to ride everything. If I were you, go straight to Superman first! You still may have to wait a while, but this is when the line is shortest. V2 is another low capacity ride, so hit it up while nearby. Might as well ride Batman since it's right there. Now it's really up to you if you want to continue the loop around the park, or go to the SW area (Raging Bull). If you stay on track, continue on to Little Dipper, Sprocket Rockets, Iron Wolf, AE, than to Demon and Whizzer. Than end your day in SW. If you start in the SW, do the same only in reverse. I highly recommend visiting Hurricane Harbor! They just expanded it with multiple new slides! Have fun, good luck, and post a huge PTR for us!
  15. Make Diamondback feel like a B&M. It's called Diamondback, not Rattlesnake, so there is no excuse for it to rattle as much as it does!
  16. Wow, I never noticed that. I'd assume it's supposed to do that, but the seats do indeed seem to come very close to one another.
  17. Cedar Point's WindSeeker is now open! I'd expect KI's to be open in time for July 4th!
  18. If you get to the park before opening or right at 10, park in the back lot. Ride Magnum XL-200 first as it won't have a line at all. Next if you want the kiddie credits get them, otherwise go to Gemini. Ride Mean Streak if you want, lol. All of these rides will have little to no wait. I'd skip Maverick and save it for later, unless it's a short line. Hit up Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Skyhawk if your interested. They'll have lines of about 5-10 minutes. All of the water rides are located right here, so nows the time for them! Thunder Canyon (?) will have the longest line. Follow the Frontier Trail and ride MF. Expect the queue to be pretty full! Mantis will probably have a long line, and it moves SLOW! Wildcat is closed I believe... Iron Dragon is iffy, anywhere from a walkon to about 40 minutes. I'd skip TTD and that area for now, instead go towards Wicked Twister. It hardly ever has a long line so you'll get right on, btw ride near the back! If WindSeeker is open, I have no idea how long it's line will be. MaXair hardly ever is above 3 cycles so ride it! Disaster Transport usually has a long line, especially if it's hot outside. Next cross the midway to Raptor. By now it'll be the late afternoon or evening so you'll wait probably around ten minutes. Blue Streak won't have a wait, be sure to ride near the front! You've now got most the park hit up, so go back towards TTD, but ride Corkscrew (and Power Tower) on your way since they shouldn't be too long. TTD will probably be around twenty minutes, but could be up to two hours at most. Now hopefully it's only twenty or less, that'll way you can ride Maverick if you haven't yet, or just reride rides for the remainder of the night! This is all from experience, it could be completely different! If your visiting on a July Saturday, don't expect to ride much! I hope you have a great day at America's Rock'n Roller-Coast!
  19. From reports last year, it sounds like it was a ton of fun! I'm interested in doing it! If you have a season pass, do you still have to pay the $40?
  20. I told them I'd love a big steel coaster that's out of control, has airtime, and speed. Also mentioned how HW has three of the best woodies, and now it's time to get THE BEST steel coaster! Let's hope this happens soon!
  21. Holiday World! But no seriously, I have no idea.
  22. Back on topic, Canada's Wonderland WindSeeker reopened yesterday, and is open today.
  23. Our Drop Zone tower is taller, but theirs drops you higher because the gondola goes farther up than ours.
  24. ^ Yes! http://www.visitkingsisland.com/runkingsisland/courses.cfm Here it has a worded version of the route. It also mentions walking through 'a never before seen view of Son of Beast' (That I, and probably most of you, have seen multiple times before). The weirdest part is it mentions seeing Diamondback, Triple Twist (GWL), and Flight Deck; so this has to of been written 2009 at earliest. But later on it calls Flight Deck Top Gun... Odd...
  25. Thanks for posting this! I can see why Son of Beast is on the map, because it's physically there, but why is the loop still there? It must mean for 2012 Kings Island is reopening SOB with the loop, duhhh!!! (I'm totally being sarcastic...) But seriously, I bet they just add whats been added to the park each year on the CAD map, but don't remove things? I still find it weird the loop is shown.
